I used to have these boots for 4 years the non gtx version but the one with revit own membrane. Sizing was on the small side so I wore them but couldn’t use very thick socks without feeling uncomfortable. Also they were leaking in heavy rain travel days. I contacted revit and asked them to make a gtx true to size version and apparently they already knew it and were working on it. They had some trouble getting the gtx membrane they said cause they had to commit to a minimum pairs of boots produced in order to get the membrane by gore. Anyway i have now changed to sidi adv2 boots which are also an amazing boot super durable good protection and good looking. Also has the gtx membrane and is taller so far 2 years not once they leaked.
The protection the Sidi Adventure 2 offers is significantly worse than the expedition. Bret Tkcacs has great videos explaining that most "adventure" boots dont offer good protection for offroad. The expedition is a bit of a unicorn since it is very comfortable, waterproof and still has protection that is arguably even better than Alpinestar Tech 7 boots. Stay safe :)
@@Sweetw4ter I’ve seen the video and I agree of course that expedition is a great boot offering high protection with comfort and waterproofing. They are in my watch list and I might get them but this was about the revit discovery which is a step down.
Just ordered my first pair of waterproof shoes. I will be going on my first long tour next week, and it was important for me to stay 100% dry since the weather here in Europe is quite unpredictable right now. They are quite expensive, but Revit's quality speaks for itself. I'm sure I won't be disappointed. Thanks for the review.
Excellent review. Ordered a pair a day before the video came out and I am so impressed with the quality and comfort. My only worry was the longevity but you have put my mind at ease.
Had a set of these, they are indeed super comfortable, but for me if you're riding off road wear proper off-road boots, a simple tumble could lead to life changing ankle injuries in something like this. I ride pretty much year round in Sidi Crossfire boots, I race in them, do multi day rides in them, they are soooo comfortable - but you wouldn't wanna walk a mile in them - I think it's a bit of a myth that MX boots aren't comfortable when they are, they just aren't good for walking around town in! I've found with everything I've bought from Revit ive had to go one size bigger, defo had to get the 45 in these when normally I'm a 44.
Great review and very tempting, I am almost sold…. However, I reminded myself of last season and realised my separate pairs of winter and summer boots cost less than these…. But I love the wind up sinch system, I have the same on my Furygan summer boots, an excellent system.
Hey there cracking video, just a question. I have purchased these boots after watching this video. Can you remember when you first put them on where you walking around like Herman Munster? Put them on for the first time and dam there rigid. Take it it's just a case of waring them in? Hope so as there a cracking boot. like you say no problem with the gear shifter at all. Thanks very much.
These look great, but I'm not keen on the brown suede. All black and they'd be perfect. I'd have a pair if I was in England. I like the Boa system. Nick
Do like them, albeit they are expensive. But, apparently your feet are in second place after your head in the vulnerability stakes when accidents happen. - As they do. What price keeping your feet intact? BTW, who was the athelete giving the running demonstration early on in the vlog? Good info. Ride safe 👍 Ps. Are they easy to clean? My boots are always needing a wash or brush up.
FYI, I’ve found the perfect combo of these boots with, Mobius knee braces. The bower button acts as a rest stop for the bottom of the Mobius so no movin up or down,. Absolutely rock solid combo of saftey. ❤❤❤🎃🎃👍👍🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧🏍️🏍️
Hello Are the boots stiff when shifting gears on the motorcycle? I had a pair of adventure boots from a different brand, that i used 2 time, because I felt it was so stiff, i almost could manouver my foot when shifting up and down.
After getting an answer from Revitt they said the boot was not designed to be resoled. I did take the boot to my local cobbler who said it was possible if you could find the identical sole to replace it with. The issue was with the toe area as the sole of the rubber comes up over the toe (known as a bumber toe I believe) After checking the Vibram range I couldn’t find the exact sole. So I am presuming Vibram have designed this sole exclusively for this boot. The nearest possible candidate as a replacement could be their art.01120 FLAME, a sole designed for its flame resistant properties which does have a bumber toe design. Anyway I’m not sure if I will do enough walking in these to ever wear the soles out but I wanted to try and get to the bottom of the question I asked here. Perhaps there are soles out there that would work? Please post here if anyone does know. Btw I’m Tony I’m delighted with the my purchase. Comfortable straight out the box, just and issue with sizing. Personally had to size up one.
Hi Beverley, hard to tell, quite often the cheaper ones are just that, poor quality that doesn’t last, but it’s not always the case. It’s a bit pot luck with the cheap ones.

I bought this boot for ride and camp . Very satisfied with it

So far theser have kept my feet dry for thousands of miles

Hi Tony, a great review thank you! I picked a pair up at my local Honda dealership just after Christmas for £280, so was over joyed with this.
Cheers, that was a good deal!

I will need to try these on but they do look like a quality boot. Thanks for the review. 👍
No problem 👍
Good review don’t mind paying out on boots and a lid but happy with most rst/alpine star/knox offerings for tops, trousers and gloves
I plan to try on a pair soon
Can’t agree more with your review. I am already on my 2nd pair! Excellent choice!! 👍👌
Did you not consider a resole or was that not an option?
@@jjnewman65 that is an option that I did not yet consider. I did not yet dispose my old pair. Should definitely go for that option.

Another great review. Thanks

Hi Nick, They do offer them in all black, but not ideal for your climate 😂
didnt remember mention of if they are they true to size, but might have missed as was doing other things in the bacground
Yep, it’s in the video, and they do
@@mancavemoto thanks, liked part about wide feet, have same issue. probably will be my boots for lighter riding next to sg12
How would you compare/rate them to the TCX Drifter boots which you had before? Which one you prefer more?
Both great boots, but I prefer these. The boa system makes things much easier. Comfort wise there’s nothing between them though

Haha that was me, the slo No makes it look better. Yep you can scrub them with some soapy water then use a suede brush to bring them back
Thanks !

Hello
Are the boots stiff when shifting gears on the motorcycle? I had a pair of adventure boots from a different brand, that i used 2 time, because I felt it was so stiff, i almost could manouver my foot when shifting up and down.
No, they are pretty flexible, not like an MX boot.
Nice one Tony. I’m interested. Do you know if they could be resoled? I’m not sure myself.
Good question, I'm not sure Jamie, I'll try and find out
To my knowledge, any good cooler can resole any boot with Vibram soles

Yep, I have a question about those boots - Where can I get a pair for free please as I cant afford them? 🤣
Yeah, they were a bit of an investment! but i'm glad i made it.
Quick question unrelated to these boots.
Is it worth spending £70 plus on a clipon defector for screen or can you get away with £20 on Amazon
Hi Beverley, hard to tell, quite often the cheaper ones are just that, poor quality that doesn’t last, but it’s not always the case. It’s a bit pot luck with the cheap ones.
@@mancavemoto ok just seems over the top to pay £70 plus for a bit of plastic. Screens/deflectors are such a lottery!!!
I wear these and don’t even have a motorbike anymore. My favourite pair of boots. When i eventually wear ‘em out, i reckon I’ll buy another pair.
I sold my bike and still wear my helmet when I go shopping.
Who’s that good looking bloke in the jeans ?
😂
