This answered the question that I was wondering just like so many others before me. Glad to have found this channel and looking forward to the journey of better health!!! Cheers
Thanks for the review. I had bought the b-bars through your link with discount, thanks again for that. I find them to be stable enough and made of decent quality material(considering its made in china). However the engineering could use some improvement. When it comes to changing the height of the b-bars it is a little annoying. As I have to stagger the bar(s) from each side in order to raise it or lower it. Do you know of any other companies which produce a similar competing product which allows for raising of the bars with ease and still maintain its rigidity? Other than that I like these bars. I dont have to always drive all the way out to a park to get a work out in. 👍
Agreed. Adjusting the height on the B-Bars is a bit of work because of all the pins, and the pins sometimes fight you and don't go in so easily. Turning the bar upside down helps a lot, I'd even say it's necessary, but it still takes some patience. I've gotten better at with practice though 😊 I haven't tried any other similar products that allow height adjustment. I've tried several that are free moving (unattached) or width-adjustable attached, but none of them were height adjustable like the B-Bars.
I feel that if changing the height was easier (with the current grenade pin system), it would indicate the poles fit together too loosely and actually end up being more shaky.
I bought the Base Bar after seeing your review on it, and I like it immensely. I just bought the B Bar conversion kit after seeing this review. Thanks for the 10 percent off discount code!!!
Thanks for your review. I considered investing in the more affordable Leberts but you answered questions I had about them. I'll definitely go with the B-Bars now, especially with your discount! Thanks again!
Thanks for the review. It helped me alot.. since I have dip bars but they are kinda narrow for the front lever. SO I got a base bar. I can up grade with the attachment that I didn't know they had until this video. I can always get rid of the dip.bsrs and upgrade to the parallel for $10 vs just getting the b bar now. If I wanted to. The coupon helps. THIS help my choice.
I like the minimalistic design of the base bar. It super simple and versatile, plus can fit in my small room. I sold my house recently because I had to, and had to get rid of a bunch of gym stuff. Now Im thinking to have a minimalistic setup in my room without damaging the house because it’s not mine… that means I can’t have pullup bars on the doorframe, I can’t nail anything to the wall, and I don’t want to crack the floor with heavy weights, so I’m thinking resistance bands and a base bar will be my new path. Question, does the base bar easily disassemble so that I can tuck it in the closet?
Seems like a good idea.. I may try this out! One question.. I typically do pull ups with a pretty wide distance between my hands. On this it seems you can't. Did you find that bothersome?
It's surprising how few places there are to hang them when traveling. Tree branches are either too low, or too high to reach. Don't ask the clerk at your hotel for an extension ladder so you can climb the tree out front - their reaction is amusing but you don't get a ladder. You'd think a hotel "gym" would have a pullup bar, but they usually don't.
If you order either of these: save the packaging materials and open them in such a way that you can reuse the boxes. Mine shipped with all kinds of defects all over where you would actually want to grip, and basically it's like razor sharp goosebumps all over the bars. It's "OK" with lifting gloves, but those will probably get damaged quickly. Trying to use the bars that were shipped to me barehanded would mean one wrong slip in any direction and my hands would be scraped to hell. Mine also already had rust on it too! They gave me the option of either sending mine back with a shipping label, or a $45 refund. I had to choose the refund because I didn't save my boxes (like I do with every electronic item shipped to me), not thinking they would arrive in such a disastrous state. Pretty much the worst state I've ever had exercise equipment shipped to me. They were willing to send a replacement, but I didn't save the boxes, so that was on me.
@@mikec5099 What? I was never suggesting that. As I previously stated, they were willing to send me a replacement, but I did not have the original box anymore, so I could not send mine back to get an exchange. I've been using mine since I got it, but I just have to wear lifting gloves to protect my hands, and I make sure to close my eyes when doing pulling exercises below it. It's a *relatively* good product, but defects happen and I was just trying to warn people ahead of time to look for them, and to also keep their packaging until they fully inspect theirs.
Thanks! Absolutely, you can do straight bar dips and strict muscle ups on the b-bars. And I live in northern Illinois, just 5 miles south of the Wisconsin border.
$330 CAD before tax is a bit steep for someone who's just trying to start up with calisthenics and body weight training. Are there any other cheaper alternatives on the market?
Hi Scott. I didn’t know BaseBlocks had a separate UK store, but they did give me this discount link that provides 10% off at checkout. As far as I know, it should work for any geographical location, but it does not qualify for Pro line products: baseblocks.fit/?minusthegym
Sorry if I missed it, but what is the minimum and maximum hand width adjustments on the B-Bar? Thank you very much for the all the video information. I'm considering the B-bars, but the width handle dimensions is what I'm looking for now. Plus, I don't know if clicking the link will still save me 10%.
You’d have to put sandbags or other weights onto the feet of the B-Bars to stabilize them while you work on muscle up negatives and other progressions. Basically, you’d have to rig it for extra stability and train for a *strict* muscle up, no kipping whatsoever, since they’d wobble from any explosiveness. I’ve honestly never found a pull up bar built by a third party (free-standing or mounted) that was perfectly designed for muscle up training. The only bar I’ve consistently used for muscle ups is the one I built in my back yard, and the posts are cemented a meter down into the ground.
We are similar in height and I have long arms. I was just going to check the height of the bars and the length of my arms. If the height is greater than my arm length than we should be good.
@@florian1507 Did you end up getting them? I am the same height and considering the basebar. Wondering if you ended up getting the bbar and if it ended up working out for you?
So using the b-bars as a solo bar without the other doesn't look adviseable? (shorter base). Probably best to get the basebar and then the addon later?
You can still do single bar exercises on the b-bars, like straight bar dips, strict muscle ups, bodyweight rows, etc. You just use one side of them. But if you’d rather only have a single bar for easier storage, then yeah, I’d recommend the basebar and maybe get the expansion pack later if you ever decide to upgrade to b-bars.
Useful video, thanks! I think the basebars is all i need for now. Very good to know there's a conversion kit so that I don't need to experience fomo down the road.
If I am 6’4, on the regular basebar’s highest height setting, will I be able to do full range of motion L sit pull-ups without issues? Or will my range of motion be limited?
I have free standing parallettes and have found them to be great, unfortunately they are not adjustable height wise, but I have a free standing pull up bar, so I do okay. The B Bars look like a great piece of kit that will be worth a future investment. I have one question for you though, do you have a rule of thumb for how wide apart to place the parallettes? Is it just a matter of finding a comfortable distance or is it related to how wide your shoulders are?
Yeah, comfort is most important, but I find shoulder width or slightly wider is best for me. I’ve heard gymnasts recommend the measurement between the bars (inside of each bar) should be minimally the same distance as the edge of your elbow to your finger tips (or wider).
You can attach rings but they will be too low for dips (plus the basebar above would get in the way). You'd want to use the rings for push ups and other low exercises like that, while dips would be done as straight bar dips directly on the base bar (not the rings).
I personally haven't done barre fitness before, but you could definitely use the basebar (or b-bars) as a ballet barre. They provide more than enough support.
Based on this vid, I got the basebar pro (new) and my mate is going to get the B-Bar. All came down to size. I live in an apartment and he lives in a house. Used your promo code :) Thank you for the info!

The height of the pro is adjusted with grenade click pins, just like the original. The main difference is the feet can fold up like the Big Bar, which makes for easier storage. I wasn’t planning on it. That bar is massive and I wouldn’t really be able to use it in some of the rooms of my house. They offered to send it to me but I declined. One thing that does intrigue me is the ability to hang rings on it, though 🤔
They changed it to a link, in case you were still trying my old discount code. The new link is baseblocks.fit/?minusthegym and applies 10% off at checkout for any of the originals (not pro line).
What amazes me is that companies form around such basic products. They're all identical. And they're all such simple designs. No innovation, just cheap mass producable crap which you could make yourself. Also, you'll always be disappointed by how unstable they are. Concrete some posts in the ground and then use metal bars in whatever configuration you desire.
