Lots of good information so thank you. However I'm not sure you told the difference between them just the dosing difference. Is there any difference at all between them in terms of what they do or don't do? Thanks!
They’re pretty similar actually since they’re from the same drug class. You’re right though, the differences lie mostly within dosing and length of time they work in the body.
Hey...very informative. I'll share this around because I know alot of people who depend on these for their everyday pain. Hope you're having a good Sunday! 😊
@@thesunnyedge Definitely is...I am currently packing and putting things in place...leaving for a little trip on Friday for a week...yeah I know Friday is still far away. Lol. But I just like to be prepared and not hurry at the last minute. 👍😀

Attention all alcoholics/fatty liver/liver cirrhosis people: stay away from NSAIDS. When you’ve got liver damage, your bodies ability to make platelets (needed for clotting) is impaired. If you end up with an ulcer, you may experience severe esophageal/gastrointestinal bleeding. I’m sharing this because my husband is a recovering alcoholic and he ended up with severe esophageal bleeding after taking NSAIDs (without my knowledge). He vomited copious amounts of blood because his liver was so damaged from drinking. I was worried he’d die. He survived, he’s alcohol free (8 months), but I wanted to share this if it can help anyone else. I, on the other hand, take Aleve for arthritis pain and it’s helps tremendously!
Thanks for video. Btw as an European it is so weird for me to see bottles of 200 or 500 tablets in your drug stores.. Here is usually pack of 12 or max 24.
That’s how it should be in my opinion. There is a false sense of security over here with “over-the-counter” drugs. Often people think because they can buy them off the shelf there’s no dangerous side effects, but that’s far from the truth. Thank you for your comment!
Thank you! I have chronic lower back pain and usually take motrin for my cluster headaches but does not seem to help my back when it acts up. I will try neproxin sparingly.
Whats BEST for Tooth / Wisdom Tooth Pain, I've tried Acetaminophen and it didn't help at all. What brand brand should I use? I'm considering Aleve Headache Pain Reliever Naproxen
Good morning quick question I have been feeling squeezing by my heart and my doctor thinks it’s pleurisy, and he told me I might have inflammation around my heart so he prescribed me naproxen for 14 days 500mg should I take this?
Enjoyed your video. Still had a question, I have Hypertension and i take Aleve PM at night for sleep i also have a prestricption for Lunesta (which I very seldom take). Given that i already take Amlodypine for Hypertension, should I be using either one o these since they are both considered NSAIDs? Thanks,
I came here to learn about the differences between aleve and advil but you never said anything about the differences. I am disappointed about that, however your general information about how the drugs work was informative. Please change the heading about "The differences" in your video.
They are actually pretty similar drugs, the differences are in the length of time they work, dosing, and who can take each. These are outlined around the 5 minute mark in this video. Thank you for watching!
Ive taken over 4400mg of ibuprofen in a day and i felt fine, aside from the fact my back never quit hurting(only did that much once, i believed ibuprofen to be useless for a few years after that). I tried to test naproxen the same way and bruuuuuhhhhhh i took 7 or 8 within 30 hrs tops and for about 30 minutes after those laat couple i felt like dying. Learned that day to never test the gangsta of alieve.
To answer your question on who is taking that. Veterans. Veterans are taking that much because no matter the injury we receive a ziplock bag full of 800 mg and told to take if we still feel pain. When my back was injured i was eating about 10+ a day. When my femur was busted, about 6. All to come home and be told by the VA they don't see anything wrong according to any paperwork they have, and to go away. Costco though is good to know, CVS is getting expensive.
I guess no I can see the anesthesiologist And nurses Almost had a heart attack when I told them. I was taking 4000 mg of Ib pro for the day because of my wisdom tooth pain. The pain was extreme but I couldn't afford the $4500. It took to pull my wisdom teeth for the third time. Lol
I'm in the same situation, I've tried Acetaminophen and it didn't help at all. What brand do you use? I'm considering Aleve Headache Pain Reliever Naproxen
@@SacrificiaLamb.The.Gixxerator just use the equate brand of ibuprofen. That's what worked best for me. Naproxen don't work either. It's mainly for arthritis. Tylenol only helps pain and not inflammation. Tooth pain is from inflammation and infection. Aspirin and ibuprofen are the only 2 that reduce inflammation.

@@thesunnyedge I’m a recovering opioid/heroin addict 3 years clean today 4/18/21, actually. But, I always kinda had this misconception that anything you get off the streets or from a Dr can potential be dangerous and/or addictive and everything OTC is completely harmless. Wish the info you gave was something that was more well known
I really appreciate you pointing this out because it seems a lot people have the same misconceptions about over-the-counter medications and don’t realize the dangers some of them carry.
5/18/2021 Doc, you are too verbose. TH-camrs, jump to 5.0 minutes for the diff. The Principal difference is the period of relief per tablet. Ibuprofen period of relief is 6 - 8 hours. Naproxen period of relief is 10-12 hours, and so the max daily dose of Naproxen is less than ibuprofen.
Honorable Doctor, Greetings, I ask you for permission to raise this point in the Islamic religion. can you cycle on and off nsaids? 5 days on 5 days off?
Which is best for a pinch ulnar nerve to reduce inflammation 😅?
Ibuprofen or Aleve probably Aleve
The one that I try to avoid the most is Aspirin since it’s a blood thinner but Alka Seltzer has aspirin in it so can’t avoid it completely lol
How about nerve pain?
NSAIDS typically don’t provide much relief for nerve pain. There are some prescription alternatives that can help.
Gabapentin

Is Advil OK to take while passing a kidney stone if I take Lisinopril for HBP? It was recommended by ER doctor with Tylenol upon discharge.
I would give your primary doctor a call and see what they advise. They know your case best. Feel better!
