THANK YOU! I just used your video yesterday to replace my back up camera and it went perfectly! Your video literally covers everything, and we (hubby & I) were able to replace it with ZERO issues. We knew what to expect, especially when it came to getting to those clips to get the darn thing out. I'll add that I am the least "handy" person you'll ever meet. Can't believe we did it, and THANK YOU a ton. Dealer wanted $1,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ended up, all in, paying $50 total (for the camera and the pry tools).

Thanks to this video I was able to replace my back up camera myself. The estimate I got from the mechanic was astronomical. Took me less than 10 min to replace. Great video!

Great work Glen with all the steps of removal and installation! Even with the backup camera on the Escape, I still turn around when backing. I guess I'm from the old school too. Have a good one and don't work too hard! 😊
I use the mirrors but the camera can be useful.
Hey Glen, your video was very heloful. We had the exact same problem with the back up camera for my wife's 2017 Sonata. The dealer wanted over $1800 for the parts ( before labour and tax) We ordered a replacement camera from amazon for $125 and i installed it following your video in about 40 minutes.. thanks very much!

I bought the camera through your link, and got this done in 15 minutes start to finish. 100x easier than replacing the headlights on the Sonata (an actual nightmare which literally left me bruised and bloody).

Good video, I think the term is the lens is crazed and cracked. This helped to change my backup camera especially the clips

Great Video thanks. Only thing different I would do differently is I would plug it into and insure it is working properly before clipping it in. I would hate to have to remove those clips a second time!

Can't tell you without proper testing of the circuit but there is a very good chance that the symptom is due to a defective camera. Let us know how it turns out Shane.
My 1/4” tack lifter tool isn’t working to pop the things out from the trunk cover. Any ideas? What to use

Great info, my back up sensor in the dash has a orange tringle when i put it in reverse and don't beep when you backup close to a object. my local dealer checked it for me said i needed a sensor that's behind the backup camera, and said it would be 545.00 to fix, i got the part number 95720-C1000-S3B i looked that up and its a bumper sensor best i can tell. I saw on the paper someone had hand written left rear sensor bad. Would 1 bad sensor do that, do you know of something behind the backup camera. Thanks
not sure. It's almost impossible to diagnose something like that over the internet.
Yes just one bad sensor in the bumper will trip a light, usually it's caused by water that had gotten through the lens causing a short circuit. Typically this happens from high-pressure car washing or gasket failure if it's not just impact damage. The sensor itself isn't very expensive but removing the bumper to replace it is what's expensive.

If the camera has already been replaced with an OEM and the screen is still fixed blue (no flickering) is there anything else I have to do like reset it somehow? I checked the fuses and they're all good :(

This happened to my sonata camera once a few years ago! They replaced it for free under warranty. SAME thing started happening again about 1-2 years ago!
Seems like a common inferior product.
@@ozzstars_cars Just went to dealer today to see if they'd fix this. They said since my car is now out of warranty it would cost nearly $700 to replace. I'm grateful for your video and I may try this at some point.

You didn't repair the camera, you replaced it.
