Having to use DSC on those partially dated connectors (DisplayPort 1.4) means no DSR, which is actually pretty impactful as far as game visuals go depending on the title. Considering this is coming out in 2024 and AMD cards already support DP 2.1 and I'm sure future Nvidia cards will also use it, it seems pretty disappointing to not go with DP 2.1.

Yeah, none of the ports support 4K 240Hz *with HDR* even with DSC enabled.

DP 1.4 with DSC does support 4K@240Hz HDR @@Mageoftheyear (and of course HDMI 2.1 too, it does 188Hz and 153Hz for 4K SDR/HDR without DSC)
See Wiki, look under refresh limits for HDR video, then under "including compression", HBR3 (aka DP1.3+) works 4K@240Hz
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DisplayPort#Refresh_frequency_limits_for_HDR_video

Dang it! I just bought a Asus ROG PG32UQX mini-LED 144Hz monitor! Well, on the plus side the current 40 series GPUs can only do HDMI 2.1 and DP 1.4, so until the 50 series GPUs come out with DP2.1, getting 240Hz without compression issues will still be an issue with this model. I’ll look at getting one of these when I upgrade to the 5090 GPU.
On a side note getting 240 fps in a modern game at 4K Ultra settings will be extremely hard to do and new games will keep pushing GPU hardware to its limits. So 144FPS at ultra settings seems more realistic to me in graphically demanding modern games at ultra settings and ray tracing turned on. I’ll hang on to my Asus ROG PG32UQX for a while, since I don’t have to worry about burn in with a mini-LED display and still get great blacks and contrast.

I have been using LG C2 42'' for 9 months, mostly for gaming and movies, but also for work sometimes. It is perfect for gaming. I keep all the pixel-burning protection features enabled - they are not annoying at all as some reviewers say and the panel is still perfect. And 120hz@4k is about the limit my 4090 can handle anyway. HDR/Brightness is good enough. It is great that there are more OLED options which means older models will get cheaper. And burn-in is not a thing anymore unless you use it for work all day on full brightness same content. But for a lot of people 42'' might be too much, so this 32''could be the perfect size/pixel density. Of course the 240hz@4k means you will need to use the DP 1.4 with DSC, but I have a 4k@144Hz LG IPS running DSC and I don't see the difference in quality at all when running it without DSC. Maybe this is more noticeable on OLED, will see.

For me, 120Hz or 144Hz makes no difference. Anything above 90FPS usually feels the same, for me, except for some FPS games I have tried on a 165Hz monitor and that I could notice. I have never tried more than 165Hz, but I guess the big jump from 120 to 240Hz is very noticeable, 120 to 144 not so much if at all. @1337kaas
