The same can be said about the turbo intercooler pipes, they go with a bang, and you wonder what the hell happened!
Thanks for making this video I've just noticed a small patch of oil in the middle of my radiator fins which I will have to address at some point.

My bottom line popped off to but not all the way? But enough to lose a lot of tranny fluid while driving on the freeway, almost left me stranded 😔 I got off the exit and was at a red light then the light turned green and I pressed on the gas pedal and the car wouldn't move 👎 I shifted between gears until finally it moved but slowly, I barely made it home with smoke coming from the bottom of the car from tranny fluid that squirted, this clip design is unsafe and untrustworthy beware, looks like im not taking a road trip with my gf I don't trust it, I like mercedes for the looks but I hate to admit that I would feel much more safer in a Lexus.

My guess is this usually happens after the stock factory radiator has been replaced. Most people go with the slightly cheaper after market brand radiator so I'm guessing either the retaining clips or the connection on the radiator are not as good as the factory OEM radiator and this leads to the line popping out. My c55 made it to 100k no problem without any lines popping out. I replaced the radiator with a non oem one and it popped out on me twice. Ill try to swap over the connection from a used OEM radiator and use OEM clips. If this doesn't work an OEM radiator is going in.

Thanks for this video! I was removing my old radiator but was having trouble removing the Trans lines from the radiator...been very careful as I don't want to break the lines while removing... I sprayed pb blaster per your recommendation, should the lines be pulled straight out or do they twist out? Do I need a special tool to remove them? I have removed both of the metal retainer clips, but still not coming out... BTW the plastic clip on the bottom and top lines have a Blue dot at the top, which is where it seats properly... going to mark my new clips on the new radiator to make a sure it seats properly! Thanks very much for the advice on the Trans clips didn't know they could be slightly off and cause such problem.

Hello, the same thing happened to my E320. I lost most or all of my fluid. I replaced the orings and secured the clamps properly. I filled the transmission with about six quarts of Mercedes recommended transmission fluid, however, now the car won't take any gears and won't move. Any suggestions?

the c-clamps are trash one time use,the orings never go bad them cheap clamps go,and dissimiliar metals make this such a weak spot with every hose going to the radiator.Cheap sheet metal and stainless dont mix they rust together.
