Hi Lisa, please make your episodes as long as you want. I for one love a long episode. You have such a relaxing way about you. The music, the spinning it’s always so special. Your cardigans! So good👏🏼🥂🧶. 😃

I LOVE the longer episodes. I always pick a time when my house pretty much empty and I'm able to enjoy while I'm crafting weather it's knit or crochet.
Please continue with the long episodes!

So my 2 year old is in a PICU due to a respiratory virus triggering a non stop asthma attack and after starring at walls for 4 days with a very unhappy teathered (due to the oxygen and neb) 2 year old, I have a new episode of your podcast and I’m so thankful! This absolutely made my day. You are the best 😊. Thank you!

I so enjoy watching you Lisa. You are so soothing and I love to listen and spin to destress. I just purchased a double treadle Lendrum from a friend. It came with 5 bobbins and the plying flyer. And a beautiful purple carrying case. Something in my gut said to buy it, I don't need another wheel. You justified my purchase! Thank you so much. Keep up the great work and keep inspiring me!♥️🐑🐑

Thank you so much for a wonderful episode Lisa❤ Your handspun cardigan is just sooo inspiring! I'm so inspired to at least attempt to spin enough for a cardigan or jumper. I've been running away to my studio on nights i can to do some spinning.and tonight i was able to finish some plying and catch up on your podcast. Can't wait to see your finished Lopapeysa too! I find that lettlopi next to skin can be a bit coarser feeling depending on the temperature outdoors. If it's bitterly cold it's like the the lettlopi loses it's toothiness and softens up a bit. Odd but that's how I've experienced it. With plotulopi i can wear it next to skin any time.
Thank you for the podcast recommendation! Sounds like my cup of tea and I've put Isabelle's podcast on my que. Sending you best wishes and warmth and hoping you're continuing to have some sunny weather where you are❤

I've been listening for years to a cellist Sheku Kanneh Mason, but even more so recently and lots while spinning. He just speaks to me at every single level. And I'm sure you've already heard of Einaudi as he seems to have become very popular recently. ❤

I’ve so enjoyed this video, again - thank you, Lisa. You offer so much interest and Joy to us all, and always so beautifully put together. I am thrilled you are knitting the Skogafjall jumper…I knit it a few years ago, before I knew anything about trying things on etc, and when I was unwell… I made it in the same colours/yarn as the pattern and it is lovely. The only problem is…it is literally a dress on me🙈 - it’s great with leggings and I always wear something underneath, but it’s wonderful on those freezing days! I look forward to seeing yours take shape😊

    • @SoulfulSpinning

Hi Beverley! I noticed with the Skigafjall sweater the length is a bit long. I knit mine to 18 in before joining the sleeves. Someone mentioned that seemed kind of long. Oh well… I am working I. The fun color work now and will give an update on the next video which I plan to put out this weekend.
I hope you’re doing well and staying warm and cosy this February 🥰

I had to smile when you mentioned Sturgis, Michigan as my family had a summer home on Lake Altrich (I’m not sure if I am spelling that correctly)! It brought back fond memories of childhood. I also have to say I love listening to you because I hear the “Chicago” in your voice which, again, brings me back to my own childhood in a Chicago suburb. I do hope you understand that is a wonderful quality in your voice to me! 🤗

I looove those blues and greens!
I, too, felt the ends of Léttlopi together, but I treat it like a single and open up the twist to not break the fibre but to pull it apart gently, so I can wrap the ends around each other and imitate them being spun as one contiuous thread. It might be slightly thicker, but Léttlopi varies in thickness anyways.

mohair is such a joy to spin and I have experimented blending with merino for socks and the heel wore through very quickly, so am going to try with some gotland. Toe up is my preference as I don't like doing kitchener, , Highly recommend looking up Jona, Purl Together, in her extensive playlist is a tutorial for toe up, For your forest sweater, to me the green rather than the teal would make a more subdued combination, Look forward to your videos for all the yarny delights and the piano was a real treat this time.

I’m still watching, and I will watch again. Gorgeous cardigans. So smart to buy pattern once and knit multiple times!
If I were you, I would knit a yoke/cowl for the cranberry Felix before I used yarn for a hat. You have quite a few hats in your portfolio, but I don’t remember cowl. Since Felix has a big neck opening a cowl would be practical … then a hat, mitts, socks…
My gosh you’re so productive 😮

What an inspiring video!. You got so much done since last time. Both of your cardigans are so beautiful. That Lilac does look really good on you. Glad the tip about the needle size of your hot chocolate socks worked out for you. They came out beautiful. Now I want a pair too! I love the leather buttons on your red cardi. Also, what amazing fiber choices and colours for your sock spin along project. That green and blue (or purple 😅) mohair looks so pretty, reminds me of the neck of a mallard. Re. toe up sock; my hesitation would be that it would be harder to replace the toe, which is the place I am most likely to get a hole. Often I just replace the whole toe if that happens. But I am curious to hear how it works out for you! Oh, and I had to smile as was watching this wearing my silversmith cardigan, which was also designed by Meiju KP! ❤

Hello Lisa, and thank you so much for the mention, it was really unexpected (and the first time !). Contrast is a beautiful book, and you are the second person wanting to knit the Pathway shawl (the first one was a colleague from another Univ I have regular online meetings with, she fell in love with it on screen too and she will make it soon). My sons scarves were Silata by Marie-Amelie Designs, from her "Ensemble" book. She stopped designing a couple years back, making all of her patterns free on Ravelry. The closest I could find is her Silene scarf pattern on Ravelry, Silata is not available in a digital format. Same kind of stitch motif, in a much lighter yarn (Silata is in DK).
I really enjoy your videos, I do not spin and will venture into the sock world for the first time soon, so they are very educational and inspirational for me. I really enjoy when people are true to themselves, sharing their experiences and not in the canned format you can find about everywhere. You do contribute to my happiness when I watch your videos ❤

I love your bright pink for the sock spin-along. Last year I spun undyed Southdown and mohair (separately and 2-ply) for socks on spindle. I only held the mohair double at the heel and at the ball of foot/toe. They really are warm and comfortable socks and they fit so well. I think you’ll really enjoy that blend. And your cardigans are lovely! It was good to see your notification when I got back from my fiber art guild meeting today! I hope you’re well, Lisa.

    • @SoulfulSpinning
      @SoulfulSpinning  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hello Leslie! Thanks for sharing how you knit your spindle spun socksI was thinking an extra strand of mohair at the high stress points would be a good idea and you’ve confirmed it. The thing with socks is that I struggle to spin thin. Even my 2 ply Southdown seems pretty thick.
I’ll have to experiment with plying one of each.
I’m so lucky to have such kind and experience knitters here. Many blessing to you and your family this coming Spring. 🌷

@@SoulfulSpinning I make a lot of socks with fewer stitches and larger needles for boot socks and slipper socks. In fact I rarely wear my hand knit socks with normal shoes, so a little bit thicker yarn doesn’t bother me. But I understand if you’re trying to get it down to a total of a fingering weight it can be a little challenging. I pray you and yours are safe and healthy as well! I just found your podcast link on Isabelle's podcast. I also like to watch podcasts that are 1 hourish long. I am coming to you from Norway (I lived in Chicago for about 10 years, moved back to Norway when I was 13 years old). Your pronunciation of Gjeilo was correct, the G is silent. I haven't heard of him. I'll have to check him out too. 🧶Happy knitting
