A premium tire from a season or two ago (but of current manufacture). You get a fantastic tire with the resultant reduction in price brought on by manufacturers rolling out the ´latest and greatest´ just about every year. In my case, I run S21 Battlaxx. I used Maxxis Supermaxx Sport sp, the grip level on track was so good just didnt like the way the bike rolled into the corner as i'm used to the bike falling into the corner with the likes of bridgestone. If they had that bridgestone feel i would definitely use them.
Metzeler Roadtec for the wet and cold, Dunlop for touring/longevity and Bridgestone s22/23 for making the local streets unsafe. That being said, I dont think you can go wrong with any modern tire assuming you choose a reputable manufacturer and dont have any special requirements beyond track days.
Bandit 1250 full Dale Walker stage 2, upgraded front and rear suspension. All year round everyday riding with weekend rides, canyons, mountains, , with a pillion, and top case......Road 6 GT. Incredible in all road conditions. And when it has lost grip, as in a slide, it's very gradual with lots of feel early on, easy to make adjustments.
Awesome bike! Great tire choice. I bought a V-Strom 1K from one of Dale's fabricators (with an Arrow and 17" Holeshot) who used it to prototype some parts. Great Road 6s on it. Good guys there, all of them!
Love Pirelli for track days due to the profile (and therefore quick tip in). Before I moved to slicks on my S1000RR, I loved the Supercorsa SP - phenomenal but very fast wearing on a liter bike. Diablo Rosso Corsa IV are almost as good, but last significantly longer and provide excellent value for money. On the road bike (MT-10SP) I love the Michelin Road 6. I’ve done touring and fast twisties, wet and dry, hot and cold, and they are almost the perfect tyre for this setup.
Don't tell me this! I just went thru a set of rosso iv on my firebalde. I was able to get 3400 miles out of them. I'm trying out the SP v4 next. [fingers crossed] I'm praying they last nearly as long.
Nice summary of the current state of affairs, thanks guys. Switched from Rosso 4s to Angel GT2s on my S1000R recently to tour in Thailand (I’m based in Malaysia). First 1500km they felt a bit sketchy but since they bedded in properly I’ve had no qualms riding “spiritedly’”. 4 k in and showing very light signs of wear. Very happy with them.
i ride 320-340 days a year in any and all conditions (rain, snow, ice, typhoons) 40kms per day, and i use michelin Road 4,5,6 on my CB400SB, and they grip onto everything. Especially Road 5's are super dependable. a few times i lost grip on washed out mud or black ice in the corners and the tire regains grip VERY quickly. love them!
This was a great video. I feel like there needs to be more detailed tire comparisons. Once upon a time there were, now it just is a bunch of launches and people saying (insert brand name here) are great tires
Bridgestone S22 and now s23 are the sweet spot for road riding IMO. The rear suffers a little in terms of grip compared to more sporty tyres like Rosso IV Corsa but the front provides better feel and great grip. On an R9T I get about 4000-5000km on the rear before hitting limitors on the sides of the tyre - centre holds up longer. Front holds up closer to 6000-8000km.
If you aren’t doing track days, Michelin Road 5/6’s are all you need for the road. I do not purposely ride in the wet and get my knee down regularly. These tyres are phenomenal on the road. The mileage you’ll get from these will surpass everything! Used on a 1290 Superduke R.
1200 miles ago put a pair of Metzeler Z6 on my Honda CBR1100XX-2. It is the first time I have used these on my Super blackbird and I am very happy with them indeed, wet and dry they stick like glue in conditions where other tyres I've used in the past have had slips. For any Super Blackbird rider who has not tried the Metzelers Z6 try them, they are old&cheap but boy I really do rate them highly for the Super Blackbird (2002).
I just rode two days ago my dads Blackbird for the first time and it’s just a awesome bike congratulations on having that monster, by the way he had some old Batlax and I didn’t find the great mainly on curve exits
Metzeler M7rr / Metzeler M9rr . For the riding I do I find them to be confidence inspiring , good on all paved surfaces ,even our ' B ' roads here in Oz and I get good mileage out of them .
Versys SE: I started with Pirelli Angel 2, great tyre under all conditions never had a problem, for me they dive to agressive in the corners, shifted to Bridgestone T32, very comfy, very neutral but had several unpleasant surprises in the wet, they break out without warning. The last tyre a had on my Versys was the Micheling Road 6 and they amazingly good under all conditions. Now I’m on a Kawasaki 1000sx touring with Bridgestone S22. 3000km without a problem and in all weather conditions. After my T32 a lost my confidence in that brand. I’m hesitating between Michelin Power 6 or the Road 6.
I put Michelin Road 6s on my R9T, Thruxton R, Breva Sport, and Tiger 900 and will put them on my Kawasaki Z900RS SE too when these Dunlop wear down a bit. I love these obviously.
I ride everyday in Lisbon, Portugal (good weather with the sometimes PLENTY and VERY USUAL rain in the worse months). Went from Bridgstone (the popular cheap sports like BT-016) to Michelin (Road 5) to Continental (RoadAttack 3 and 4). Sport Touring tyres just made sense for me at some point. Never had big problems with any but the Continentals... don't want to leave them anytime soon. Don't remember a slip, a spin, a slide, a scare. And all tyres last with me so these do too. At the moment, I'm team Continental all the way. Ps: I have a 2011 Hornet, if that matters.
Glad you like them, but to me they're garbage. Had them on both supermoto and car and I find them low quality. The ones I had on the car really vibrated a lot, even though I tried balancing them many times. They were so bad I thought the rims were bent. A set o Pirelli proved that the rims are perfect. Nothing but issues with Continentals. From poor grip in the cold to noise and balancing issues.
You guys know your stuff. Great discussion and I cannot disagree with any of it. Modern tires are great and on the road, we really get away with most of them, as pointed out. On the ADV thing, I'd consider the newer 80/20 tires to be quite good on the road but I would ride them fully on-road. They're not too noisy, have good longevity, and have much better grip than I'd expected. Currently have Pirelli Rally STR on a 1290 ADV and they're stupendous on the road. I've seen people take them off road, but I wouldn't, especially not on a 1290. When we start talking about off-road with a big bike, I truly wouldn't bother with anything more road-oriented than 50/50. They're still better on-road than they should be, and as the presenters mentioned, it's pretty sketchy being off road on a big bike with street tires. You want maximum traction with these giant ADV bikes off road.
Pirelli GT Angel - fast warm up, good corner grip and fantastic durability. My last bike 2019 Suzuki Katana got around 11,000 km rear and about 8,000 front.
Dunlop Trailmax Mission on a LC GS. On the heavy side, expensive and a bit noisy after 80kph but man is it a good tyre! Brilliant on road, nice grip, brilliant off road except in a deep sand which I, as it happens, ride quite often. It can do it but you have to work it to keep steady pace. And I think it will last at least 15k km if not much more. I was contemplating between Mission and Raid and since I do a fair bit of on road riding I think I would strip them down much faster then Missions. So far I'm very pleased with them. Cheers!
Many of us will have our favourites, tyres we trust, that we have good memories of etc There isn't much between the better tyres in each area, but we'll have our favourites for the feel we want. Good topic 👍🏻 Tyres in the 80s were mostly rubbish, got better in the 90s, the current tyres are brilliant !!
I just started the video and just at 1:30 a comment was made about OE tires. Leaving this comment in case this isn't commented on further, are OE tires generally worse or much worse than replacement tires? I have a 2022 GSXR600 which came with Bridgestone Battlax BT016R from the factory. I ran into someone with a GSXR600 but one year newer and she said that her tires were garbage and replaced them immediately. Should I look to do the same? I have been planning on running S22's as a replacement or maybe a set of Pirelli's
Fortnine has an excellent video from a couple years ago on OE tyres and how they differ to the like-for-like replacements youd get from the local tyre shop, shouldn't be too hard to find and was an interesting watch
OE are worse than replacements but that doesn't mean they are bad. Tire tech is very advanced nowadays. Replace OE only if you think they are holding you back or reaching their limits. If this is your first bike I doubt this is the case, so I'd say just ride a lot, wear them out first. It saves you some money and will give you a better understanding on how much a tire changes when you swap it out.
Interesting but I did also go through proces of finding right tire for my tipe of ride and bike use (long story). And I mey say that you guys gave them all very good advices. So chaps. ... ride safe & have some fun. Cheers
I replaced the tyres on my cb650 with Road4s, then changed to a 21 mt09 and went for road 5s and now on a Gsxs1000gt when that needs new tyres I think it will probably be the Road 6s. Jus found them so confidence inspiring might go for a 55 profile as ive found that helps makebthat initial turn in a little sweeter imo. Open to suggestions though
Thank you for that vid, very informative. It can be a bit confusing trying to work out what to fit when renewing tyres as there is a huge selection out there!!
When I had a road bike it was Michelin Roads or Pirelli Angels, on my adventure bikes always Conti Trail Attacks or Pirelli Trails. Having ridden for a long time and as I ride the whole year on road I’d always err towards sport touring rubber, so many good tyres these days in contrast to when I started.
I have a question relating to bike weight and sport touring tyres. At what point do you move from a standard tyre to a GT based tyre, I'm told its weight related but no one can seem to where the tipping point is between a standard tyre and a GT Tyre.
Great video, guys! I have Michelin Road 5's on my Firestorm, and after getting caught in some "rather inclement weather" riding over Snowdonia's roads last weekend, I'm loving the grip they gave me :-)
Michelin Road (whatever the latest iteration is) is for most conditions and incredible tyre. For best performance on hot asphalt and blue skies: Bridgestone S22’s. I personally don’t f*** with Pirelli since I just don’t ever seem to reach the temps those start to give anytime resembling grip. /edit: never ridden on track, no advice there.
What’s the best tipping in tyre for a gsxr600. I live in Queensland so hot. Running m7rr and it takes a lot of effort to tip in whereas my old srad 600 tips in easier on rosso3.
Gsx-r work well with the Dunlop Q (3 or 5) I think. But don't forget suspension settings and height of your triple tree on the forks will affect tip over
Yeah they’re fine. I’ve checked and got 1 1/4” sag. All suspension set back to stock. I’ve already had the arse end slide on me coming off a roundabout. These metzelers are 2018 made.
Was at the NW 200 a few weeks ago, seemed to be loads of proper Sports Bikes running Michelin Road 6, maybe just noticed because they’re very distinctive looking
They perform extremely well in all conditions, more than enough for most riders in the dry with the added security of very good damp/wet grip plus they usually last double the time of a sport tyre
Please tell me what tyres you would recommend for a cruiser? Due to their weird sizes can we get a good all round tyre in the following sizes? Front 130/90-16 67H & Rear 150/80-16 71H ?
Michelin Road 6 is fantastic for small to medium bikes and they work in all weather (except snow and ice). Now days I use Metzler RoadTec 01 on the Husky and they are awesome for both summer and winter...
Michelin Power Cup Evo. I cannot find any info on what makes them different to other Michelin Roads, other than they weigh less and go on smaller bikes.
M1000R on Michelín Power 6, Diavel V4 on Michelín Power 6, R NINET PURE on Michelín Road 6. I live in the Pyrenees, and these tyres work great in 41C down to 0C. Rear's need changing on the MR every 3000km, Diavel 6000km.
I currently run Michelin Road 6's on my R6 for street use and Pirelli SC3's for the track. I would like to see you guys do a track review of the Road 6's though. I did use them once for a wet track day, they're quite good upright but I leaned into a corner a little too far and crashed. But I am curious to see what one of your advanced riders on a dry track thinks
Good timing. Had Avon Storm 3D XM on my Blackbird for a few years now, after BT023s, but coming up to change. Thinking of Roadtec 02, Roadsmart, T32s or any of the ST types (except Angel GT as had disconcerting slips on these on my RSV Mille in wet when quite new, I’m sure they’re good but not for me).
@cowmath77 I put them on my sv650 for the same reason 🙂. I also recommended them to a friend who has a ktm super adventure and he is very happy with them as well.
What I understood from neevesy is that he said some people would use track day tyre just to try and also have the tyres not a liability in your lap times. Generally a good sports touring tyre is good enough for a fun track day until a certain speed
I miss the Pirelli Angel GT tires, I got 10,000 miles out of a set in all weather commuting and spirited riding. Unfortunately they haven't been available since, so they got replaced with Michelin Road 5's. The Michelin's aren't bad, but I preferred the Pirelli's feel and longevity.
Put PR 5/6's on my 1000sx, Nc750 and Street Triple. I find them night and day difference to anything else I have used over the years. They grip so well in dry and rain. It gives me so much confidence in corners. I don't do track days or ride like a 57 year old with R1 having a midlife crisis. 🤣
Guys, I found you didn’t really recommend by name the sportier adventure tyres. I have had several pairs of Bridgestone A41’s and find they have fantastic grip , but the front becomes very mid-shaped after 5500 miles, so I am now retrying my first pair of Michelin Pilot Road 6’s, which came high;y recommended. What would you recommend for a sporty adventure bike tyre?
I've ridden the whole December and January with a CBR650R, average temp was 2 celsius but with the Michelin Road 5's it was almost the same as riding in summer... I haven't seen any other bikers at all, I was the only biker on the road always, sometimes car drivers saluted me and shown thumbs up :D
@@VFactory-vl5fi i guess you are that guy that is poor as hell and doesnt ride anything at all or ride but just some 20-30 year old junk and have no clue what hes talking about at all 🤡
At my age and my skill level I just wobble around the best I can. I need my own category of tyre, old fart special. Sticks to the road and steers for you.
Got the S22 on my SDR with 23 ready to go on and i cant find the limit on these, and just tried a new one for me, Mitas sport on my SDGT, got the pair for the same price as one S23 and they seem to be very sticky, it was a quick choice after the Angels took me across the road when the front let go mid bend
I'd love another segment with more info on the cruiser oriented tires, there's a bunch available there for either power/ performance oriented to touring focused. Thanks!
Rosso IV on Tuono V4 Factory. Used to ride Road 6s on an S1000R and while it is true they offer all you need, the Pirellis fit my style of riding. They are all good though… find a tire that suits your ride and your budget.
I have a new GSX S1000. OEM dunlop rear is nearly dead at 2000 miles. I ride all year round. Looking for advice from other riders…what would you replace the Dunlop’s with ?
Got the same bike, used sportsmart mk3, s22, sportsmart tt and now roadsmart 4. They were all pretty good Imo. OEM roadsport 2 on this bike were pure trash
@@1587-i3w I found the OEM Dunlops ok when the suns out and temp is up but did notice the odd skip / slide in the corners when accelerating out of a corner. Defo going to change them out for something. Looks like the Michelin might be the best option.
@@RideSafeNSmart Thanks for the comment. I will have a look around for a fitted price. I see the Michelins are very popular (must be a reason why!) and seen them fitted to allsorts, z1000sx, BMW 1000xr, Triumph Explorer….time to give them a go.
After years off sports touring I have “ in my opinion “ nailed the tyre choice. It’s a combo - 1 Rear Metzler Roadtec rear and Dunlop Roadsmart 4 . BEST traction and longevity. 2. ADV tyres also after years of riding:,I always go 50/50 , so Motoz Rally rear and dual Ventura front . 3. Duel Sport / enduro- Old faithful Dunlop D606 rear ( Or Motoz Desert HT and Michelin M21 Rallycross ( to old to do motocross now 😂😂😂) Paul from Australia.
ktm 1290 super adventure s, and i ride the pirelli scorpion str, amazing grips in corners, good wear, comfortable and capable on dirt road and medium offraods. depends on your skill level. Only thing they are load as.fuc... above 80km.
A great as chat you put neevsy on any road bike he’s a god & off road Dan is ridiculously talented guy if they tell you is good spend your hard earned their recommendations .as a fat 58 yo knobber whose only talented in he’s head ,it’s super ours as 9on my sports bike & road 6’s on my adventure bike and tracers on my green lander great video guys 🏍🏍🎉🎉🤓
Sport touring category is very, very popular. Tires for These bikes have to deal with speed, weight and different weather conditions like wet, dry, loose surface, hot and cold. That and lasting long is a quite a job to achieve. How about making video about sport touring and adventure bikes tires....
I do like listening to you guys talking "shop" but can I ask the question that no one ever seems to ask. As a younger man when I was in my 30s and 40s I used to have friends following me to watch the smoke off my back tyre out of bends my preferred tyre was the Dunlop RRs ( i ruined one rear before I'd spent the same amount on petrol) ! Or Bridgestone 56/57s but they were not as smooth when they broke away. I digress, so the question. I ride a Speed Twin 1200 and I have Michelin Road 6s fitted, but unlike yesteryear, I don't get that old feeling of the bike moving like I used too. Am I missing this because I am now in my late 60s and backing out too early, or has the grip levels gone up so far I just ain't "sending" it. What are the signs on modern tyres that I will feel when I reach these limits. ?
road6 are brilliant tires but they do slide around a little when pushed,,, personally I feel they do it predictively and gradually, which is the best you could ask for I think
I’m hesitating for new tyres on my Husqvarna 701. Riding it all year round to work and love to ride sporty as well, though my country (Holland) is flat and straight as f*ck
I went with road 6s on my vfr due to the amount of hype but honestly when I tried my friends sx with dunlop roadsmart 4s I thought they blew the Michelin's away, defo my next tyre
Can anyone let me know why there are so many hugely positive reports on Michelin Road 6? Are they that good? I run OEM S22 on MT-09-SP in very N Thailand - always hot 35 C or really hot (>=40 C +)
I also have a 2022 09SP. The OE rear tyre only lasted 3000km. I now use Road 6's and got 9000km on the rear (1000km more than I got on a number of Road 5's on a Gen1 Tracer 900). I'm no tyre expert, but I ride briskly on very twisty roads and have never found the Michelin's to lack in any performance area in spite of the superior life span. I also appreciate the comfortable ride compared to the OE Dunlops on the Tracer. I ride in temperatures from about 8 - 23 °C.
I once replaced my Michelin 2CT’s with Road 5’s on my CBR 600RR and the performance was nearly on par (at my skill level), and the tread line was outstanding. I’ve heard that the Road 6 is even better
There an amazing tyre. All the grip you’ll need on the road and excellent in the wet..I’ve used a lot of tyres and the road 6 are the best I’ve ever had..on my 3rd rear at the moment and they’ve never let go with spirited riding..just don’t believe a lot of the crap on here and other places that you can get 8,000 miles out of a rear tyre..you can’t or at least I can’t,The most I’ve had is 4,800 miles out of the rear.
@@ianburns5789 Thanks. 👍 I was thinking the same for tyre wear. The tarmac where I ride is quite aggressive and bloody hot. I’ve been riding fast sportsbikes in Aussie for 30 years and destroyed rears so I expect the same in Thailand. Hence why I am interested in the Road 6.
I’ve booked my 8S in for a fresh pair of Michelin Road 5s - the shop are charging me £400 to fit and balance both tyres - does this sound the right price or am I getting fleeced?
I paid more than that for same tyres fitted on my mt09 but I did ask myself the same question afterwards. I think that with some dealers they know ita convenient and they arent as competitive as a result?!
@@vijayragoonanan6493 cheers helpful to know. I’m based down in Eastbourne so not near their London workshop - but I suppose I could find an equivalent tyre fitters near me.
@@nickho4320I have been running Dunlop Sportsmarts and they have been great. I’m an adventurous sport rider, love a quick steering tyre with stability at kneedown lean and these have been spot on. I have Rosso Corsa lV’s on my 2010 Multistrada for the same reason and I’m going to try these on the Tuono next if it stops raining for longer than two days at a time as otherwise they will last until next year!!!!
@madpete6438 dosent meet up with classics bike look, and I think they don't make them in narow dimensions. Michelin Road Classic and Pirelli Sport Demon is the answer depends on riding style
pirelli scorpion rally str , amazing grip in corners, last well, and if you want to go for an adventure on light offroad, dirt roads, its amazing. just not for mude.
Trackday tyres? Ones you mentioned wouldnt last half a ride day. Diablo supercorsa sc1 front, sc2 rear will last you a full ride day but will not be a road legal tyre after that.
I stopped using Michelin tyres when I suffered my third puncture in a year with half worn covers. I pressed the centre of the tread with my thumbs, and the carcass seemed to have no resistance - was this the culprit? Not scientific, but I find Metzeler tyres seem to be less easily deformed when they wear out. I accept I may have been unlucky, but the Michelins felt like any sharp stone or object would penetrate the rubber. Bike is a R1250RT.
I agree. I love Michelin road 4, 5, 6, but have had more than my fair share of punctures, normally when touring in Scotland and always from just road chippings. I picked up 2 slow punctures in the same tyre at the same time on my last PR5. Great tyres when they manage to stay inflated!
Only 3000 - 7000 miles on a set of tyres?. In 2024? I would get some other tyres or another motorcycle. I guess these guys don't know how most of us ride. Even back in 1978 I got more miles on my tyres on the GT550. Not much useful information here.

Contis don't even give half the milage of the others.
@@nervotica7991 Didn't notice any of that with me. Contis FTW so far!
Hello fellow Lisboeta
Interesting. My rear tire is usually wearing faster than the front.
Got about 6500km out of the rear on my GSX-S 750...
Cheers!
Where do pilot powers fit into all this?
Not sure to go with Michelin power 6 or 2ct or Pirelli rosso 4?
I have been using Michelin ROAD 6 tires on my BMW 1250GS for 2 years and I am very satisfied.
Yes change them. S22 are good ✌
Fortnine has an excellent video from a couple years ago on OE tyres and how they differ to the like-for-like replacements youd get from the local tyre shop, shouldn't be too hard to find and was an interesting watch
Great video guys I have run Road 6 Road 5 and Angel GT 2 on my 1290 GT all have been great 👍
Interesting but I did also go through proces of finding right tire for my tipe of ride and bike use (long story). And I mey say that you guys gave them all very good advices. So chaps. ... ride safe & have some fun. Cheers
Now it's winter and the ContiRoadAttack 4 is great for my Tuono v4, it warms up quickly and has a great sporty handling
A request, can you use the "chapters" functionality of TH-cam instead of just timestamps in the description. Please and thanks
Trail Attack 3 on my GSA, hard to beat !
R1200GS: Anakee 3s for mostly road, Miltas 07 for 50/50 dirt and road. Satisfied with both.
I have a question relating to bike weight and sport touring tyres. At what point do you move from a standard tyre to a GT based tyre, I'm told its weight related but no one can seem to where the tipping point is between a standard tyre and a GT Tyre.
We are pretty spoiled for choices and quality today
The road 6:s are the only tire i would risk my life on for the northern part of Europe at least.
2023 BMW GS with Road 6 tyres. Very happy
I'm looking for a longer lasting tyre for my 890 duke r..S23 maybe or diabolo 4, anyone got any suggestions?
My experience with s23s was that they didnt last well at all but that was an OEM tyre on an mt09 was flattened off by about 2400 miles 😏
@@RideSafeNSmartyou are allowed to go around corners.
Roadsmart4's make an everyday bike feel like a trackday bike but still wet confidence inspiring, lovem on my SV and on my RSV4
M1000R on Michelín Power 6,
Diavel V4 on Michelín Power 6,
R NINET PURE on Michelín Road 6. I live in the Pyrenees, and these tyres work great in 41C down to 0C. Rear's need changing on the MR every 3000km, Diavel 6000km.
I usually go for metzler roadtecs for my moto guzzi norge. Either the z8 interacts or the 02s I don't like how the 01s wear
Dunlop Sportsmart Mk3, on budget, great performance and acceptable mileage. I can feel everything it does under my GSXS GT. Road use.
Dunlop mutants, great tyre for the road
I put them on my speed triple. 80% of the roads I ride are dirty pot hole ridden crap.
@cowmath77 I put them on my sv650 for the same reason 🙂. I also recommended them to a friend who has a ktm super adventure and he is very happy with them as well.
My son has those on his KTM 690 Duke and he loves them!
Good to know.. I was wondering about them... Soon I'll need fresh tires and I really like their profile.
@@johnnyblue4799 One thing to remember though. They have a negative impact on fuel consumption. But it might be worth it.
Bridgestone BT023 are a great all round tire. That said I am using S22 tyres now which seem to be even better in the rain
Confused so neavsey says i would go for the best track day tyre for summer track use but a good sports tourer is also good enough???
I really dislike the road 6, the round profile is very vague to me
I learned, that I usually get about half of the mileage from the rear tire from what is either stated by manufacturer or user reviews...
What recommendations would you give for a lighter bike like the duke 390?
Just bought another pair of continental trail attack 3's. 13500 miles on my gs
Excellent tyres, I’ve kept coming back to them on my GSA
Please do cruiser tyres
I've ridden the whole December and January with a CBR650R, average temp was 2 celsius but with the Michelin Road 5's it was almost the same as riding in summer... I haven't seen any other bikers at all, I was the only biker on the road always, sometimes car drivers saluted me and shown thumbs up :D
The only thing you need to worry about is falling asleep at the helm of that sewing machine 🤣👍🏼
Would be informative if they had show pictures of the tyres they was talking about. Hard to follow now...
Think itll be Road 5 or 6 for me 👍
@@1587-i3w I found the OEM Dunlops ok when the suns out and temp is up but did notice the odd skip / slide in the corners when accelerating out of a corner.
It’s a combo -
1 Rear Metzler Roadtec rear and Dunlop Roadsmart 4 . BEST traction and longevity.
2. ADV tyres also after years of riding:,I always go 50/50 , so Motoz Rally rear and dual Ventura front .
3. Duel Sport / enduro- Old faithful Dunlop D606 rear ( Or Motoz Desert HT and Michelin M21 Rallycross
( to old to do motocross now 😂😂😂) Paul from Australia.
ktm 1290 super adventure s, and i ride the pirelli scorpion str, amazing grips in corners, good wear, comfortable and capable on dirt road and medium offraods. depends on your skill level. Only thing they are load as.fuc... above 80km.

Neevsey, what are your recommended tyres for a 2014 BMW S1000r please?
Michelin Power GP for street
Sport touring category is very, very popular.
Tires for These bikes have to deal with speed, weight and different weather conditions like wet, dry, loose surface, hot and cold.
That and lasting long is a quite a job to achieve.
How about making video about sport touring and adventure bikes tires....
let us know the best scooter tyres please
@@turbocad6 Thanks for that, I guess at 67 my adrenalin kicks in too early nowadays for me to take liberties, I don't bounce very well lately. 🤣
I’m hesitating for new tyres on my Husqvarna 701. Riding it all year round to work and love to ride sporty as well, though my country (Holland) is flat and straight as f*ck
I went with road 6s on my vfr due to the amount of hype but honestly when I tried my friends sx with dunlop roadsmart 4s I thought they blew the Michelin's away, defo my next tyre
the Road 6 will last very long but damn I don't get the hype it gets, it's very vague
Where do road 6s fit in this list ?
sports touring, it's in the vid iirc
The nodding yes yes yes absolutely absolutely absolutely absolutely..yes yes yes absolutely yeh yeh yeh..absolutely

Manufacturers tyre naming is not helpful
Pirelli Diablo Rosso's for the road and SP's or slicks for track.
Panigale V4 on super corsa sp. 890 on avon trail rider (came new on it). I'm going to try the trek rider next.
Can anyone let me know why there are so many hugely positive reports on Michelin Road 6?
Are they that good?
I run OEM S22 on MT-09-SP in very N Thailand - always hot 35 C or really hot (>=40 C +)
I ran s22s on my MT09 SP for 2 rears and 1 front. Recently switched to Michelin road 6 for more mileage.
I was thinking the same for tyre wear.
Fleeced. Can get Road 6’s for that price
I paid more than that for same tyres fitted on my mt09 but I did ask myself the same question afterwards. I think that with some dealers they know ita convenient and they arent as competitive as a result?!

How annoying is that bloke hosting. Jeez.
Only 3000 - 7000 miles on a set of tyres?. In 2024? I would get some other tyres or another motorcycle. I guess these guys don't know how most of us ride. Even back in 1978 I got more miles on my tyres on the GT550. Not much useful information here.
