52:15 OMG.. I’m absolutely glued to my telly watching you disassembled and assembled each difficult parts.. you are absolutely a genius… thanks for that amazing video. More power to you mate.
Hi Kevin, i've done my clutch on my Audi A3 1.8T alone in my garage with jackstands and a hydraulic jack just like you, and it was really a hard job to do that all alone, i really respect what you do and the fact that you do this on a daily basis. Congratulations ! Greetings from France.
Total respect to you Kevin. Spent 18 yrs as a Car Mechanic, now working on trucks. Done more Kerbside jobs than I care to remember. And it's graft. Did loads of these Dual mass flywheels and clutches on a recall whilst working at Seat. Same set up etc... Fair play to you for hauling them 6-speed boxes in and out on your own. They are heavy gearboxes. Great video, good workmanship and you earn every penny.
la main d'œuvre pour la mécanique sur cette caisse est énorme il faut sortir un nombre conséquent de pièces pour arrivé au but sacré job comme d'hab chapeau👍
William, I own a 2013 Fiat 500 1.4 with 113,000 miles on it and a plan to keep it. Lately not all the time on first gear and reverse I get a raddle noise. I'm having to replace the gear axel seal which is leaking but not a lot. I'm wondering could it be the leak from the gearbox that needs fluid top-off or could it possibly be the throwout bearing ready to give out? Thanks keep up the great work on your videos they are incredibly enjoyable
Hi Kevin! Thanks for your videos. I have a question: I see you put the kickstand in the center of the car as well. Is damage to the bodywork possible in that position, instead of the recommendation of the vw grip marks? Thank you indeed.
Hola una pregunta? Sabes si el embrague de golf6 2.0tdi 170cv sirve para seat altea 2.0tdi 140cv bkd? Me ayudarías mucho si me respondieras a esta pregunta.😊
When the engine is disconnected from the mounts, is it only the floor jack holding it up? And the walls of the engine bay stop it falling from side to side yeah? Would someone less experienced be better off getting and engine support bar to hold up the engine from above? My main worry if i do decide to take it on is safety
It's no wonder VW costs so much to service compared to a any honda of same year, you need to tear 40% of engine bay including suspension to change the damn clutch.

Hello. Do you have any clue where the slave cylinder would be in this type. I have the same one. Changed the master, looking for slave, but can't find it.
And another thing..when you put back the gearboxcasing..i cant figure out which bolt you are tightening to hold it in place..you're using the ratchet at that moment..thx
I thought so..but in this video..maybe it's an editing timig..cause the bolt appears to be loose..and the gearbox casing is in its place..anyways thanks for your answer..👍👍means a lot ..especially..beeing a Sunday and all..
The job on my 4motion is now done. Followed your guide until you removed right driveshaft; on 4motion that is stuck in the transfercase. Remove the 4 bolts holding the transfer to the gearbox, remove 3 10mm bolts connecting the propshaft and the transfer, remove two brackets holding the transfer (front and back). You should now be able to slide both the transfer and the gearbox out together.
@@aqib2000 It wasn’t! Even worse to grt it back in. I did the job to change the bearing only. After 5000km my flywheel started to rattle, so I did the job once more. This time I removed more of the suspension on the driver side, so the transfer and gearbox could just stay together, and saved a lot of time. 3 hours to take it out and replace the flywheel and clutch.
hi kevin I hope you don't mind me asking I was wondering if you could help me with instructions tools etc to replace my vw caddy 2014 1.6 tdi I would ask you to do it but I am based in the northwest I no a little bit but never done big job like this your help advice would be much appreciated kind regards

Great as always! I was wondering if an air compressor can fit in your van, so to save some money on electric tools. Thanks for the video!

They are all equally strong. The side point are usually for workshop ramps to balance the weight when on the lift.

Quick question...is it true that the bolts holding the pressure plate to the flywheel ..are 9mm 12 sided?😇😇
It’s a 8mm multi hex

You can pick it from Halfords if you’re in UK. Or eBay I would imagining. Interlocking mats.

any idea what is the weight of this specific gearbox?
