Your wording is extremely misleading to customers, it goes to 265 nits in SDR, 450 nits can only be reached when uniform brightness mode is off and the content of the image is mostly black.
yea uniform brightness mode just limits the brightness to whatever the full screen brightness is capable of im pretty sure. I would never use it, even if SDR really isn't meant for anything over 200 nits.
This is incorrect. Full white screen brightness is very rare in real world usage, so the actual max scene brightness you can get is a lot higher, more than double the full screen nits. For example, Rtings tests real scene brightness. With mostly black screen the highlight could be around 1000 nits.
@@Cuthalu The point is that most people using this in SDR are not using an option that let their brightness fluctuates based on the content of the screen. That's why all the prominent monitor reviewers compare the brightness with these modes disabled.

F that. The pq is way better on ur monitor, as it's qd-oled. I'm not a big fan of woled. Don't forget, color filters block 2/3 of the light. Other than white, qd-oled gets 3 times as bright.
@@crowntotheundergroud what a big dogshit are u talking about 🤣 It's best to never watch "Display Guy" videos again.
colors are completely off target. all games look like a "comic filter". QD OLED also loses a lot of brightness over time. Burn in is a joke. watch the test on the TV's. Eye strain is real and your first pair of glasses is coming soon. OLED stands for real black and not magenta shit. Let light into your life and don't lock yourself in a dark room
I've had both alienware and asus oled side by side. Was not impressed with alienware it also had a green tint to the color. I kept asus glossy 240hz
qd oled text color frimging is UNBEARBLE
Thank you! Is text carity better than qd oled?
3:40 Does this mode adds some additional latency/lag/blur? Do you think playing in this mode would be better than playing on ZOWIE XL2586X 540hz 24inch 1080p TN?
Because on this Asus you get OLED and almost instant response + more sharper. But idk if this mode adds additional lag.
You get all the benefits. Doesn’t add lag either as far as I’m aware. I’ve tried the dual mode monitors and they were horrible this one is on another level. hope this helps.
not mentioning the burn in that may occure? Thats why im still on the fence about oled monitors in general.
It's not a big concern. Don't let that stop you from shopping a oled. Just make sure to not leave it for hours on a static picture and you will be fine.
What is the silver thing on the desk
that 1300 nits claim is not on a 100% window we need to know how much is it in a 100% window
it's actually the brightest OLED so far at 275 nits full field and 750 nits at a 10% window
I just bought the 32" ROG Swift PG32UCDP coming from an ASUS uhd lcd/ips panel...the picture is really nice and crisp but for $1,300 it is not worth it...these monitors are for hardcore gamers or people who have money to spend. Eventually OLEDs will get cheaper
what is the best 360hz oled monitor?
Alienware I think
Is brightness higher than AQN?
I'm assuming ur talking about the 360hz qd-oled. If that's the case, the brightness superiority is limited to whites. qd-oled still has FAR brighter colors. I wouldn't sacrifice the superior pq for the bump in refresh rate. This monitor is still marginally a better gaming monitor.
can you turn off asus logo light?
Yes you can in the settings
I'm about to upgrade from 1440p lcd 165hz aorus monitor to either asus swift PG27AQDP or ASUS SWIFT PG27AQDM. which monitor is worth buying and I will honestly get my money's worth. I get over 240fps on CALL OF DUTY but yeah don't want to overpay for a monitor that not going to be greatly noticeably different. Please help me with an option that's going to be beneficial to me but be better than my current monitor even if it's different brand and model that is being advertised thank you greatly appreciated.
240 hz vs 480 hz (You can answer you question by yourself)
@@orion9k but no GPU rn will put out that FPS
480hz nimrod
You're the GOAT
just got mine but only works in windowed fullscreen as games think the monitor is 4k so it caps it to 120hz
@@NorthCamZ did you change the setting in your advanced display to 480 and use the cable provided in box?
@@BTaesthetics I did yep. Turns out the issue is when using hdmi 2.1. With display port it works fine 🤷🏻♂️
Nice review and great monitor. But the question is you can get above 400 fps with 4000 series card even at 2k? 😏
Easily on e-sports games, unless there's a cpu/ram bottleneck. You don't always have to run super hyper max ultra settings. Usually after med-high settings the visual return for extra power used becomes significantly worse.
we don't wanna get above that at all
At 10:24 you accidentally said M instead of P but i think most people will realise
i cant believe they didnt include dp 2.1
if i buy thist monitor and pc does only 200 fps it is fine ? (ill upgrade my pc later)
Sure.
Yes. You just don’t get the full benefit of the high refresh rate until you upgrade your PC.
We need HDMI 2.1 capable GPUs right? Something to keep in mind...
hhmm no
i think i saw something from optimum (tech) reviewing it and something of compression
Display port* and you don't need it.
pg27aqdm vs pg27aqdp ?
Bro you should clean spiderwebs behind your monitor first
Me watching this on a 144hz at 500fps👁️👁️
why nobody do ai maper feature
ELMB would be fine for people who play some games that don't reach past 240Hz.
Quite the opposite, elmb is good for 240 above and below 480 (say apex legends) cause the 480 hz mode has vrr but not the elmb mode
@@LoneBeastYT But the monitor has to run at either 240Hz or 120Hz to use it. I'm saying that's ok seeing as there are plenty of games out there that cannot go past 240.
@@georgebaggy ohh you meant elmb for 120hz?
Fair enough but honestly I cba to tweak settings each game and likely would keep it on variable refresh rate and only enable elmb in the specific situations. Not to mention that it lowers brightness when using elmb
TEAM GLOSSY!!
Eek! I just ordered mine three hours ago and thst colour bsnding on the Porsche headlights at 3:16 are making me sweat. Hopefully it's ok via DVI or hdmi 2.1 supplied cable....
when monitors cost almost the same as a FULL 1440p ultra/4k low settings PC...:/
😢 yeah
Its matte tho, mattte hurts the quality
nah it doesnt, the oled mattes look 10/10. i love it and prefer it over my old glossy alienware qd oled
@Snxgur must not care about grain, it looks likke a painting and makes it look like lcd because of the spread of light hitting the screen, and yes I've seen both in person, side by side, i feel it would need to be semi glossy matte to be even worth considering, i want a 480hz oled, but the matte is absolutely disgusting
ill buy it when the make it 32""!
4:11 yea i hope so and my 4k TV looks better than any 1080 TV on the market
matte all the way bro you cannot always control the light in your room i have a glossy qdoled tv 55 inch s90c samsung and the purple i cannot stand this lg woled panels are just magic i swear
i had the 32gs dual mode 4k240hz and returned it for this monitor im waiting for it to arrive!!
yeah im with you. i love this matte coating they use, its so much better then my old IPS coating. asus did a realy good job with it,
wont buy an oled when you have roughly 1 k hours of use before starting to have some form of degradation (burn in , image retention , etc...) especially when they are so expensive , at that price point you'd expect a monitor to last 5-6 years at a bare minimum lol
When these monitors are closer to 600$ everyone will get one
Acer 600hzt is coming as well.
I’ll wait for 960hz.
@@petrkumbera1291 lol
my 1440p computer can't even hit 60 fps on AAA games and theres at 480 hz monitor
It’s sold out everywhere
worth upgrading from 240hz tn
Definitely
5:00 BRUHHHH ive been avoiding all Joker 2 trailers cause i dont want anything spoiled. i cant believe some random ass monitor review is the reason why my "no trailer streak" is broken. FFS man whyyyyy couldnt you just show a movie that has already been out for a while. This movie JUST RELEASED.
You can buy a 240Hz 1440p OLED right now for $550. Is that 480Hz worth double the price? I don't think so.
Also, I'll never trust that dual mode feature. They have issues in some games. Some games refuse to work in the 24'' mode, sometimes the refresh rate refuses to reach 480Hz, sometimes adaptive sync doesn't work, It's a mess. I recently bought a 24'' 1440p 240Hz IPS. I'll keep using it until we start getting proper 24'' 1440p OLEDs.
wooow and this monitor not have ulmb2 for 1k ? wtf
cant give us everything all at once you know what im saying lol
@@BTaesthetics for 1k yes they can
Ulmb 2 is from nvidia Asus need to Pat nvidia for that Technology and in para ulbm not work in oled panels that why
-Ulmb and Lmb is diferent
the response times are so low on these new OLEDs theres literally no need for ulmb. they look as good as DyAC2 due to the response time so why bother?
not really needed for 480hz OLED. There are comparisons out there, basically no difference
450 nits, not full screen white thats for sure.
been using a 4k240 oled and switched back to my 1440p 360hz oled. It looks like shit compared to the 4K, might actually choose resolution over refresh rate for the first time in my life lmao
I just got the 4k240 and I’m afraid of this happening to me aswell! But on the other hand I really like 480hz
I want ti sell my 240hz asus monitor pg27
i'll think so
cause price is more irrelevant to my eyes than quality made for eyes
and therefore 240hz is no quality
it just has some
?seen no blurbusters pic for 1000hz?
1000 and 480 are way better than 240.
and seen it live, kinda sad how bad my 4k 240 oled is
i hope for an firmware update to 480hz, cause that's still nowere near the status of endgame or to leave it on the desk forever
after 4 years you'll see it if you thought beeing sensitive to it before and really been
40 pics of a mousecursor isn't a cyrcle. it pretens seeming like one. with 80 pics we can decide again then
This has been sold out from asus and newegg since launch. No other retailers have it either, not best buy, B&H video, microcenter, no one. Sh*t reminds me of covid
Well the launch was like week ago 😂 During covid certain things were OOS for like 6 to 9 months.
@@lepari9986 Acer, Alienware, and LG don’t even have their versions out yet. Just crazy, what did they launch with 300 monitors world wide?
Glossy plz.
Philips 1440p OLED 360hz cost 650$ so 1440p 480hz should not cost more than 800$ it's just extra 120hz and New pixel layout. In 2026 we there will be tandem OLED monitors they will have 2 Times higher Fullscreen brightness than current OLEDs so they have to work less to get decent brightness Asus pg27aqdp has only 265nits Fullscreen brightness. I have an Asus pg248qp 1080p 540hz TN yeah it's shit compares to 1440p 480hz OLED but I'll hold it until tandem OLED 540hz monitors 😅
oled asus 480hz is the best monitor money can buy right now for comp fps
matt 100%

That intro is super sexy. Love this video and the visuals. That’s a really good monitor, pricey, but you pay what you get.
Thank you m!
