  • Time is flying by. We are almost at the end of the swim season!
Pool looks good today, as always. The water is shimmering and clear. Although the pool does not seem to be circulating properly. Upon further inspection the problem is with the filter. The pressure is sitting near 30. That means it is time to backwash!
Even though the pool has not been circulating very well, there was still some detectable amount of chlorine in the water.
    Free Chlorine - .2 PPM
    Total Chlorine - .2 PPM
Even with this barely detectable amount of chlorine, the pool still looks amazing.
    PH - 7.5
    This is perfect.
    Total Alkalinity - 70 PPM
That's a great level for the Alkalinity.
    Calcium Hardness - 275 PPM
That's a good level for the CH.
    Cyanuric Acid - 20 PPM
This is more than enough Cyanuric Acid to maintain up to 1 PPM Free Chlorine.
    Phosphates - 500 PPB
I have switched from CV-700 earlier in the season, to Pool Perfect plus Phos Free, and now to Free and Klear by Sea Klear. Each of these products has an enzyme and phosphate remover. So far, the enzyme in each seems to be equal but the CV-700 has a better phosphate remover without question.
    Borates - 60 PPM
    Perfection.
I added all the necessary weekly chemicals. Hopefully the cleaning tech backwashes the filter as he is supposed to. This should fix the pressure issue.
I will see you guys next week! Watch out for school zones!
