HISTORY
The original owner leased the SL55 new in April 2004 and drove less than 10K miles by the end of the lease term in December 2007. The second owner purchased the roadster in December 2007 and drove only about 30K miles over the course of 15 years. Service was performed regularly throughout their ownership.

I own a gorgeous 2007 SL55 AMG with the 030 Performance Package (it is a unicorn - white with grey blue interior, p30 with Pano). I have just under 63k km on it. I maintain the car to high standards and carryout preventative maintenance similar to what has been done on the featured car. If treated well these cars are magnificent to drive and a pleasure to look at.
I only have one comment with regard to what the presenter says. These cars are high performance sports cars, one of the best Mercedes has ever produced, however similar to other exotics they are very expensive to own.
With that said maintenance costs on my car have been between 3500-5000 dollars (cdn) per year after the warranty period ended. I expected such going in so I am not surprised. The main cost drivers of late were the replacement of the P30/SL65 brakes and the ABC pump. Coming up next service will be a rear seal, replacement of date coded tires, upholstery cleaning, driver side left bolster dyeing, and chrome sill replacement (they get scuffed easily getting in and out of the car).
Although these cars are no longer one of the quickest cars on the road anymore they are worth every penny. I still catch myself staring at my car marvelling at it’s incredible design.
