Just got mine and I think it's pretty awesome. Can't wait to start getting stronger using this thing. Really ingenious design and can support my 230 lbs body with no issues.
Alright! Pulled the trigger finally on upgrading from the original Bullbar. I got the one from the original Kickstarter and have loads of reps on it but there’s enough upgrades here to switch. The old one is now gonna be the beater I keep in my truck this Summer for camping.

I live in an apartment that doesn't really allow for any door frame pull-up bars, and the usual stand alone ones just seem impractical for my space. This product seems perfect, if I'm being honest. It'll definitely have to be one a pick eventually. If the price wasn't so high, I'd grab it now. But I understand that it's a quality product with a lot to offer.
I canceled the order because it was lengthy wait and there were no updates on status of the order. Not even confirmation #! Communication through chat was shit
@@Knightrider909too bad, it is almost February 15. That is when they be shopping the next batch. Hopefully I get good news and my be within those batch being shopping out.
Just got mine, initial impressions are that its an excellent pullup bar & very stable. There were some issues with the courier delivering it, but I can’t speak highly enough of the team at bullbar and the efforts they went to in resolving these issues
This looks sweet. I have been doing thick bands at home since the weather has dropped in temp. All summer I went and did rings at the park almost daily, so I'm very intrigued by this. One last question? Muscle ups? or not with it?
worldwide shipping ... YES 😅 I live in an old house and the door frames are made of wood and are not sturdy enough for a pull up bar. Thats the solution! Thanks for giving the metric numbers, so i dont have to calculate myself 🥰
is it stable? for example, if I put a 20-kilo sandbag on the bottom of it can I connect rubber bands and do pulls and push exercises, like standing chest presses with the rubber band horizontally without the bars of this gym starting to slide on the floor and fall down or slide away? then there is a lot one could do if that option can be added! thanks for showing us, seems really smart to have it mobile in one's home compared to a Swedish ladder or something that needs to be drilled into the wall of one's living room... thanks!!
I haven’t tried weighing it down and doing horizontal band exercises with it. It’s not designed for that, honestly, but I bet with enough weight you could stop it from moving. I don’t know how much weigh that would be, though 🤷🏼♂️ And I’m not sure BullBar would recommend doing that.
Thank you for a proper review. Another guy complained about securing the locking joints and the “time” it took. Although he had the first version and not 2.0, it still seems like he was whining about that.
The locking mechanisms on the 2.0 are adjustable. They are threaded so you can turn them to raise/lower them and make them tighter/looser. So if it feels difficult to lock, just loosen them a couple turns and it’ll solve the problem.
Hmm. That's a good question. The advantage to the Duonamic is I can put in a suitcase and fly to an airbnb with it - I can't do that with the BullBar. But the BullBar has it beat in most other aspects. The BullBar is more versatile and I trust it more than a door frame. So, I'd say I prefer the BullBar, except when traveling (flying) I'll definitely be using the Duonamic. When you hang rings from the BullBar, the height of the rings is a little low, so you're limited to L-sit pull ups and chin ups or bending your legs back, just like the Duonamic in most doorways.
I ca'n't thank you enough for doing this review. I have downsized to a small one bedroom condo in the Boston area. My bedroom is 12' X 15'. I have a foldable weight bench, and the Bowflex 560's (when they first came out and BF promised me the extension to 100 lbs and reneged.) I would have been stuck with the return shipping which was almost half the price, so I kept them. I watched multiple videos about the first BullBar attempt and it didn't fair well. How are you liking the 2.0 version? I assume you are sponsored by them, but I hope you can give me an honest answer. I respect you opinion. I also looked into the basebar and didn't think it was as good. What are your thoughts? Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me. I had to retire from being a Physical Therapist due to cancer, yet I still believe in exercising........all the way til the end. 😎 💪
Hey there. My honest opinion is that the BullBar is the best option for those who want a freestanding calisthenics home gym that’s easily portable and can be “tucked away.” If portability isn’t a factor, there may be other good options out there, such as BaseBlocks’ Big Bar Pro. But I’ve been using my BullBar 2.0 consistently for nearly two months now and I’m very impressed with it. This could be the only bar I owned and I’d be able to keep up on my fitness and even make progress in many areas, so I love it. Btw, I’m really sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis, but good on you to keep exercising. Stay positive and maintain that fighting attitude. I truly believe the words “where there’s a will, there’s a way.”
@@MinusTheGym Thank you for your kind words regarding my health situation. My BullBar (the 2.0 was shipping after 2/15/24) was delivered this past week and I am so grateful for your opinion and steering me in the right direction. I greatly respect your opinion and you were spot on! I continue to prove my healthcare team wrong, maybe this BullBar will keep me on that same path. 😉 (I have a wonderful healthcare team yet one needs to be in control of their own decisions.)
Unfortunately, I haven’t tried the Amazon one, so I don’t know if it’s as portable, sturdy and durable 🤷🏼♂️ I’d suggest read the reviews on it and see how verified purchasers like it.
They are just that, knock-offs from a Chinese company and we have put them on notice due to our products being patent pending. They even used our videos and logos initially 😂. Good luck with service and quality if you choose this route.
I searched for a review of the BullBar after a petite female calisthenics athlete I follow posted about it, and your video came up. Starting to get serious about upper body but at over 40 and being a short female, the gym isn't intimidating with all the tall muscle men around so considering the BullBar for working at home.
Glad you found the video. If it fits in your budget, I highly recommend the BullBar 2.0. Especially for someone shorter. The bar is just under 7’ high, so someone of your stature might find it to be a really ideal height for hanging and working on pull ups. The dips handles and band hooks are a huge bonus too. I personally love it.
Great review thank you. I’ve been watching this bit of kit for a while and now I’ve seen one of my callisthenics heroes using and reviewing it I will now likely get one.
Although this is a bit expensive compared to what I was looking at. It's really nice that it can be put away a lot easier since space is a bit limited.
I have the original BigBar by BaseBlocks and although it’s good for what it is, the BULLBAR 2.0 is definitely more versatile. BaseBlocks also released a BigBar Pro recently which looks comparable, but it does not fold up like BULLBAR, so I’d say it might be a good option for people who don’t need the compact/portable feature.
At 6’1”, most bars aren’t tall enough for me. I had to buy a super heavy duty pull up bar that adjusts to like 10’. I wish one of these portable ones would go super high…
@@churchhymnsandpsalms The pullup bar on this video is 80.5". The Big Bar Pro, from BaseBlock is 89" tall and judging from both videos is a bit more sway resistant, though it is not portable like the unit that is featured in the video.
Nice. But other than the pull-up bar, you can do most of those other exercises on a device that's almost ALWAYS available at a thrift store, that's also rated at 300 Lbs., that costs only 5 or 10 bucks. I got mine for 5 bucks BTW. What is it? A simple Walker.
The distance between the dip handles can vary since they taper, so you have slightly wider and narrower options. The distance between them is 20” to 23.5” / 50.8cm to 59.69cm.
Thank you for reviewing this product, but obviously you are benefiting from sales so one has to take what you say with that in mind. For instance you play down the fact that it’s only 6ft 8.5 inches tall - THAT is a big deal as one can clearly see that you can’t extend your legs when you use the pull-up bar. The other factor is that we don’t know if version 2.0 has fixed the problem with the pull-up bar failing, it would have been good if you had researched the problems with version 1.0 (there were a few) & asked the appropriate questions to the company.
Nice design, but I wish it was about 6 inches higher. And that’s a lot of money for something that can only handle 300#’s. I’m assuming that the weight limit on the dips is about the same as well.
They’re both effective in my experience. GtG can absolutely make you stronger. In fact, that method was the only way I was able to reach 21 pull ups in one set (my best PR about 3-4 years ago). Pavel is a huge advocate of GtG too. It balances the training variables by being low intensity yet high volume and frequency. The opposite of that - high intensity but low frequency/volume - is also an effective method because the training variables are still balanced. That’s why I’ve also made huge gains in strength by training a movement only twice per week for 3-5 sets but with high intensity (to failure and in a lower rep range). Between the training variables of frequency, intensity and volume, you always want at least one of those to be low so you can recover adequately. As long as that’s the case, the method should theoretically work for strength and even hypertrophy if diet is on point. So, in a nutshell, both methods are effective and I believe the “better” of the two comes down to the individual’s schedule, preferences and specific goals.
@@MinusTheGym ahh ok then. I thought gtg was just better for increasing rep numbers and form with some indirect strength and hypertrophy gains too. So could i do them both on the same day. I have my higher intensity workouts and since gtg shouldnt fatigue u, couldn't i do both of them on the same days without any compromisation. Im trying to get better to be able to do things like high waist line pullups and planche pushups. And also can gtg be done with added weight
Great review. Just order and used the discount code. Ordered for the wife and i as she is weak in the arms and she wants to get stronger. Also order extra bands to assist her. Hope it lives up to the hype in this video, unfortunately they will not shit till feb 15.
.... I see bullbar does not ship to south africa!? ... thats a damn shame, since its just the sort of portable equipment needed to round off my bodyweight training. Are there any plans to make this gym easy to purchase more readily?
I can't claim to be an expert on shipping costs, but id imagine a small company shipping a single unit of a fairly large item halfway across the world would be rather expensive. It's not the company's fault at all, that's just how much it costs. Id imagine until they find a UK distributor (fingers crossed) the shipping will remain pretty expensive. It's a shame as it looks like a fantastic bit of kit.
The distance between the dip handles can vary since they taper, so you have slightly wider and narrower options. The distance between them is 20” to 23.5” / 50.8cm to 59.69cm.
I use the Gravity Fitness and it works very well but I'm looking for something foldable. This seems to be what I'm looking for, but of course there is quite the premium tag to it...
Yes, you can absolutely use a band for assistance on pull ups and many other exercises with BULLBAR 2.0. I’ve been doing band assisted one-arm chin ups and front lever swings and it works great.
BullBar beats the original Big Bar, imo. It’s the same height, but BullBar folds down nicely, is easily portable and has dip handles to attach for a variety of other exercises. That said, BaseBlocks did release a Big Bar Pro that has parallel bars attached and is 8” taller, but it doesn’t look compact at all. It’s massive. And it’s the same price as the BullBar (actually $50 more at the moment). So, don’t get me wrong, I love BaseBlocks, but I think I’d go with BullBar over the original or pro Big Bar, unless the extra height was truly necessary and I didn’t need it to be compact/portable. In that case, Big Bar Pro might be a good option.
Hey there. I did confirm with BullBar before making the video that they’re able to ship internationally. Maybe contact them? Sounds like just a misunderstanding.
i'm about 6'1 and i wish this came higher so that i can free hang a bit. i think it's way too short for that for me, shame because everything else checks out.
Yeah, I’m 5’11” and the BullBar is a good height for me. I do have to bend my knees or engage hip flexion a bit when doing pull ups, but I’m fine with. Most freestanding bars are 7’ or lower.
The BaseBar Pro is a low/medium height horizontal bar. Not bashing BaseBars, I still have mine and use it, but BULLBAR is totally different equipment. It’s a full size pull up bar and dip station with band hooks and you can hang rings on it. Kind of an all-in-one calisthenics gym.
Shaking like a leaf in the wind with just some slow bodyweight pullups. The frame would probably implode instantly with some muscle ups or weighted pull ups.
Jared from BullBar told me they have a neutral grip add-on in development that should be released soon. So keep an eye out and maybe you’ll change your mind once that’s available.
Yeah, I showed it briefly at the end of the exercise section. It’s great for training dips, muscle ups, ring push ups and pretty much everything above the rings. For exercises below the rings, rows are fine, as are L-sit pull ups and chin ups, but any outward exercises like face pulls or reverse flys don’t work because your weight will potentially move the whole BullBar. Hope that helps!
That would be fantastic. I’d start with support@bullbarfit.com and probably reach out on Instagram and Facebook too. I’m not sure if they’re already talking with a distributor or not, but definitely worth a shot 👍
Looks like a great bit of kit - still, 323 euros! This reminds me of that barbell x3 thing with the resistance bands. It's clever, but it is really asking a question that no-one is asking. All imho....
I studied Physics in college and was very Pro Metric System, got into huge arguments with my Dad about it, lol. Then I studied Machine Shop with some actual hands-on Physicists who had to build their own experimental equipment. They were pretty emphatic about the Accuracy of the American system of feet and inches. Plus, they had the experimental evidence to back it up. The Metric system is great for easy Math, but for Accuracy, there is just some kind of Synchronicity to the Geometry and Arithmetic of the Natural Universe that is lost with the Decimal System. I'm all Pro Base Twelve now! There are Twelve Notes in the Chromatic Scale on the Piano, Twelve Months in the Year, etc., etc. Coinkydink? Nope. Cheers, Merry Christmas and Salam! Jack
Yes, I live in the UK and we're supposed to have changed to the Metric System 50 years ago, but it never really happened. Schools stopped teaching the Imperial System in the late 1980s, however, most people are still using miles, pints, feet, inches, pounds and stones. We currently have a hybrid system where young people and most immigrants use the Metric System and older people use the Imperial System. Both demographics are confused though because our petrol is sold in litres, but our road signs are in miles, yards and feet. Milk is sold in pints by supermarkets shops, but in litres by smaller shops. Personally, I prefer the Imperial System because it's organic, life-based and emotive. Metric is useful scientifically, but for everyday use Imperial is much better.
The biggest advantage is Economies of Scale - we pay more because most of the world uses metric, so imperial is a smaller batch. I do like that our measurements have ‘key’ values - 6’ is the start of tall (1.83m - LOL!). 200lbs, etc.
So this looks really cool but now there are like 3 that are similar and about the same price as well. Basebars,Fit home gym and now this Bullbar. I’d like to get one but I’m wondering which is best. Anybody have any recommendations?
The Big Bar Pro from BaseBlocks is a valid comparison because it has the parallel bars attached and is the same price as the BullBar. I’ve never used the Big Bar Pro (I have the original Big Bar) but the Pro looks pretty awesome to me. It assembles together with click pins which is pretty simple, but it’s not as easy as the BullBar. The main advantage of the BullBar is how it folds up and is highly portable. It pops up in a minute flat. Big Bar won’t be that quick but it’s probably a bit sturdier. So, if portability and easy takedown are not important to you, the Big Bar Pro might be worth looking into. I can’t speak to the Fit! home gym, though. Never used it and don’t know much about it 🤷🏼♂️
Costing me almost US 700$ after Canadian shipping. BullBar Ridiculously over priced. I decided to go with the BigBar Pro BaseBlocks for 300$ including shipping

Rubbish ! Just upgrade your dumbbells to the next unit up .
I’m mad keen to buy this, but the shipping cost to the UK is £242 😢
Was just about to say the same its madness.
That's _just_ the shipping cost?? Yeesh I'll stick with my G.F. rack...
Is the coupon on the phone
Or do I need a full size lap top ??
How much weight can this contraption hold ???
It has a weight capacity of 300 lbs. And you can do checkout on any device and enter MINUS20 for the promo code 👍
Hello, your around the world link is not working. I enter my details and submit but I do not receive any mail
Do you know where i xan buy this second hand
Can the height be adjusted?
What is the distance between the dip handles?
The distance between the dip handles can vary since they taper, so you have slightly wider and narrower options. The distance between them is 20” to 23.5” / 50.8cm to 59.69cm.
It's really nice, but wish that it folded flat enough to slide under the bed. Very good review and product.
Yes I agree, more compact would be nice, but then it would probably be shorter than 81” or less stable 🤷🏼♂️
I use the Gravity Fitness and it works very well but I'm looking for something foldable. This seems to be what I'm looking for, but of course there is quite the premium tag to it...
This may be good for a short person. Way too small for my 6’4” frame.
Im 250 pounds and 6ft5, think this would work well for a guy like me?
I’m 6’5” and 230 and I have the original Bullbar. I converted from weights and it kicks my butt.
What’s your height and weight ?
You aren't supposed to do muscle ups on it? Did I hear that correctly?
Correct. Any free standing bar is not designed for training muscle ups or any explosive exercise.
no wide grip?
Would you recommend assisted pull-ups with a resistance band for the bull bar? Thanks.
Yes, you can absolutely use a band for assistance on pull ups and many other exercises with BULLBAR 2.0. I’ve been doing band assisted one-arm chin ups and front lever swings and it works great.
@@MinusTheGym thanks for your quick response! This was helpful.
How is this compare to the FIT! pull up bar?
I haven’t used the FIT! so I don’t feel qualified to comment on it, but BULLBAR has a comparison of specs with it on their website.
Just want a really high pull Up bar..where you can keep your legs straight. This won’t cut it. Why couldn’t they make like a foot higher?
how do you like it vs the Baseblocks Big Bar?
Can you use the TRX with it?
No shipping to Europe rip, would have loved this.
Hey there. I did confirm with BullBar before making the video that they’re able to ship internationally. Maybe contact them? Sounds like just a misunderstanding.
Only US, Canada, UK and Ireland
That’s a bummer. Sorry to hear that :(
@tribuzy shipping to UK is £142
How high can the Bullbar go? I'm 6' and want to hang freely without bending my knees
That won’t happen. It’s 81” tall.
With hand variant grips it will be perfect
Yeah, they said they have a neutral grip add-on they’ll be releasing soon 👍
i'm about 6'1 and i wish this came higher so that i can free hang a bit. i think it's way too short for that for me, shame because everything else checks out.
Did you ever mention you are about 5'11"? How tall are you?
Yeah, I’m 5’11” and the BullBar is a good height for me. I do have to bend my knees or engage hip flexion a bit when doing pull ups, but I’m fine with. Most freestanding bars are 7’ or lower.
How would you say this compares with the Basebar Pro?
The BaseBar Pro is a low/medium height horizontal bar. Not bashing BaseBars, I still have mine and use it, but BULLBAR is totally different equipment. It’s a full size pull up bar and dip station with band hooks and you can hang rings on it. Kind of an all-in-one calisthenics gym.
Thanks, I ordered the BULLBAR, using your code, hopefully I will like it. I do like the Basebar rings, will probably get those as well.
I’m going to take a chance and buy it. I’ll let you know how it goes.
It would be perfect if there was two holes to on the upper side to use it as a squat rack too.
How thick is the bar? Compared to the Big Bar
It’s a smaller diameter than the Big Bar. 31.5 mm for the pull up bar, 33.5 mm for the dip handles.
can you do pushups on the higher setting or not stable enough?
Yeah, you can do incline pushups on the high setting of the dip handles. At least at my body weight, about 185 lbs, it doesn’t move.
Shaking like a leaf in the wind with just some slow bodyweight pullups. The frame would probably implode instantly with some muscle ups or weighted pull ups.
Using those bands on the bar is quite dangerous. I have seen whole squats racks airborne when not anchored to the ground.
Had a weld snap without even using it but replacement was easy
Over all, very good presentation. Thanks.
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! Many thanks 👍🏻
I love the idea, not so much the price
Is it weather proof? Can I put this in the yard?
I don’t believe so. I haven’t heard that before. And it’s made of industrial steel so it would most likely rust if left out in the rain.
Nice! This is cheaper than a visit to the doctor for sure.
If you don’t care about portability, you’re better off with a regular standing pull up bar, for price and stability
Yeah, the shaking was very noticeable.
@@peterd3929 Right?! Thing is shaky AF. I guess that tall and freestanding, no way around that.
My go to pullup is neutral grip. Why couldn't they have added a couple of handles for that. If they did I'd be all about it but I think I'm out.
Jared from BullBar told me they have a neutral grip add-on in development that should be released soon. So keep an eye out and maybe you’ll change your mind once that’s available.
@@MinusTheGym Cool, I'll keep an eye out for that upgrade...thanks for the info buddy!
Did you use gymnastic rings on it? If so, what was your experience like?
Yeah, I showed it briefly at the end of the exercise section. It’s great for training dips, muscle ups, ring push ups and pretty much everything above the rings. For exercises below the rings, rows are fine, as are L-sit pull ups and chin ups, but any outward exercises like face pulls or reverse flys don’t work because your weight will potentially move the whole BullBar. Hope that helps!
Can you add weight to the bar to prevent the bar from moving when doing ring face pulls and such
@@MinusTheGym Thanks.
How is the grip on the bar? Looks to be foam 🤷♂️. Awesome review, Merry Christmas!
It's industrial steel. No foam.
Love to distribute this in the UK. How can I get in touch with the manufacturers?
That would be fantastic. I’d start with support@bullbarfit.com and probably reach out on Instagram and Facebook too. I’m not sure if they’re already talking with a distributor or not, but definitely worth a shot 👍
Sandbags might help the wobble
Jack
I believe it has to do with its origin in the cubit system and its teleological origin to our anatomy.
@@Ronnock that's exactly what I was thinking. Along with the inverse of the various metabolites.
Never used it and don’t know much about it 🤷🏼♂️
@@MinusTheGym Thanks man! I appreciate the info.
They all look great in their own way but wanna narrow it down best as possible.
Costing me almost US 700$ after Canadian shipping. BullBar Ridiculously over priced. I decided to go with the BigBar Pro BaseBlocks for 300$ including shipping
I’m grabbing one of these for sure and definitely using your code lol, thanks for the review 💪🏿
Ordered mine on 1/4/24, hope it gets here soon. That and no updates.
There was a batch that started shipping on 1/10. I’m not sure how many orders that batch accommodated and if they’re still shipping out, but the next batch ships on 2/15. If you want, can use the support chat on their website bullbarfit.com to check the status of your order. They’re very responsive on the chat.
Had me until the 300lbs limit. That's not much for weighted pull ups. I was interested until then though!!
