You're the first TH-camr to clearly and thoroughly explain all these features that I've seen. There's really a lot in this pack and I don't think it's all being appreciated.
My sims are rich enough to not need rent paid on their units. So I just turn previous residential lots into rentals (Like the Goth Mansion, those in Del Sol Valley, Landgraab house) and buy all of them. Since those places are so big anyway, each unit ends up being 3-4 stars by default. I set the rent price based on the game's suggestions and rent them out. Even if the tenants don't pay rent EVER, my sims are rich enough that they don't need to. So giving sims shelter that was previously hoarded by 1 household and having them be there rent-free is the dream and I am living it! Now to do that in the real world! End homelessness globally overnight!! :D
True, because being a landlord isn’t exactly a profession so getting a lot of money from this to the point you don’t need a job would be weird. But I wouldn’t give up my sims earning money from gardening for anything lol

You forgot to mention that water lots in Sulani also cannot be turned into rentals which makes me mad to no end. Also, never rent to the Shadow sisters, they are bad tenants lol

when my brain first comprehended that 1. we can make apartments 2 each apartment can have up to 8 sims in it and each lot could have 6 units of said size, which if we do the math, 8x6 thats 48 sims total... tell me why people are complaining about that? I never get up to 8 sims period let alone managing that many.... that makes my head hurt and my eyes cross
Assign All Rooms is likely a quick shortcut for rental houses. Like if you were to turn Goth Manor into a rental and become the Goth family's landlord, you could click that, make the whole house 1 unit, and be done, rather than assigning one room at a time.
Would NOT rent to the Benet family at 11:25. I love this channel. He doesn't spend 20 minutes moaning about how much he hates the game like some other youtubers

I’ve been building some residential rental lots on Newcrest on my new save file, and I decided to have sim to be a property owner. What’s funny was I put most of the residential rentals with the mold lot challenge, and it was chaotic that I’ve already expected 😭 I think I have become the worst property owner because in my gameplay most of my tenants got severe moldinitis, and I decided to remove the mold from all of the lots. Thank you for giving some tips for the residential rental lots 🤗

People really have no idea how being a landlord works legally judging by a lot of these reviews. Not a bad review, just something I'm noticing. Landlords get fines for things too. Like unexpectedly kicking out tenants. 🤷♀️

I wonder, is there a point in having a hot water boiler and fuse box in a normal residential lot? I added them to one of my sims home because I felt like having them does add to the real life aspects of owning a home. But I am not sure if there is a point to having them on a regular lot. Like would having the fuse box for example lower your energy bill? Also another thing I want to know is, if you have a seance table on the apartment you are renting and summon some spirits, would that violate the no ghosts rule?
I know there's a lot challenge in residential lots that allows them to malfunction (but it isn't available for tiny homes or haunted homes for some reason), but idk about how it'd effect bills. And I imagine that summoning ghosts would violate the rules, but idk about specters
Would placing turbines, solar panels or generators from Eco Lifestyle instead of the fuse boxes generate power for units? Great video as always, Petey, already looking forward to your next one.

You know, I was going to skip watching this video, as I've both explored the pack fairly thoroughly and have watched several other videos on the pack, but I thought, "You know, Petey always seems to have info I've somehow missed." I'm glad I watched, as I have been so frustrated with the rental unit color border lines and didn't realize I could toggle them off! Thanks so much. I also didn't know about the arrows indicating changing unit rating. Thanks again! Something I've been doing to increase the environment score of apartments is collect tassels and hang my extras in the units as welcoming gifts. They provide Environment 3 and cost nothing if you find them in the world as opposed to buying them at the night market or only $50 if you do buy them. They really do beat the score-per-simoleons rate for pretty much anything in the build/buy catalog.

the loading screen to visit neighboring apartments on the same lot is the WORST. I was looking forward to the pack for that specific reason: to have neighbors you can freely visit. They really missed the mark with this one in my opinion.
I kept spamming the promise better conditions during a revolt on cooldown (like there's a short timer on it) and they never accepted it. My units were well cared for too. I hope it's a bug lol.

Okay a few questions: this pertains to being a landlord - #1. If a property owner dies what happens to the property & tenants? #2. Can a property transfer ownership from one Generation to another? #3. If the property owner where to rent out to elders & they died; could the property owner get the urn or is it just lost forever in a void?
Tenant rent cap will prohibit choosing tenants if you are charging more than they can afford, but you can move in sims without the required bed count... They just might not be happy about it. Also, the number of tenants that apply for units increases with the unit rating, I guess to simulate good units being in high demand.

Okay so I made a trailer park in moonwood mill since its the best place for trailer builds and I made a landlord sim that I won't play so that I can get the experience like city living but better
I think it would be cool if you could only do 6 households and the households were only 1-3 sims. And then you could do the whole thing without loading screens. It’s annoying there’s only 6 sims on the block but I have more restrictions than in the base game.

The only thing that confuses me is when playing as a Landlord, where can we live with the tenants? Does the Landlord live in an area that is not color marked? I've also tried to decorate the furniture for the rented room, but when I visit, the items don't change. Can anyone help me?

So if a renter has a pet in violation of the rules you could charge them for breaking the rules, collect your money then forgive the rule for that unit. Kind of like getting a pet deposit?

so here's my question: I want to build a version of a 1940s boarding house where a widow rents out her extra bedrooms with a communal bathroom/living room/kitchen. My question if I build this am I only able to play as the widow or can I play as the widow landlady and also the tenants?
QUESTION: how --or can--you play as multiple units at the same time? I made a frat house, one for boys another for girls, on the same lot (rental) and they're completely separate in build mode, but when I'm actually playing, it doesn't let me be all the sims in their individual lots. I have to 'visit' the lot--which I guess I didn't expect. I thought you could see everyone all the time and have them interact together instead of their unit being closed off... Is there no way to play like that? I guess I just expected it to be different.

I believe they would! But I honestly haven't tested how the objects from eco lifestyle interact with those from for rent just yet.
I think so, Didn't knew those boxes were needed and all my lots have turbines, dew collectors, etc.

I put them in a shared common area and the tenants do thier own laundry never the landlord

I have found that changing the residential rental back to normal residential or another lot type is problematic, so be careful with your lots.
How do you get neighbors when starting as a tenant ? I chose a unit but when I moved In, the other rooms were empty?

You can move them into the residential rental and switch to each household by clicking on the door to their unit

I have to 'visit' the lot--which I guess I didn't expect. I thought you could see everyone all the time and have them interact together instead of their unit being closed off... Is there no way to play like that? I guess I just expected it to be different.
go to manage worlds (top right corner) and you should be able to click on the other tenants like you would when loading into your game
Can you become a landlord but you live in a different world? And you have a rental lot in a different world

From my experience I don't believe the shared spaces impact on rent prices much if at all.
@@PeteyPlaysIt That's a huge missed opportunity (and gameplay limiter, like so many things in this pack). In real life, amenities like gyms and pools will certainly raise your rent.

can you create separate units on one lot for instance townhomes
