Dave, it’s 100 degrees here in Illinois. After watching this I have no other choice but to try and replicate it outside on the grill. Next time let’s save the cooking videos for cooler weather lol. Been watching your videos for longer than I can remember, always informative and entertaining. Thank you!
Just read the comments. You have the best subscribers. Most of my bush craft/survival knowledge comes directly from you via this channel. Thank you for all that you've done. Great burger and those rings look crunchy!!! Love this!
Dave...I absolutely love these cooking videos. I am so grateful for the effort that you put into each and every one and watching you eat is like the reward. Absolutely loved you on Dual Survival! I think I'm going to try and check out the Pathfinder School to work on my survival skills. Thank you again for all that you do and the entertainment that you bring in so many ways
When I started watching this channel a little over a decade ago, I never would have guessed that it would turn into a full blown cooking show. That said, I completely dig it. Thanks Dave. 👍
Good Onya Dave been watching you for a long time and I’m always respected you mad props the skills the things you teach and all that good stuff now seen in this way in a whole different light just resonates even more how much of a good guy you are mad skills and good times thanks mate much appreciated
My family and I have been watching your videos from the very beginning, we really enjoy it. I myself have ordered alot of stuff from your indy store and have been to your indy store on numerous occasions. From my family and myself, I thank you for your videos and the type of person that you are. You and your family have a wonderful holiday.
Thank you for using two slices of cheese, sir! P.S. We need an SRO camp apron with a photo of "Chef Dave" on it and the caption, "Hooo Man That's Good!" 😁
That's lookin' delish. Dave, ya gotta have tartar sauce for the onion rings, and the second coating needs to be seasoned Panko Bread Crumbs for even more crunch. Try a little corn starch in the flour mix too.
Howdy. This is the first time I've seen you doing anything since Dual Survival. I always liked your input, you seem like a good ol southern boy like me (I'm a 65yo from western North Carolina...as long as I'm learning, I'm still don't mind the "boy" in there. Lol.) Love your recipe and methods. Especially the onion rings. Glad to see you like cast iron cooking. You gotta be from the south, with all the yum you show here. I signed up, subscribed, looking forward to more of your videos. The extra beard threw me off a little, but I recognized your voice, then fine-tuned in on your facial features and tats to make sure it was you. Keep up the great works, Dave! You are doing an outstanding job!
Hell yeah always have new tricks as I’m watching this video Shadow dog heard your voice and immediately went looking for you lol awesome meal and a recipe all try👍✍️
Mr. Canterbury, I don't know if you know how your videos improve lives. Personally, I am 67, handicapped, use a walker and soon will be moving to a wheelchair. Cancer and heart conditions. I will never be able to go camping again. I rarely leave the house other than to go to my doctors. Your videos, and some of the others I subscribe to, take me where I can no longer go. While it obviously can never replace the actual camping, canoeing, hiking experience, they provide my escape from the drudgery of being in bed or my reclining lift chair. Thanks. (I am going to post this message in several of the channels I subscribe to.)
You're killing me! I bet the camera man is drooling all the while! I cook almost exclusively with my cast iron, except for boiling. Hope you had a great 4th of July! Thank you for showing me how to use creamy horseradish sauce with onion rings!
Bacon wrapped hotdog cooked on a stick over a campfire is my go to summer camping have to have! Toasted bun with yellow mustard and hickory sticks (potato chips). Deeeee liii cious
Outstanding David! Please talk the Corporal into also cooking this meal:-) Very nice meal setup, which I am going to benchmark. I'll include the funnel cakes as well.
Hey Dave, thanks for sharing this. If you have never tried crushing pork rinds and using them as pseudo “bread crumbs”, it adds a different taste profile while keeping that excellent crunch. 👍🏼 Happy Belated Independence Day brother - Scottie
The food looks great!!! I love a good burger . 🍔 where did you get that st. Elmos sauce? I go to the one in Indianapolis Indiana on special occasions! Great food there . Thank you for posting this video Dave! Take care and stay safe my friend
Made your SOS and biscuits so far, outstanding AF. Making rhis burger and rings this weekend. You should try the Corporals bacon burger between krispy kreme donuts
That looks GOOOOOD!!! Have you ever evaluated different ropes and cordage for survival use? Cotton, hemp, manila, nylon (550 cord NEVER seems to stop stretching!) etc. Some like to break, rot, cut through itself, knot poorly... You may be forced to use inferior stuff- do they still make baling twine?- so it would be nice to know what can be expected!
Better check on Zion (the cat) with all of those good smells in the air he should have been dancing on the table . We also enjoy a great burger and that looked like a great burger
Nice burgers and onion rings. You like your bacon cheese burger almost the same as I do. I like mayo and a slice of red onion and that's all. But hey you had onion rings so didn't need an onion slice. Thanks for sharing Dave.
Nice Bacon Cheese Burger, next time try frying the bun on the inside in the bacon drippings and a nice beer batter makes the onion rings really nice. If you want a heart attack on a bun take a pre cooked burger topped with a slice of Spanish onion and batter it and deep fry it. Great beer food. Enjoy the Holiday
Watch out Burger KIng.! Here comes DC Burger & he ain't kidding. Our Outback Cooking book is getting thicker by the week. Cheers mate. Always some simple but functional. Fine dining in the bush. Cowabunga.!!
It’s 0530 an for someone reason I have a major craving for burgers now. Enjoy sir. Gonna try an get some sleep and dream of burgers smothered in cheese.

Loving this series Dave. Can't decide if it is more fun watching you cook it or watching you eat it! Keep them coming
Put some corn starch in your dry ingredients for your onion rings. It will help the batter stick. Love this series. Boomer Sooner!

Egg in the milk for the onion rings so they won't fall apart and they hold more batter
"None of those veggies on my buger!" LOL I love your videos!

Is there anything you can't do? Lol. I bet not. What's your favorite cooking utensils that you use with your camp pots/skillets? Metal? Wood? Etc.

I love hanging out with you Dave ❤️👍✌️
No BS on my burger. The only way to eat it. Looks amazing.
What do you mean my cholesterol numbers are up? I've only been cooking bushcraft recipes! 🤣
If you like Sonic onion rings, instead of plain milk, dip them in sweetend condensed milk. Very tasty!
For camp burgers I always add 2 T of steak sauce to the ground round 😋,
Might as well just make a blooming onion they taste just as good. I can't remember how they make them at the Fair for sure, but it's easy.
I’ll say it again - I’m volunteering for KP duty when Dave is cooking!
Now I want one .. looks yummy
The way you went for the bacon I thought it might be a collab video with Corporal's Corner Shawn Kelly. HAHAHA
Looks great Dave
