Karin!!! hello hello! Loved this video - honeys are beautiful! I have sparkling gourami and adore the little sounds they make. I have considered some honeys - hopefully these guys will breed for you! The closeup photobombs by the cories are awesome! They seem to like getting into the picture. The more I watched these two honeys - I bet you will end up with a lot of fry! I have gotten better with raising up my sparklie fry. They are extremely tiny though :)

What are your thoughts on these with cherry shrimp?
I want a pair in my aquascape, for mid an upper, but also want neocardinia.
It sounds like the honey gourami will mostly leave the shrimp alone, though may munch on the baby shrimps on occasion, especially if you don't have enough cover. That hopefully won't be an issue in a heavily planted tank though.

Your Honey Gouramis are beautiful, and also not so shy. I just bought two; a pair I think. They look to be smaller than yours (about 1"/2.5 cm), and they hide in the plants most of the time. None of my other fish bother them; they seem shy on their own.

Could I keep just one in my 10 gallon/40 litre? Or do they really need to be a group? I was just gonna keep one with a bunch of tetra or cherry rasbora

I wanted a pair of honey gouramis so badly, but made the mistake of getting a female beta prior to the gouramis. After researching and looking things up I made the decision to make my tank a female beta community rather than attempt to put 2 gouramis with the female beta that was already established. I now have a red white a blue beta, pure white with rose colored fins, and a pure turquoise beta in the community with 2 ADF. Still love gouramis and may get a 5 gallon to get 1 or 2 as a species only tank
