    Yeah, or you can remove caliper itself at first , not to make all that mess and if you're going removing it anyway. As it instructed in Toyota service manual that is free online. And no need to open a valve and drain at all ( in that particular system at least). If you don't want to put stress on brake line, so why you did it on the first place by letting it hang and swing

      If someone was looking to change their brake pads only, they would then stop watching the video at 5:24 because they were shown how to get to their brake pads and troubleshoot if they were rusted. If they did your technique, someone who doesn't know how to replace their pads still won't know how without taking their caliper off. These videos by 1A Auto, they are helping people do step-by-step instructions for layman. First 30secs has them explaining how to remove lugs from a wheel, that means their target audience are those who don't know jack about jack; you are not their target audience.

    One thing I don’t recommend is bleeding the brake fluid to push the brake piston, unless u r doing a full brake fluid flush with the brake change

    Tried removing the rotor after taking the caliper off and the rotor WOULDNT BUDGE, e brake is off, and I even tried backing out the e brake shoes by spinning that gear downwards through the hole in the rotor and it did not help, any ideas ?

  • @dannyortiz3478

    What would it mean if when I put the the car in neutral to check the e brake it still rolls does that mean I need to spin that small wheel thing in the brake rotor ???

      +Danny Ortiz We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

    before you put the caliper back on, use a clamp and a piece of wood or cardboard to compress the pistons back so the pads will fit

    You lost me when you sprayed WD40 all over the brake pads and disc - there are better ways of doing it

      When did they spray WD40? @1:25? They removed and put new rotors and pads. @18:32? I heard and saw brake cleaner being sprayed.

    THE MAX N MIN LINES ON THE BRAKE RESERVOIR IS IRRELEVANT UNTIL YOU PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH THE IGNITION ON (ENG OFF) 40 TIMES AND ACTIVATE THE PUMP MOTOR, WHERE IT LIES AT THAT POINT, IS WHERE YOU JUDGE WHERE THE FLUID LINE IS.... THIS CAR USES THIS SPECIFIC MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE... ALSO THE CAR HAS TO BE FLAT ON THE GROUND.... THIS OF COURSE IS AFTER YOU BLEED ALL 4 BRAKES THOROUGHLY... PEACE

    You shouldn't show this vid, its tempting people to save money by repairing their brakes, I am not going to list the numerous errors I got bored after 10 anyway, my point is you are dealing with BRAKES, getting it wrong can kill small children etc, its totally irresponsible. kind regards Simon BEng.

    • @GunnyRaps
      @GunnyRaps 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not really ... You should be able to change your own brakes. It's not hard and the same on almost every car. Especially the rear brakes. I mean. Mine drove thousands of miles with loose pads in the back for probably years until I bought it. Never killed any children... At least it wasn't on the Carfax
