I still don’t know which route to go as the sound is incredibly disappointing next to my other cars, especially the Scud. That said the platform and the feel of the car is unbelievable
Obviously both are loud, but the car graphics headers are just INSANE. What amazes me is that they are both still running a stock back box. Normally the first thing you think of modding on an exhaust is the backbox. (And no it doesn’t sound like a V10) 😂👍
Silly question, does the ecu needs to be tuned when changing the OAP? M thinking to change just the exhaust n leave the axle pipes. Not sure which way to go
@MrHCars did you try the red GT4 with valves running OEM at all? (not 'fully' open via valve control). Keen to know how this might be as i have his setup to go on my GT4 removed from my GTS4.0, but on that i was running hi-flow gpfs which softened the sound a bit (but was still loud with valves open all the time)....but now have bypass pipes as i've also got a tune..... Would be great to know if the setup on the red car could be toned down a touch by using OEM valve control, but fear the transition points may be overly prounounced due to louder volume (Vtec style-yo😂) Any thoughts appreciated🤙
I can’t remember if we tested this. But my latest 20k mile gt4 review might help. The exhaust is so loud that when the valves are closed it sounds stock. So in OEM mode you can just hear nothing and then BARRRRR!!!! Hope that helps
@@MrHCars yeah thats what i'm thinking... i'm selling the headers and going to stick with the OAPs i think with tune - yours sounds fantastic, a bit of a sweet spot certainly for the £. Thanks for the reply and i'll check out the suggested vid🫡👍
Thanks for doing this I will just say be careful when taking sound readings and having a finger or thumb down at the bottom of the phone because you can easily obscure the on board microphone.
I have the SOUL oap’s on my GT4. Its loud. But perfect. Any louder and it would be too much. I dont like the raspy tone of the headers. Makes it sound cheap and unrefined.
I have an opportunity to buy a Milltek system (oap and exhaust box) for a good deal, but I’m concerned about the sound even being an improvement over stock.
Yep mine passed MOT in September with zero issues with no OPF and sport cats. Also gone into Porsche for warranty work with no issues as well. Dont understand where people get their information from…
Sounds amazing!! Great mod Noor 👏🏼
Great that these mods do not add drone. I think this 4.0 is one of the best sounding engines on the market today
Agreed!! A dying breed of engine

Red one sounds OTT now, much prefer it with just the OAP/link pipes
From what I have heard the akrapovic OAP and car graphic valve controller look to be the best mix of sound and lack of drone.
Definitely the “cheapest” and most straight forward option
it’s great to listen to the sound from my car stereo! Thanks for all your effort to make such a productive video.

I feel like stock sounds the best out of this selection. The carlogic pap and clubsport sound great or just the oap

Noted & good spot!
I guess both readings are roughly the same tho, with my finger at the bottom.
So you can assume they’re consistent readings-ish
How did you both get around the ecu with opf
Chaos!!
What's the reference for this OAP on Akrapovic webiste? Is "link pipe set" the same thing? Thanks!
Yep same thing. OAP = over axel pipe

Do you have Porsche warranty? If so how does that affect post mods? And with the OPF removed will it be an issue with MOT?
Warranty and MOT buggered
@@jonfrench7133neither buggered. Car passed MOT in September and has been to Porsche for warranty work with zero issues on both🫶🏽
Great hifi doesn't sound better just because its louder! I prefer the oaps on their own
How did this compare to the full Milltek? Did you sell that setup?
Sold the Milltek (was a opf back only, not full system) a few months ago.
This is much much louder than the Milltek & burbles a lot more
I have an opportunity to buy a Milltek system (oap and exhaust box) for a good deal, but I’m concerned about the sound even being an improvement over stock.
@@2006Vantage OAP make the biggest difference, backbox mods from any vendor just induces drone with the gt4
@@MrHCars thank you. Does material (titanium vs stainless) or manufacture make a difference to just the OAP sound?
@@2006Vantage happy to help!
Material always makes a difference.
Inconel > titanium > steel as a rule of thumb
Saw you and the red cayman on the mway yesteres ( i was the audi) felt like a lil boy 😂😂
The one who put its hazards on?
@@MrHCars yh I spotted you guys in the distance at construction part so I caught up just to hear the cars, love the sound of the gt4!!

Flash us again next time. We can drop a few gears
@@MrHCars hopefully next time I’ll be in my E46 330 too!! ❤️
Is Nor getting any droning with that setup ?
Did you watch the whole video?
The video answers that question haha
Ah yea I just rewatched it 👍
I was trying to think what it sounded like and when you said Lambo, go listen to the start sequence of the Cannonrun ball movie with Countach,,,,,,🤔
Haha it actually does!! There’s hints of it there
Instant MOT failure with no OPF and most probably the Porsche warranty has gone as well. 😞
Nope, both cars passed their MOT last month. No failures.
Warranty is exhaust specific, rest of the car is fine - a risk I’m willing to take
