I've visited India and Thailand for extended periods. I enjoyed the food in both countries and I found that my arthritis pain was decreased. When I return to the US the affect stayed with me for a few weeks and then the arthritis pain returned. Both countries use a lot of turmeric, pepper (blank and white), and very hot peppers (capsaicin).

When I was in India, the ladies I worked with say that whenever they finish a bottle of turmeric or curry powder, they put a little water in the bottle, swish it around and drink it. I take a couple of capsules a day, but with the other meds I'm on, I probably need to reconsider that.

I am on Norco (from my pain doctor) but the Norco sometimes gives me nausea. One night I was in a lot of pain and decided I would consume some ginger before the Norco to prevent the nausea. Ate about an inch-long piece of the fresh root. About half an hour later I realized the pain was decreasing. An hour later it was mostly gone. Never did end up taking the Norco that night. I've used the ginger, sometimes adding turmeric extract, for these night neuralgia attacks ever since, and it has cut down quite a bit on my use of Norco.

(81 mg aspirin) It prevents the platelets from aggregating in the blocked coronary arteries, and can keep someone having a heart attack alive long enough to get them to the hospital. If it's one adult size aspirin, (375 mg) they can still chew it for the best and fastest way to get into the blood stream. It won't taste very good, but I'm pretty sure being dead tastes worse. I've found that sometimes one of those will work very well on a certain type of pain and another will not do anything whatsoever. An example I can give was I was having very severe pain with an inflamed Achilles tendon and could barely walk. Tylenol extra strength did absolutely nothing to relieve it and I mean it was as if I hadn't taken anything at all. I bought Ibuprofen and the results were amazing. There was a great reduction in pain and the tendon went back to normal between a week or two. Other times it seems aspirin was just the ticket. At other times Tylenol seemed to work much better. I've only tried Aleve once and got no benefit from it at all.

Medscape has an interaction checker tool. It's helpful

What dosage of turmeric would you suggest for sinus inflammation? If taken long term for this, is there anything I should be aware of? Thank you!!

Did you ever do the podcast on Glucosamine? Thank you for all you do!

I’d like to know more about the Glucosamine too, as well as Chondriten(spelling?) and MSM, which I’ve seen all three together in several brands, for joint pain. Have you tried any of these, or turmeric?

@@poppylove3673 , yes, I have used turmeric; not certain if I noticed any significant benefit in using this spice, although, I actually used the Curcumin supplement. I was just listening to a podcast on EVVO; olive oil, as being effective.

Both Aleve and Ibuprofen make my face, hands, and other extremities swell. I use either Turmeric and Tylenol. Very rarely I use aspirin but not very often. Appreciate the video! I just subscribed today on a different video!

Tumeric on wounds has healed them so fast! Topical with cbd oil, and orally, makes me feel better all over, and I have multiple health problems.

In my opinion the best combo for headache is Asprin/Acetaminophen (Tylenol) and caffeine
it is actually branded under the name Excedrin which has been FDA approved for migraines for decades.

I feel that this a very fair and accurate appraisal of NSAIDs. Would love to see more of a comparison against herbal anti-inflammatories

    • @ObjectiveZoomer

I think you missed something. Turmeric carries bleeding risk like the other NSAIDs, because it is an NSAID. Don't forget that Aspirin was derived from the extraction of willowbark. Herbal anti-inflammatory is not a valid category. There are only active compounds and inactive compounds. In the turmeric in there is an active compound that acts a certain way because of its nature.
