I think the timing of this is obviously fitting with the update videos and honestly im just thankful for an early upload this week!
You guys should build an office under there now that it's waterproof! Well done guys!
they already did
@@ottosmusic5900 That's the joke, you found it!
That's a great idea! I would also add a fire pit somewhere on the property, let's say instead of the pond
When building said office make sure to take note of where you place the toilet...it might be tricky, just a hunch I have
They should build a house attached to the deck!
Remember watching the original videos for this, love rewatching it again. :)
I know I’ve seen this before. I’ve seen them all (several more than once). You’re showing us the waterproof decking that allows you to build your office under the deck! 👍👍👍
PBB and crew are excellent. Eric's editing is top notch!
Oh my goodness, I love watching these fellows. I’ve learned so much. Thank you and thank you.
Even though it's a Re-Load I'm watching anyway. Love you guys
Super beautiful view of the mountains, very pretty. Love to see your son working with the crew, that’s good parenting there.
I enjoyed watching you and your crew tearing down, then installing your new deck!
Well done, Perkins Brothers!
I love watching you guys work! It’s good to see how you work through problems.
Thank you for adding this.
Thx for the video. All your video’s are great to watch. Very informative and educational.👍
I like when you do the full build videos, I usually watch every video from you guys the day it's up, but I like to watch the wrap ups as well>!
This video made me happy. An investment lasting for grandchildren to inheritate. And safer than just some money on an account
This is great! I was not aware of this product. Thank you for reloading. I need to visit you guys, I’m an architect who recently started my practice in Sylva NC . I have clients who need a good builder. You guys are perfect.
Hi guys, great job. Great product. For the boards that are cut at angle, use 2 end caps. Just cut one of the 2 to make it fit whole.
Beautiful job guys, on a beautiful house! 👏🏻
Beautiful work!
Beautiful job and love the type of deck that is♥️
Beautyful work
Very nice job ,you have a good crew
I would use Lexel to glue some of those ends caps on the diagonal cuts of the decking. With the cuts being longer because of the diagonal cuts, you may have to fabricate some out of the left-over decking material. That decking does look great.
Noticed this as well. Looks unfinished
Gorgeous build.
33:55 Ok, how about how do you cap the angled ends? That is the kind of stuff that always put me off using hollow section decking. Maybe manufacture from a couple of caps and bond together or make from deck stock and make plugs and holes?
To lad to see I'm not the only one that noticed this. Looks unfinished
Great to see a recap!
It's always good to protect your deck!!
Surprise video!! YAY!!!
Its a call a prequel it give a better understanding of the latest video package i love it
Feels like I'm back from the future! Great job gentlemen!
I love seeing the ramps on the ground as they remind me of my childhood.
I like the all in 1 condenced refresh jobs!
@Perkins do you mean Attic access? You are using some wild words. Never head of Scuttle hole in my entire life. OMG
Turned out great,👌
Beautiful deck!
Gorgeous new deck. Love the easy install decking. You should charge rent for walking on this to recoup some money. One suggestion on the railing is to put solar lights on top of the posts. Thanks for another great video and thanks for not cutting these videos too short.
Really cool decking material! Never seen it before.
Jay's Parting Words. Should be a regular segment in all your videos😂
Beautiful
lol I just went back like 2 hours ago to watch the original deck building video what timing. great videos as always
We used this stuff before. I think it was 33 unit condo in total. All the decks were 6’x12’ or so. The guys from Duxxbak came and “certified” 3 of us to install this stuff. I left that job before they were tested but I had my doubts about it while I was installing it. We played hell getting the first one waterproof (the one the guys came and certified us by watching us install 3 boards each). We spent so much time putting in all the blocks all around where the deck meets the structure because there were bolts all in the way (this was a remodel) and the GC didn’t want to replace the joists. All in all I think I like the trex idea of catching the water with rubber membrane in between each joist and a gutter.
With the cost of a composite deck, why not just sheet it with plywood and apply a torch on membrane that is good for 30+ years. Waterproof and you don't need to go with some specialized composite system or install crazy blocking. Additionally you can layout your decking in whatever pattern you want as you've got a solid subfloor.
I'm getting video withdrawals.... So im watching them all again and making sure to like it so i know i watched it :)
I made it guys..A Tuesday change up w a quick review of deck project..tks..
It seems like this was just yesterday instead of a year ago! How time flies.
I’m sure I saw this video before . 😅😅
Long version or condensed version, new upload or re-upload -- I don't care, I'll watch these videos as they come... I love the tip-sharing part intended for inexperienced guys like me... avoiding mistakes in the future DIY projects. Thanks PerkinsBrotherBuilders 👍✌️
thanks!!!!!
Jason is such a handsome hard worker!
Hey guys love your vids. I think you should use the space under the deck as an office/gym or something especially that it is waterproof underneath. 😂
Your music selection is great
Whoa , that would make a great office /gym space underneath there, would be a cools series for a tweezer project
Why are you showing this deck build againe ?? I LOVE YOU GUYS !!!!!!!!!!
Kind of weird to see this happening after watching the framing already done below last week.
Howdy, from J. Creek. Beautiful work!👍🏻👊🏻
YAY!
I see you on every channel I follow lol. You got good taste in channels too I see
@@terencemerritt Cheers! Which are your favs
bet this was reposted because of the barrage of comments on the most recent project. I sure have my doubts. Eric's idea of using closed cell spray foam as an "extra later of protection" on the underside of the deck seems scetchy AF. But its his house and if things go south then its his business. Hopefully they don't spend a lot of time on the interior finishes because it may need to be gutted in the near future.
I've seen so many horror stories in the news about decks falling with people being maimed and even killed - this is a great example of how to do it right But also anyone buying a house should inspect the deck thoroughly before throwing parties on it!
DeJa Vou. This is a good reminder to learn from our mistakes.
Waterproof deck take two. Action!
I already watched this one
Rerun.
1video build! yeshhh
Loaner hard hats and vests at the land fill are like borrowing used underware from the lost and found LOL! We've all done it!
or the used speedo at the swimming pool.
I think it's a great video. Can you please make a video showing what happens to the water
Hey Erik, I noticed you were using a knife to get off the globs of dust on your sandpaper. I had the same problem not too long ago and I used a plastic bristle brush that seemed to do a really nice job.
Dejavue, all over again!
RELOADER RELOADER RELOADER LOL😂 We have already seen this. Love the vids❤
Favorite line in this ep by Eric…. “Lexel in the whole hole”. 😂
This seems like a re-upload?
It’s the best of five full 20 minute videos crunched down to a 30 minute full build
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothersconsider naming these something like “supercuts” or “the gist” to avoid confusion :)
What in the reload is going on!?😂
@@PerkinsBuilderBrothers I suspected that considering the current series but couldn’t remember. Thanks!
yeah it seems to be shortened version of the whole process
still
I'm going to watch it
beautiful project!!!!......I wish you had talked a bit about budget. It was at least $100,000 upgrade, which is worth it for value, but clue us in, please.
I Like The Laugh
2x3 sistered ledgers on joists spaced 2x thickness with perpendicular flat 2x4 @ 20-24” oc
Regarding the big mess on the deck, we say in my country: "blacksmith's house, skewer made of wood”.
I thiught i was going crazy thinking i already saw this video.
Isn't this an old video reuploaded? Nonetheless still great video! Keep up the good work!
This is a RERUN !!
Swear i seen this befofe haha still watching it again 🎉
I see a design that will catch and hold stagnant water, and dribble it out at the board ends.
I was hoping to see more building of the office today lol
Wasn’t this video uploaded a couple of months ago? You guys were working on the office/gym below?
Watched the 5 parts before not watching again.
You already uploaded this video last year, or am I wrong?
At least you already fitted the terrace with the waterproof floor covering last year.
But thanks again
Why am I under the impression that you guys had already fixed that deck? I remember it turned out amazing.. Maybe it's a re-upload?
Edit: Yep, just noticed the comments.. Happy to watch again anyway 😂
28:15 Do HVAC and couldn’t live without the 90 adapter.
Outdoor carpeting.. How to rot out a deck and be a health hazard at the same time!
Though christ with how messed up that deck was I would have just gone for completely rebuilding it from the ground up.
I love how you guys start with your tool belts on and lose them pretty quick over the course of the day .😅

Unless it’s slanted to runoff water, or sealed with plastic, it’ll fail. Years as a boat Wright dealing marine decks has taught me that lesson. Even a teak deck is seam sealed and contoured to run water off.
You missed the end caps to the decking you can see that from your lawn .
Rerun
You guys ever build decks out of wood? I have that angle drill jig thing. Your bits have to have a hex shank. Ceiling looks great. Real wood! I've built decks in SoCal out of DF. Is it code to have those gaps in the angled corners?
Lots of work to edit all that footage for a start 2 finish in 1 episode, nice work Erick, I forgot how dodgy some of that previous work was. 😮 Michelle 🇦🇺
Do the end caps of the waterproof portion have a drainage hole? And what about the 45 degree cuts, do those get caps that fit? Do pests stay out of it? I feel like it would instantly get a wasp nest.
I noticed the 45 degree ends were not capped in the drone footage at the end. The caps of the straight cuts appear to have drain holes. Didn't think about pests getting in. Good thought
45 cuts definitely makes it look unfinished
I have seen this before right?
Yes... i'm confused
Reupload? I remember watching this before.
Love your channel. How is that waterproof? As long as you don't get a full inch of rain. Look at the waterflow. It will spill over and drip down below.
yep.. luckily the deck is pitched 4 inches from one end to the other, so it drains pretty fast
havent we allready seen this video
We had this stuff for our pool deck, it leaked within 5 years, and after 10 it started cracking. Just a personal experience.
I'm heaving a déjà-vu here...
I keep a big rubber eraser in my pocket when I'm sanding for clearing clogged paper.
Hey I dunno what type of panels those are but plastic or vinyl gets brittle as it is exposed to UV light have you ever takes down old vinyl panels on east west exposed walls it gets chalky and cracks. It is what’s called hydrophilic
Question, if the deck is waterproofed, and the water seeps through the small gaps anyway and then gets trapped, isn't it just going to rot out eventually?
It runs down little channels with weep holes at the ends
