She doesn't even acknowledge that he was a violent partner. And get me lost, with the two sides of the story devil's advocatery. If they deep inside know that he killed her, they also think she provoked it. What utter despicable beings that whole family is.

Good for you! I was 27 when I left my husband of 3 years. We had a 3 year old. Was pressured to marry him because of the pregnancy. He was emotionally abusive but he started becoming physically abusive 2 years into marriage. I plotted my escape, woke up after a nasty fight where I was forced to lock myself in our guest bedroom because he physically stopped me from leaving the home to go to my parents and yanked our toddler from my arms injuring her. I made up my mind that night I would leave him the next morning after he left for work. I didn't tell him or my parents (for fear they would accidentally tell him) where I moved for months. Drove around the city until I found an apartment that would give me a key that day. Left with nothing but what would fit into my car. Filed for divorce and waited the mandatory 6 months required by court. Celebrated my freedom and safety once I realized he "moved" on. It only took him a few months to find a new girlfriend. I do think I saved my life. He continues to be abusive. He is divorced again. Unlike some abusive men he openly proclaims to be a Narcissistic megalomaniac. He wrote an entire online blog about his self destructive personality. However he denies ever abusing me.

If you are ever in this type of a situation, which I hope never happens, you tell the police you want to speak with the head of missing persons and point out that there is no law prohibiting police to wait any amount of time. You can look at the number and data on males whether it is boys, teenaged boys or men as far as the amount of murders they fall victim too, but it cannot compare to the amount of women, many of them pregnant or mothers that are murdered. It’s like a genocide of females is happening before our very eyes. And no one thinks that is strange. And it keeps happening, especially when a woman is pregnant, or trying to leave their spouse is when they are in the most danger.

The police departments that I've seen use the 48 or 72 hour rule are *BOLD AF* 🤦🏾‍♀️ That's more than enough time for dumping, crime scene clean up, escape and general degradation of evidence (e.g. rain washing away evidence, garbage pick up, crucial details in the memory of potential witnesses). Especially if it's out of the ordinary for someone to just disappear into thin air, look.for.them! At least start asking questions!

@@mrs.germain4911, I agree. Some women simply cannot believe that the man they love (or once loved) does not love them in return. Even when these women (who are typically also the breadwinners) are hit, beaten, cheated on, and threatened, they still want to believe that the man cares about them. The fact that Adam joked about her ending up like Gabby and abused her, Maddi obviously had feelings for him still--even though she was sleeping with another man. If Adam loved Maddi, he would have worked to help support their children. If Adam loved Maddi, he would not have abused her. He would not have killed her if he loved her.
In the beginning of this story, when it was stated that Adam had taken the children to his parents' house, I knew that he had killed Maddi.

@@Irina-uv1tv - I’m trying to imagine having an affair while in an abusive relationship at all. For most, that would make romantic relationships scary and have a base of trauma to them. And if she had Stockholm syndrome, I doubt she would speak or act negatively towards him since there’s a vibe of adoration or rationalizing abuse.

Pathetic how Adam's family sticks up for him. Maddi was buried on property tied to his family. Cadaver dogs do not confuse the smell of dead raccoons with dead humans. He was unaccounted for - for 45 mins in the area of where her body was found. Maddi disappears 1 day after she tells him "it's over". There may be two sides to every story, but the two sides are the same in this story = Maddi is dead and Adam killed her. His family should stop being so selfish and admit the truth to themselves.... Saying it wasn't him, will never make him innocent.👿 At least Gabby's killer took his own life too...

As a previous abuse victim I have some advice not to be taken lightly. Do NOT tell your abusive partner you plan on leaving them! Quietly get your priorities in order and leave when they are NOT around. If need be, leave with what you can but do NOT tell them. This is the most dangerous time for an abuse victim and the highest chance they will be killed. Maddi would be here today if she hadn't said anything to Adam. I'm not placing the blame on her for a monster's actions. Adam's family need to come back to reality because he was an abusive mooch who cared nothing about anyone but himself!
