Kristy! Your Hakka is absolutely pleasant to the ears. I never expected younger generations of Hakka moi(妹) like you to speak fluent Hakka. Your ancestors hail from Guangdong Mei xian (梅县)? Your grandma reminds me of mine. 🥰 She passed on when i was a teen. It has been decades since she passed on. She was in her early 60s. Gone too soon, methinks.
Such a lovely family gathering too. Noticed your family speaks Cantonese too. Like my family. We speak both because my mom's a Cantonese.
Thank you!😊 I know usually people are very surprised I can speak Hakka. My Grandma brought me up so I can speak it fluently! Yes I speak Cantonese too, I learnt it from going to Sunday Chinese school and watching TVB dramas 😃 So cool that you can speak both languages too! Are you in the UK?
