Love the fact that the USA are just learning about the washer/dryer. It’s been a thing in the UK for at least 25 yrs. crazy. Loving the fire pit, wish we had the defined seasons you guys have so we could have things like that. 👍🏻
Yeah, they are common in big RVs, the few people I’ve talked to say you have to run the dry cycle twice to actually get dry clothes but maybe the newer ones are more efficient.
Washer and dryer combo here in Europe starts from 400 eur. Saves lots of space, the only con is that the work cycle when washing and drying is min 4-5 h. So if you have many kids and need to do laundry often you can do max 2 full machine in a day. With different machines you can wash and dry at the same time.
The problem is that usually the machine doesn't have the same washing and drying capacity. So if you put the full load for washing, you should take out half of the clothes out if you want to dry it in one drying cycle. And then dry the other half later.
To complete this job, I might suggest when the temperature is suitable, to plant perennials around your pit more so close to where you've installed the lights to give that visual effect of an oasis.
My Grandmother had a combo washer/dryer unit back in the 50's. She got it to replace the Gas powered Maytag......sure took a long time for the world to come up with a new idea!!
So be very careful with the stones in your fire pit. Some seem to have been in the pond and there could be water in them. If that heats up a stone could crack or explode. Furthermore: if the fire pit has trouble getting a good fire dig a tunnel under the stones so some extra air can get to the fire.
It's probably good that they're doing this now, in the winter. That should give the stones some time to dry out... Although, judging from the scenes at the end of the video, I'd say it's a little late to worry about wet stones.
Good thinking with the air supply. Since there is a slope behind the bushes, they could hide the intake of some galvanized oven exhaust pipe behind the bushes and it would also function as drainage.
I've been camping my whole life and I'm 53 years old and have always used river rocks when available for fire rings and fire breaks and have never had a problem except for a rare cracking of a stone. Can it happen? Sure, but it probably won't.
16:04 We have those Washer/ Dryer Machines now since a few years maybe about 10 or so, So if you want to buy one, buy one from Europe, there are Cheap between 500 to 1000€ have a good Load Capacity, only problem would be the Electric Stuff, and the Plug
My opinion as an early adopter of the GE profile ultrafast is that it’s amazing. You have to recalibrate your mind to how the machine works and if you wash towels and clothes together the results can vary. But with some small adjustments to your routine the machine is down right awesome. I’m so happy appliances like this are finally making it to america. 16:39
in New Zealand in the early to mid 1980's a company here created a washer/dryer unit. They were FANTASIC....except, they were prone to leaking after a few years as the rubber seal would get hard from the dryer. But they were easily replaced and in most cases carried on working for years! Nice job on the fire pit too!
Just a quick pro tip for excavator so you don't tear up your grass. Use down pressure with the bucket when you want to turn, lifting the front of the tracks off the ground. That makes it so there is less of the track on the ground, less damage.
Wow. That sure was a very nice project. Although you guys built it as part of a good ole days work. Yall should've had a small BBQ or hangout with J, Ray, and Erica family. I think it would've been real nice. Love it PBB.
You chaps are deadly to watch I love yer episodes I look forward to finishing work and going home to sit and watch another one your videos yer just so straight up and honest bout everything ye do I love it
Careful using river stones and gravel around a fire pit - some will have absorbed water and can explode by steam pressure when heated with a big fire - ask me how I know!!!
Jason's envy is well founded; having those items right and ready for reuse was fantastic and the end result is so nice. I'm sure I'll be watching another build soon on another channel...
I grew up with a combination washer and dryer. We dried the clothes on the clothesline unless it was something special, even in the winter. Clothes freeze-dried makes them softer.
It is a series of boxes and tubing that you place underneath your firepit. It basically pulls the smoke from your fire and diverts it away from your seating area.
@@StallionFernando A smokeless fire pit, at least ones I’ve seen, are similar to rocket stoves where they draw the smoke back down into the fire to burn them off. They produce a lot less smoke and excess gasses that way, because most of it gets burned back off.
Dude! You guys are hilariousb 🤣🤣🤣 Washer/dryer combos have been around A LONG TIME! The are more popular in Europe, but RV’s and boats in states use them quite a bit. Thanks for the video! LOVE the fire pit!
Washer / Dryer combination is pretty common here in Europe. I don't know many people who actually have them though. They take forever and use a LOT more energy.
Yeah the traditional combos take less space and can ventless and/or run from standard voltage outlets, but also come with a lot of downsides. That's why they never caught on in the U.S. But the new ones like in the video are a game changer, they take advantage of improved heat pump tech to do a much better job with much less energy. At least that's what I've heard. Just bought one myself to install this week, will have to report back . . .
Your outro video clip says, “To be contined”. Really appreciate the videos as I usually learn something neat. TIL about not having a header required above a window in a non-load bearing wall.
Most of the rest of the world has only had combo washer/dryers for years/decades. Yeah, they're not happy unless they're working!
Washer dryer combo is like a normal thing here in Europe, they go as lower as 400$ for the smaller models :D
Euros?
We're so behind 😂
In my experience they are useless and take hours to dry your clothes. Far better with two dedicated machines
@@dapperdog2719 And I bet they have a lot of maintenance issues.

What an improvement from the pond - I am sure the firepit will be much more useful for the family. And a great repurposing of the existing materials.
I literally laughed out loud when Ray said "I've only taken two breaths since being here." 🤣🤣🤣

Good one lads. Really enjoyed it.
I love seeing the Perkins crew engage in landscaping-related activities; it's something we've never seen them do before.
Yes. I recall them saying a couple of weeks ago, “We don’t do landscaping.” I think they do now!

Those all in 1 washer and dryer machines, have been in use for years in Japan. I remember using them about 5 years ago in Tokyo doing my laundry.
are they any good thou? I'm guessing wash loads would need to be smaller and no more washing my comforter at home ☹
I find it takes AGES to do a wash in them.
We've had these for years in the UK! They have a down side too especially if you have multiple loads to wash.
The fire pit looks amazing, and it does look like something from a resort!
Great project! Looks fantastic. Enjoy.
That fire pit is AMAZING! You can add another line to your home building!

Hey we have that washer dryer combo, the most neat part imo is that it runs off a 110v outlet.
Upgrade from the pond catching the basketball to a fire pit incinerator balls. Looking good.
Amazing transformation from the ball magnet to the beautiful fire pit area, great work Perkins crew.

Looks awesome guy's
New Zealand had washer dryer combo machines back in the 90’s. Champion was the brand I had. Great machines.
In UK washer dryers are readily available. We had one until last month. Tbh we barely used the dryer function. But definitely a space saver.
A beautiful update on your property!!
That washer dryer is also 120v and ventless and it works amazing in our air bnb

Use the boom/bucket to pick up the tracks and rotate to make a turn so you minimize the lawn tear up..

Amazing job guys, chilly evenings sat around that with some marshmallows and hot chocolates will be lovely.
I've heard lots of people doing tiny house videos say they don't like the washer/dryer appliance because it takes so long.
If you do only 1 load per day they are better. Tiny house people shouldn't have a hoard of dirty laundry to begin with.
A note on the
washer / dryer combo. I am 61 years old and when I was a little girl, my grandmother had a Speed Queen washer/ dryer combination
Awesome guys!
Wow that came out really nice..
Well done
That fire pit area came out fantastic guys.
Much nicer and more useful!!

Perfect!! I love fire pits like that!

That is a very legit fire pit! Well done!
