    I’ve owned a 2009 Hyundai Genesis Sedan 3.8L for 8 years and it was a great daily driver. With a good balance of performance and luxury. I even managed to surprise a few German sedans and American muscle cars with how quickly the Genesis moves down the road. Two years ago, I gave the Genesis to my daughter. It now has 241,000 miles on the odometer and still going. I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY IT AGAIN ❤😁

      Genesis and Lexus aren't really trying to do the same thing, so, therefore, one isn't necessarily better than the other (although in terms of profitability and sales figures, it's clear that Lexus has a broader buyer base). Lexus is doing what it has always done: make luxury models of Toyota vehicles. With their great fuel economy, reputation for reliability, and ease of service, they will always sit near the top with sales figures. Now, of course, Genesis is making some very competitive vehicles and has a strategy of its own: prioritizing luxury and seconding performance. Hopefully, this works out for them over the next few years as they grow their model range and continue producing great vehicles.

      Disagree. I do prefer the old DESIGN but the new one has some major benefits IMO. First off the OLED makes these new screens some of the nicest to use and look at in any car. Mercedes Hyperscreen and BMWs latest stuff look cheap when you start using it because it's really obvious at night it's a cheap LCD and the bezels are massive. Genesis did a good job of making the bezels minimal. Second this screen is technically integrated better into the dash in respect to the old center infotainment. Third the new steering wheel is REALLY nice. It's the perfect amount of sportiness and luxury look blended together. Its two tone look and the materials used are perfection. They did get rid of the 3D thing but that's a bit of a gimmick and for a decent amount of people it hurts or bothers to use. A nice OLED and a HUD is better for most people. Fourth the new interior has much improved RGB ambient lighting and is more impressive.
      Design I do like the old one more but the new interior is still excellent and much better looking than the tacked on BMW screen, or the cheap LCDs in Benz Hyperscreen with massive bezels, or Audis stuff which also has massive bezels and odd shapes/dash like in the all new A5 sedan hatchback thing. This is an excellent interior for 70K

    I don't believe that it is accurate to state that Honda and Toyota introduced their new upscale marques with warmed over existing mainstream models. The Legend and the LS400 were designed from scratch to set a new standard for Acura and Lexus. It is true that following models may have been related to Honda and Toyota vehicles, but the top models were never clones of models in the mainstream vehicle lineup, and in the case of the Lexus LS this is still true.

      Lexus started with the LS and the ES. The LS was unique, but the best seller in the lineup was the ES which was of course based on an existing Toyota similarly Acura started with the legend and the Integra, the legend was related to a rover 800, but the Integra was related to other existing Honda platforms and was always the better seller… since then, both brands have sold significantly higher volumes in the products related to other mainstream counterparts.

    • @naveenthemachine
      @naveenthemachine 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AAutoBuyersGuide but clearly that was a mistake for Lexus. A gussied up Camry isn’t luxury. If I wanted a gussied up Camry I’d get a top end Camry.
      And the Integra being related to the civic is fine as the civics a class leader, the benchmark, the vehicle that transcends the mainstream compact sedan segment. That why the Integra can get away with it
      If a mainstream platform transcends the segment only then is it okay for luxury brands to share platforms. Like the aviator or integra. They can get away with reusing mainstream platforms since they already transcend the segment

    Acura and Lexus have a lot of catching up to do. But then again, you are paying like 20 plus grand more to get the top of the line g80. Top Lexus es is in the low 50s and Tlx type S in the high 50s. g80 is about 80k. So definitely a huge price jump. As far as looks I think the Acura looks the best but, interior space is horrible. And the Tech is much better in the G80. Lexus is very outdated compared to the other brands. But out of all 3 when it comes to reliability I will give that to the Lexus.
