"Bout de chou" is an affectionate phrase we use in France to describe a baby or a toddler. Perhaps in English you'd say "Little one". The literal translation however is " a bit of cabbage". (ref cardigan at 25:50)
I wanted to say thank you for talking about smaller side of the spectrum along with the bigger one when talking about size inclusivity. I have small chest and narrow shoulders, often the smallest size isn't small enough for me 😅 I found a few models from your bundle which should fit me well without modifications 👍
You’re so welcome! It so much part of the size inclusive story we’re talking about. Some pattern only go up to 120cm and on the other sides some pattern only start at 100cm which just doesn’t work for a lot of people. I’m really happy you were able to find some patterns in this list 🥰😘
Thanks for the pattern roundup! I now have some inspiration for my several “sweater quantities” of yarn. I especially liked ‘cocktail” by Tricot design. I, like you apparently, like a bit more of a fitted cardigan than the current oversized look. It just looks better on my body and fits my esthetic better. 🤗😊
Ah I'm so happy to hear that 😄 I absolutely have the same, honestly love the oversized look on some people but a bit smaller definitely suits my figure better too ❤️
I am knitting now a beautiful brioche cardigan, the pattern is called For The Love Of Brioche Jacket, its on ravelry. Beautiful construction, requiers paying attention and counting rows, but it's very beautiful and the pattern is great as well
Lots of fascinating looks here! I wish I could live a thousand years so I’d have time to make several of these and way more besides. A recommendation to add to your list: the Iola Cardigan by Kate Davies. I just finished one for myself, and it’s so very pretty. Thanks for the great video!
Thank you for showing all the lovely cardigans.😍 I knit the Whitmoor cardigan last year, and as I don't enjoy knitting flat, I knit it all in the round with a steeked front. I'm very happy with the result. It is a lovely design. Best of luck to you on choosing which you will knit next. 🥰
Thank you so much for your kind comment 😄 and that is super smart! I might consider steeking it. For now I went with the Marbury cardigan but it honestly was a really close tie with the Whitmoor cardigan, so that one is definitely still on my list 😄
It was interesting to see less well known designers’ works. Many were new to me. I enjoyed your selection and presentation. First time viewer; i will be back. Kathleen from Wisconsin
As I watch, I am working on second sleeve of Rebel cardigan. I considered Kallias but it looked like it may tend to slide off shoulders. I picked Rebel because it has a collar that is almost a shawl collar. It has been a pleasure so far.
I love your esthetic, so lovely and elegant. Thank you for showing all of these amazing cardi's. It would be so difficult to make up my mind. I think they would all look good on you. I'm currently knitting 'Linger' by Knitty. It's half fisherman's rib but it looks so nice in chunky yarn. Thanks again and happy knitting.
Ah thank you so so much for your kind comment, I really appreciate it 🥰❤️ eventually I went with the Maybury cardigan by Ami Lowden because I also couldn’t resist the fisherman’s rib 😉
I just finished my first cardigan and it was brioche! It is called the fluff nugget by sopranoknits. I would say that I do really like it but I am not sure the fit is the best. I also am currently working on the Cosmo Cardigan by Rust Knitwear and I am LOVING it!!! This is such a great roundup! I really love cardigans
I just bought the Viveca Cardigan/vest prior to watching your video. I bought Rowan's Felted Tweed in blue and burgundy, so not sure which to use yet! I agree, it looks versatile and some interest with the cables!
Hi Femke, we are name buddies since my full name is Femke too 🤩 and thank you so much ❤️ haha they are so good right. What would be your number one pick? 👀
@@themindfulcreators I think the Agnete Cardigan or the Calm down Cardigan will hop on my needles as soon as my Pink velvet sweater is finished. I feel quite encouraged to give brioche a try so I‘m leaning a little more to the Agnete.
I absolutely loved this video. Although I've now chosen my pattern for the make along, it was great to see what you'd picked. Two of my favourites were there, pattern no 1 and the Leith cardigan. This is going to be so exciting 😊
I’ve thought about it but wasn’t sure about if it would affect the shaping. It’s definitely something I almost planned on doing for the Maybury cardigan but I decided to go for it in the fisherman’s rib version 🥰
Thinking it shouldnt affect the shaping as they are both a 2 stitch pattern and it doesnt look like a fitted cardigan so with the positive ease in it it should be fine, though not 100% sure on that as havent looked at the pattern. Am sure it will look awesome when you are done. 😃Groetjes from Down Under
Love the Marisa and the pressed flowers, have you knit a April cardigan? I have made two now and I love them. It has a saddle shoulder construction. The only thing I altered was the button band .I knit a double knit button band which I prefer the look of. Thanks for your video, loved watching ❤x
Not yet but I do really love the look of it. My friend emma from @emmascraftcorner is now making it and she's definitely influencing me to make one too haha! And thank you so much, so glad you enjoyed it 🥰❤️
Have you seen the Fluffy Ass Brioche Cardigan by Claire Eggers? Its a two colour brioche cardigan. After you mentioned it I was like, yes, I have to make one. This one uses super chunky yarn though, and has a lot of positive ease, but I think would be able to be modified to work. Size down for less ease and then size up for gauge at smaller yarn? Only ideas.
Oeh I just looked it up and it looks really cozy. A bit too bulky for my taste but with some alterations that might work. Eventually I went with the Maybury cardigan by Ami Lowden because I just couldn’t resist the brioche look, this one is with fisherman’s rib tho but I’m very much enjoying it. Thank you so much for your recommendation, I really appreciate it 😄❤️
I am trying to find a cardigan pattern that is like the one you are wearing but not drop shoulder as I don’t suit drop shoulder! Any suggestions? Finger weight 2 threads at a time merino Adrifil. I’ve not done a top down but with support I’m sure i could manage it 🧐
Oeh I wouldn’t know one right now. I’d recommend using Ravelry and making use of the filters they have. You can click on raglan or round yoke and I’m sure many beautiful patterns will come up 😄❤️
I never knit top down. I would be helpful if you were more inclusive about types of construction, or at least more clear that your recommendations aren't for knitters like me.
It's super interesting that we all have our preferred knitting styles, I and many others I know prefer to only work on top-down projects for example. It's difficult to make everyone happy in one video, I hope you still enjoyed it 😊❤ I'll try my best but my head cannot always remember everything about a pattern in a big video like this

Oh I love that so much!! This is so fun to know! Also the literal translation is so funny 😂👌🏻

Thanks for trying to be size inclusive!!! It makes me feel so warm and happy to see
Ah thank you so much for you kind words, that put a big smile on my face 🥰 I'm really happy you appreciate it
I’m knitting the Maybury cardigan and it is so easy to follow

Wie weet in de toekomst!

Oh wow that is a beautiful one 😍 intense since it is fingering weight but it looks gorgeous!!

Thank you so much for your kind comment and wow the Lola cardigan looks like a perfect staple but definitely interesting because of the details 😍
I got such (maybe too much? 🙃) inspiration! Thank you for sharing these!
Hahaha I totally get that, I’m still doubting about which one I want to make 😂 and thank you so much 😄❤️
Loved this episode. Thanks for Making this collection. Such a nice variety. My favorite are Vivica, Nielo, Double time and Aosta.

Hi, happy that TH-cam showed me this channel. Loved video, got new ideas in the future:)
Hi Ivetta, I’m so happy to hear that 🥰 welcome 😄❤️
Thank you so much for showing all these beautiful cardigans. It’s helpful for future reference.
Ah I’m so happy you liked it, thank you for your kind comment ❤️❤️

That's so great to hear! I hope you will love wearing it as much as you like making it 😄❤️

Oeh I had never heard of the cosmo but I looked it up and it looks so fun!! Have fun making and thank you for the kind comment 🥰
I just finished the Minou Cardigan, it's a half fishermans rib + cables cardigan. So much fun and so beautiful.
Ohhh yours looks absolutely amazing! It was really high on my list and I definitely see myself making it one day
I just bought the Viveca Cardigan/vest prior to watching your video. I bought Rowan's Felted Tweed in blue and burgundy, so not sure which to use yet! I agree, it looks versatile and some interest with the cables!
That's so fun! I think it will be beautiful in the blue color 😄 Have fun knitting!
You did a great job of choosing and giving a rundown of everything. I think I will make the one with the Andulusian Stitch. Thank you.
Thank you so much for your kind comment ☺️❤️ that will be a great staple in your wardrobe! Have fun making 🧶❤️
LINDO TRABAJOS.
Thank you so much 😄❤️

Ah thank you so much Kelly 🥰 I cannot wait to see your cardigan take shape! It’s going to be so cute 😍
Just a thought......I often use a pattern for the style and do my own stitch so you could do the fishermans rib cardigan but do brioche instead.
I’ve thought about it but wasn’t sure about if it would affect the shaping. It’s definitely something I almost planned on doing for the Maybury cardigan but I decided to go for it in the fisherman’s rib version 🥰

I might be biased because I recently qfinished my whitmoor cardigan, but it's truly gorgeous! Super elegant and feminine!
Ah it really is right! I didn't choose it eventually but I definitely still see myself making it somewhat soon ❤️
Thanks for the suggestions.
Ah you’re so welcome 🥰❤️

My favorite is Double time, i knitted that winter 2023 in a solid colour, might do a Striped one this coming winter.
Oh that sounds amazing!! 😄 when you knit it twice you definitely know it’s a good pattern 😜
@@themindfulcreators I am currently working on the Paloma top (it's summer here) and Dolly boyh Libby Jonson (Truly Myrtle) patterns.
Thank you!
