First new year cooking for my Appalachian husband - he said I nailed them! Tossed in collard greens and let them stew for a while too. Will definitely be a new staple this year!

I do both soaking methods as well. It’s our family tradition to make sure we have black eyed peas on the stove to bring in the New Year. Yes, all those fresh veggies and flavors in that pot. I know it smells good in there.

Hi am looking forward to trying your recipe I have in the description on the Cajun seasonings it’s read 1/4 is that 1/4 cup of Cajun seasonings?

    • @CookingAtPamsPlace

Hi Frank. Yes 1/4 cup but more or less according to taste. I have corrected the description. Thank you so much for bringing that to my attention. Please let me know how you like it! Thank you so much for your support!

Did you know if you use bicarbonated of soda to your stock it will make your meat super tender and cook your peas faster too ...

Catfish. Can you please teach me how to make catfish?

Pam, you're either using an omnidirectional microphone or your unidirectional mike is angled toward the food instead of your mouth - your voice sounds muffled and the cooking noise is amplified.
