HEATED and COOLED Cup Holder Swap Dodge Charger

Hello everyone!!! in this video we will be doing a how to for the Heated and COOLED cupholders on my charger. this steps are if you have the 8 speed or pursuits model or the RT that is not prewired for them

On your car's connector side, you only had 2 wires correct? All 4 are present in my car side connector

Hey, I’m a bit confused.
Mine is the same as you show, pushing the buttons does nothing. So you splice a wire in to the grey and orange one then run it all the way to the battery in back? That seems a bit excessive. I’m assuming just connecting them to any 12v would work fine?

I tried connecting to the cigarrete lighter or another 12v and the amp draw is too much

@@RacingPassionMovement Fair enough. What fuse did you use? I already have a fuse tap in the trunk for a OBD security bypass. I can probably just add it into that I’m assuming. Currently a 20Amp, I’m assuming that’s fine?

Yes i have a 20 amp in there as well

How does it heat in cool? Do they have a fan and heating element on the actual cup holder?

Yes there is a fan and a heating element on the back. Is pretty bulky it does cool drink very well and it keeps coffe and such warm enough. Not enough to keep things really hot or keep ice from melting

How would you know if it’s prewired? I have a new RT plus. Thanks!

Plug it in and test it. If it doesnt work go on the fuse box and check if theres a fuse for it installed, if theres no fuse add one and try again. If theres no supply of power to the fuse then is not prewired for it. Also ur connector will have no empty pin slots, thats an easy way to tell

@@RacingPassionMovement Hey, I can’t tell if I’m pre wired or not. The lights won’t even come on with the new cup holders. Would they regardless if they weren’t prewired?

Correct they should light up even if youre not prewired

Did the cupholder you take out light up before u took it apart?

@@RacingPassionMovement Yes. I double checked to make sure I didn’t ruin the factory connector from the car as well after trying the new cup holder by plugging in the old one. The old one still lit up like norml
