    When I started in the trade, the main workshop didn't have many ramps. All the clutches and gearbox or torque converter removals were done on the floor. Stood me in good stead for when I went as a mobile mechanic. Nice to watch someone who knows what he's doing!

    I have done this for few years myself and I used to always crack the wheel nuts before putting axle stands, as being alone would have made one stranded if the nuts won't come off with impact gun and the car is on axle stand and you have no one to press the brake pedal for you. Great work and best of luck.

    • @thejohn7821
      @thejohn7821 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      you can just use the impact on the ground, jack it up and remove the last bolt by hand, wheel off.

      VW/Audis seem to be the same way. I learned a trick though, replace the front bolts to the bumper with longer ones and you can pull the front clip with out the stands. Not all of us have a dozen of them.

    Hats off to you, nice work. I have been an auto tech for over 35yrs. last time I did a clutch on my back for a friend in my garage on a 85 vw gti in the mid 90s.
    I said never again, I didn't have the strength anymore & barley got it back up. I wouldn't dream of having to have to do one on my back these days. Great watching you making it look easy. All the best to you
