Audi A4 2021 review

  • It's easy to think SUVs have already consumed Australia's new-car market, but a deeper dive into the numbers throws up some surprising results for some brands.
    Take Audi, for example. Yes, some 57 per cent of its sales are SUVs, and that's a lot. But that still leaves 43 per cent of its customers who are looking for something a little different.
    Something like the new A4, perhaps. Available in sedan, wagon or a more off-road focused allroad body style, the just-refreshed A4 will give you just about everything but an SUV shape.
    The question now is, is this plucky premium passenger car good enough to fight off the SUV hordes? Join me as we find out.

    Good car review but next time do it at places where there is a good sun light so we can see the car better especially when it is a dark coloured car.

    I was seriously considering getting one of these but Audi don't offer the flat bottom steering wheel like the ones that came with the press cars. The flat bottom wheel is a big deal for me as I love the look and feel of it. I have now switched my focus to other brands.

    I have the 2010 Quatro A4. To most casual observers there is not much to distinguish them from the 2021. Honestly, I think all the tweaking to sculpture lines has ended up with a less attractive car. Anyway, I regard having displays of instruments and knobs instead of tangible controls, as a cheap move. I still have less than 50k km on my example which so far has performed flawlessly. I don't want to get involved with more complexity than I already have, so will be keeping this one to see me out. (Keep it stupid simple, or something like that😊.)

    it's not a sports car... 5.8 seconds 0-100km/h. that's pretty sporty to me, lol. Beautiful car!

      And actually that 0-60 time is inflated. Car and Driver and others are consistently achieving 0-60 times around 5.0 -5-3 seconds.

    Looks sportier than before I just bought the new BMW 330i Audi’s virtual cockpit is second to none. The 330 looks a little meaner it is faster 5.3. 0-60.

    • @zadeh79

      The 0-60 time for this A4 car is so inflated. Car and Driver and other reviewers have achieved 5.2 and 5.1 seconds (subtracting 1ft rollout).

    That touchscreen looks shithouse sitting up there on top of the dash. When are car makers going to integrate the screen into the dash.

    • @petron1954
      @petron1954 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Shaun Sharted That would only be the case if they redesigned the dashboard and removed that stupid screen which is sticking up on top of the dash. Just the same with Mazda.

    • @nikos5566
      @nikos5566 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As a taller driver I like the screen being up high and in my line of sight. I can see though why some (shorter?) drivers would find it annoying.

    • @zadeh79
      @zadeh79 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's largely a safety concern. With it mounted high you can keep your eye close to the road. It would be nice to have color overlay hud integration, with a dash integrated secondary unit. ( for front passenger to utilize)

    I have this car and it's a petrol guzzler you put the foot down and or drive normal and see ya petrol would say my A6 c7 diesel is much better in fuel and the acceleration on the A4 is shocking you put the foot down and around 3 seconds later you get the power. Also it revs very highly alot of the time when it doesn't need to which means burning more petrol you have to use the paddle shift to bring it into another hear to lower the revs. The interior is lovely the suspension is lovely and it's a nice looking car but I can't help compare it to my A6 c7 and that's a older model

      When has an Audi A4 started at $45k AUD, that will just about get you an Audi A3 or optioned up A1. But for $45k, I think a top of the line Camry SL gives this a run for its money in terms of room, standard equipment and reliability.

      You have a good reason to be sceptical, I owned a 2008 a4 & it was a tank in the snow no doubt but at about 55,000 miles is suffered a major failure & the dealer attempted to charge me around $2700 to get it fixed, keep in mind I bought the car brand new, but thank God I had it under warranty, now maybe they're better now, but I won't find out I drive an Acura now & enjoy the low maintenance.

    At 3:27 is reported that it has 16.2 cubic feet or 460 liters of trunk or boot space. This is the typical FAKE GOURMET sedan, the one that comes ready to be swallowed by an SUV. In the ranking of decent sedans (SEDÃS TOP 500) with a trunk capacity above 500 liters or 17.6 cubic feet it does not enter.
