Im not religious but i pray daily to Mother of Yeshua the Christ ..my only lord and savoir and friend of all who ask for his help. And I would love to sing with you this hymn ..i been in churchs singing for years when i was young.
Problem -- Mary needed a Savior, too. Therefore, she doesn't qualify as deity.

Why pray to Mary when you can pray directly to God?
@@ikonix360 Because Jesus is known to never refuse a request from his mother (as shown when Jesus did not refuse to obey his mother at the wedding in Cana). If Mary takes our requests to her son, then he will grant them.

Plus the Bible doesn't mention anything about Mary taking our requests to Jesus.
The way you worded that makes it sound like we can pray to Mary for most anything such as $1M, new house, new car ETC... and Jesus will just automatically grant it.

I love hearing a beautiful young woman like you playing a beautiful carol on the pipe organ.
This is typically the opening hymn for my church's Christmas Eve service (which is the highpoint of Christmas for me) and my church's music director says it's one of his favorite things each year to hear everyone singing it as he plays it.
I adore this version, with the beautiful nostalgic descant to round it off in most performances. But this version is typically performed Adeste fideles/O come all ye faithful/Sing choirs of angels. And I do so miss the Deum de Deo verse, which we always used to hear when I was a kid but never seems to turn up anymore. I wish someone would bring it back.
Outstanding. My favorite Christmas song would be Silent Night but this version of O come, All Ye Faithful could easily become number 1 for me. Thank you.

i think my favourite festive hymn is the seven joys of mary Stephen Cleobury setting and its in 100 carols for choirs which also has Jesus Child by John Rutter both great hymns. for those who don't know Stephen Cleobury he was organist and master of the choristers at Kings college Cambridge England. sadly he is no longer with us and passed away some years ago but his music lives on.

Thank you, Sarah! I was introduced to the descants of Sir David while in my first year at university. The organ professor, who was also organist and musical director at All Saints Anglican church, asked four of us (2 trumpets majors and trombone majors) to play for the 11p mass on Christmas Eve. Needless to say, we all were completely in awe of the harmonies and, of course, the descants. That was over 50 years ago. The arrangements came to be Christmas for me. I also had the pleasure of playing for all the high feast days and Remembrance Sundays for many years.

I’d love to play along on the piano with this, absolutely stunning
This was beautiful and I envy anyone who can play a pipe organ of that size. What amazes me the most is not necessarily the way they play, it’s how they know what to do with all the buttons, switches, knobs, pedals and so on. I’m probably going to get some flack from this, but I’d rather hear someone play a good old Hammond B3 organ, a person who knows how that organ is suppose to be played, as an accompaniment to a piano. These pipe organs are mostly in Catholic, Methodist type churches. Hammond B3’s are played mostly in Black churches and Pentecostal churches. I’m Pentecostal and love hearing the piano, organ, drums and bass!
Haha yeah I think it is all a matter of muscle memory once you've been playing for a while! I see organists on even bigger organs with even more stops, and I wonder how in the world they remember everything! But they somehow do! 😆

I was so fascinated with the bells that I might have forgotten to start singing at V1! Possibly a stronger start needed there? Otherwise what a fabulous rendition; all that was missing was a few hundred congregation to carry it all along; well done!

Sir David Willcocks CBE MC. awarded the Military Cross for conspicuous bravery during the Battle of Normandy 1944, Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and one of the greatest English church musicians of the 20th Century. Sir David composed this arrangement when he was Director of Music, King's College Cambridge. Here it is performed at King's College in December 2016:

@@SweetSarahnadeMusic They found two manuscripts in Paço Ducal de Vila Viçosa, one of them entitled Crux Fidelis and both from 1640. The manuscript of John Francis Wade is dated 1743 and translated the anthem (known as the Portuguese Anthem at the Portuguese embassy) as Come All Ye Faithful. I also wish you a Merry Christmas and an excellent new year and thanks for posting this interpretation.
