    Well transient guides feature is going to save so much time for audio engineers, and will make cubasers look at reaper once again.
    Great tutorial, great DAW.

    Thanks for sharing your tips! For Tip #1, I think you could also combine it with "Item: Snap stretch markers in time selection to grid" so that you could just set up a macro that selects all the transients and snaps them to the grid. DONE!

      I agree! There are a tonne of great ways you could integrate or modify / expand this tip in to your workflow.

    Great tutorial as ever. Every time I use Reaper, I have a smile on my face. Future no.1 DAW? I think it already is.I'll never use my other three high profile but unfriendly DAWs again except for MP3 exporting. I love using Reaper and I'm learning so much from your tutorials. I also like your attention to feedback. You deserve success just as Reaper does. Keep up the great work! Rewind on MP3. Have you advice on the Lame MP3 conversion? I'm using Cubase for that at the moment. I need MP3 format to upload to some platforms.

      Hi Johnno, thanks for the great feedback.
      You can export to Mp3 using Lame in Reaper too. Just choose Render to File and from the Output Format section choose Mp3 (encoder by LAME project); set your preferences on quality, mode, etc. and you should be good to go :0)

    about tip 1, it is great one, just remember, best human recordings are meant to be bit off the grid here and there. it brings 'air' to the mix.

    Hi great video. What exactly is a transient? Also, can you use this to set one tracks timing to another track, or just the timing markers? There is a cool script for doing that with vocals called mpl align. I was wondering if you could do that for instruments as well. it is awesome how much good info there is out there on using reaper

    Hi mate! Excellent video. Can you advise what skin you are using and where to get it from? Thanks in advance!

    • @ReapertvUk
      @ReapertvUk  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's Default Commala 5 i think in most of these videos.

    I'm new to reaper and was trying to use the tse bod bass driver plugin however when I turned the plugin on there was no output sound and when I turned it off, what I had recorded would output again, I think I fixed this problem but it also doesn't seem to have any effect on the sound of what I've recorded, is there a reason why this is and could anyone help me fix it?

    thanks man,
    any tips for minimizing RAM usage in Reaper so it does not crash when using a lot of tracks?

    • @ReapertvUk
      @ReapertvUk  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Christian Paez absolutely! Try freezing the tracks after you've applied your VST's and FX to free up the Ram being used on each track. You can always unfreeze them should you need to edit them later.

    Why aren't you using all the screen space?
    P.S. Useful tips as always)

    • @ReapertvUk
      @ReapertvUk  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I'm using Reaper for real I use full screen or a dual monitor setup, but I'll run it like this just for a little contrast in the video. Just as aesthetic thing really 😉

    Can't see how doing that transient thing is quick. if a song is 5 minutes long and you have 8 or more tracks, it would take forever to do that, one beat at a time. Tip 5 was superb tho

    Could you tell us the name of the skin you are using?

    • @ReapertvUk
      @ReapertvUk  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, it's Default Commala 5.

    • @timandmonica
      @timandmonica 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! When I went to go get it the first comment I see is yours saying everybody asks you this question!
      There used to be a skin that had graphics of real faders and the mixer looked like a real desk (kind of like this but not this one - stash.reaper.fm/theme/1049/Dark_Side_Imperial.ReaperThemeZip). There are so many themes now that I don't think I'll ever find it. Do you remember that one perchance?

    • @ReapertvUk
      @ReapertvUk  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol, I do get asked a lot about the theme being used.
      I was going to say it was Imperial as that's the first one that springs to mind when anyone mentions real faders, etc. No idea what others have the same styling though sorry.
      May be worth asking on the Reaper forums in the themes section.

    To expand on your tip number three:
    You can ALSO adjust the shape of
    the in/out fade curve with the mouse. Not simply the default options, but customizing the curve shape. This also applies to crossfades as well as envelope curves (actually, envelope curves already have a default mouse modifier for adjusting the curve shape. Alt-Drag while the mouse is over the automation curve line)
    However, you have to set it up yourself in the Preferences, under Mouse Modifiers. Rather than try to explain the whole thing in this post, let me simply link to The Reaper Blog video that clued me into this feature.
