- If your car's rear view camera got a fogged up lens. This is a very cheap way to restore it.
Apply tape, warm up tape to give it a nice curve. Apply glue to seal. Several weeks, several car washes, hot summer - so far the tape holds up. Good luck.
Great video, thanks. After watching this my approach was slightly different:
1. before removing the lens assembly I marked the 12 o'clock position with a sharpie and counted the revolutions to remove. This gave me the starting point for the re-focusing during re-assembly.
2. After the windex, I used a very small amount of Turtle Wax lens clarifying compound with the q-tip applicator.
3. once clarifying compound was wiped clean, I used the alcohol.
4. once alcohol was dry I used a very small amount of Meguiars Headlight Protectant (in lieu of the tape).
I just re-assembled and I can't believe how much of an improvement it is for my '07 Odyssey EX-L. We'll see how long this clarity lasts!
George Kuffel how long did it last?
is it not possible to replace camera only?
When did you heat up the tape? Before you used the glue around the edge or after? Thanks for this helpful video!

Hi: Does the 2007 Honda Odyssey Touring have the grid line/reference line for backup camera?
Anil Rupnarain It does not, only the 2011 and above do!
