If you ever have time, I’d love a video in suggestions to help her work towards standing. The pediatrician has recommended I work with her but I’m at a loss as to how to start.
@dakinelu my baby crawls same spider man crawl Can you tell me when shen started walking , because she feels more comfort in crawling than walking and she is fast in crawling and does not get hurt while walking she gets hurt or she fell down so she is afraid.
@@sapnaaadyavlogs9106 hi friend! Yes, my little one is cautious and it took her a little while to transition towards different forms of movement. When she was around a year old, she began trying to stand more (assisted and unassisted, especially pulling herself to stand). Just a little after her first birthday, she began cruising (very tentatively taking steps while holding on to furniture). Around 14 months, we bought her a push-cart (a balancing toy with wheels where she could walk around while pushing the cart). She took her first unassisted steps by herself a little after 14 months, but she didn’t really transition to walking as her main way of moving around until a little after 15 months. She is now 20 months old and is starting to run.
I’m so glad you described this! My second is doing this. He was never a fan of tummy time & would always just try to go to sleep instead. Now he is about to be 8 months. His crawling style is very much what you’ve described, pivoting on his tummy, pushing off with his toes more than planting/pulling his hands. He’s become quite speedy and efficient! I’ve been giving him more tummy time at home and I know they are at daycare as well.

I have an unrelated question. My twins are 5 months adjusted and they dont really play with toys and if they do they get angry at the toys? Also they are crawling but not sitting yet, is that an issue?
My bub is 8 months old and he is not crawling yet, he does a little of bum shuffle and moves around the mat, but he just kinda pull himself to the furniture. I have a quick question, little peanut hates with each and every cell of his body the tummy time, he does the plane but he doesn’t roll much or change directions, he just does the plane and cries to be picked up, although he can push his body up and also hold his body up for a little in the four point position, should I worry or talk with the doctor? Thank you so much
My baby started crawling backwards at 4months she just clocked 5 a few days ago and is beginning to turn round but has not been able to move forward. Thanks for clearing my worries.
I was told that when babies skip crawling they tend to have decreased F/GMC, bilateral integration, motor planing, and even cognitive issues. What do you think about that?
My older son was a bit delayed so I have no expectationnfor my typically developing daughter. She does the rolling and inch worm/low crawling. She's only 10 months, so I'm curious to see how her mobility continues to develop! Thanks for this thorough and clear video!
5.5 months and my little girl is at the inchworm/classic crawling stage right now. Also trying to pull up and balance on everything. Such a fun stage lol
What is a good way to address and correct the "Step-Scooting" crawl where one leg is dominantly up and stepping, while the other leg is down and dragging/scooting?
Hi my daughter is 13 month daughter of she was crawling normally but all of sudden she stayed dng step crawl mix is it normal some sites have suggested it may be autism
My first daughter did the army thing, the rolling and classic crawling, my second does the foot bottom thing, he shuffles on the bottom bu uses a foot to move forward
Our 4 month old is definitely an aeroplaner right now, lol! She's still building her strength up but she's getting there. She was NOT a fan of tummy time in the earlier months but we've finally gotten to a point where it's enjoyable thanks to your other video about different tummy time tricks :)
My son doesn’t move his arms yet just kicks hard off the bed/ground and he moves/crawls along like that. He’s 4 months, how can we teach him to move his arms too? His legs are perfect just the arms are lacking.
My 5m old is very large in the torso (weighs over 30lbs) & has always struggled with tummy time. It's gotten a lot better recently, but he prefers the crab walk to scooch around.
My daughter did only the "army crawl" and went on to walking after that. Only after she was able to walk on her feet, she occasionally went on hands and knees and crawled. When I was a baby I skipped the classic crawling, too. I was a bottom shuffler 🙈
Hi Emma,, I'm really worried about my son didn't do classic crawling..he is 9 month old now..he does commando army crawling using his both arms...now I feel better..happy to hear it's normal... ❤️ Thank you dear...
I need advice: my baby is 7 m 1w old. She rarely presses up on her hands, but she is fully capable of doing so she just chooses not to. I have done the exercise of laying her over my leg and she can hold herself on 2 hands and even lift herself up on them. The only issue is that she chooses not to lift herself up most of the time. She will occasionally do so but it's pretty rare. As a result I really cant get any crawling training done. Please help!
Thank you. My baby is doing all of the crawling techniques you mentioned at 8 months, but she is not sitting independently. Should I be worried? I asked my doctor, and she checked her over and told me not to be worried. But she's really hating sitting and not sitting at all!
Great video! Are there things we should do to encourage or help with crawling? Apart from tummy time? Or is this something they will naturally discover for themselves?
Hi. I have read so many things about army crawling as "atypical development". I wonder how true that it and what's ur thought on it? My baby is 11 months and been army crawling with occasional rocking on 4s. Thank you.
Love your videos! They’ve been so so helpful! We have a bum shuffler and am trying to encourage her to move into traditional crawling. Bit concerned about hip development if she hasn’t got the pressure on the hip joint in the crawling position - should I be? When she bum shuffles her legs are spread wide apart (brilliant yoga move putting her weight on her arms)
How would you help a baby crawling who's left radius bone ia missing aswell his left humeral head is missing? Trying to figure out a safe way to help him crawling, his elbow is stiff so his left arm is straight with limited bending but not intentional as he can't bend it for himself and his wrist is rotated inward. Therefore the traditional tummy time is not working for him, we have to use a pad underneath his left shoulder /chest for tummy time to get to the same level with his right arm. Is there any safe way to support his development for crawling?
You mention being concerned if baby only uses one side to move, can you go into more detail regarding this. My little one is 9.5 months and just recently started moving from his sitting position. His left leg is folded in front of him (as if still in sitting position) and he extends his right leg back to push forward. His hands in contact with floor to balance, torso off ground.
Kind of relieved rolling counts as crawling. Princess started rolling around 11m, corrected -1m. After the Beta-blocker therapy for a hemangioma stopped, she's even more energetic. Does the pivot and gets her bottom up when laying on her back (type: bridge) and recently on her belly (4 points). :-) but has fun rolling quickly and stretching her legs up. Yet, I feel guilty, I let her down or hold her back. though, it might be she just needed more time.
So step crawl is normal ? My baby took her first crawl steps at 8 months. She’s 8 months a week now and is always getting into crawl position , then lifts on leg then gets back into sitting position. I think she’s going to end up step crawling.
My 8 month old was using the rolling method to get to things just before turning 6months. She stopped and is now doing a combo of pivoting, pushing herself up onto her forearms (sometimes she can do it sometimes she can’t), army crawling, pushing herself backwards and trying to pull herself up. I’m assuming this is normal. It’s like she had something mastered and then she forgot and is now trying to master multiple things at once.
My baby is an inch warm but then the starts putting 1 foot tucked under as if she’s getting in a standing position the step and crawl. and the other day she got in a planking position with both of the feet planted on the ground but I wouldn’t be surprised she loves to stand, my only issue is that my daughter rarely rolls to her back even though I’ve seen her roll from tummy to back be she doesn’t care for it
Hi there my so my son is pretty much doing everything all at once started out cruising first and because he can walk independently yet he is crawling . So that should hopefully be progress in the right direction
I know it’s something all babies do but honestly I’m in awe with my baby daughter’s progress! 😂 My baby’s 5.5 months and she does a weird combination of army and inch warm crawling whereby her tummy & legs stay almost completely in completely in contact with floor but she also bring the one knee slightly to the side of her body and use her legs to advance together with her arms (she looks kind of like she’s wiggling side to side when crawling).
As a pediatric OT, don't you feel it is very important for babies to get weight through their hands? They would not get this with going straight to cruising or with bottom scooting. Also, if a baby only rolls, are you concerned about fractionation, core strength, primitive reflexes?? Bottom scooting and rolling also do not allow them to learn reciprocation of their extremities which is very helpful in midline awareness and coordination later in life. I am interested in your input, thank you!!
My friends daughter only bottom scooted and she ended up being an elite cheerleader/tumbler and had a D1 scholarship in college for cheering. Didn’t hurt her!
Hi Emma..ur videos are really useful.. can you please do a video to encourage baby to lift their body up and crawl from the commando crawling. Also please do one to choose a good car seat too. I bought high chair as per your suggestion . Also most of your videos are right on time for me. My lo is 7mo at the moment and being a pandemic and first time mom i rely largely on your channel. Thanks a lot for sharing these❤️
My 3 month old tends to use his left arm more to roll, hold himself up and grab at things. His right seems to be just as capable of doing those things but he usually chooses to use the left. How can I encourage him to use his right more
My daughter started crawling incredibly early but I’m wondering how to help her explore as well as ways to ease my anxiety about it. I have really really bad postpartum anxiety as well as just general anxiety disorder so her crawling is great but at the same time I want her to be able to explore without me being a helicopter mom. She is very random with milestones. She started pivoting and scooting around five months and then at exactly 6 months started crawling.
Yeah my daughter does a combination of the mixed cross crawl and the bear crawl. Ive noticed she can transition very quickly from sitting to almost standing on her own but having to lean on objects or me. (Similar to cruising) but when im not in the room she uses the mixed cross crawl to find me
Will likely need to consult a doctor about plagiocephaly. @ 6 months you’ll want to do it soon. Also try not to leave baby on his/her back when not sleeping. Limit use of car seat or reclined position (bouncy seat, etc.). You can prop baby in the corner of a laundry basket as an inexpensive way of supported sitting (it also keeps toys mostly in reach to reduce frustration) and encourage tummy time.
So is step crawl the same as three legged? They are okay? I heard it’s important to get babies to do symmetrical crawling though so when should I worry if three legged is all my baby prefers? Granted, he pulls up wonderfully and walks with assistant just fine.
My little one experiments with different forms of mobility: Bum shuffle, roll, army crawl, and crusing. However he doesn't pivot much when on his tummy. He prefers sitting and reach out/leaning to work for toys, or rolling, or launching himself forward from a sitting position. Should I be concerned that he doesn't pivot much? Also, how do babies who cruise eventually move into pulling into a kneeling or standing position, and how can I help facilitate this without causing him to refuse sitting/tummy time? My worry is that since he hasnt been a fan of tummy time since sitting up, he doesn't really do 'transitional movements'. Note: if he's sitting on my leg with his knees at a right angle, he can stand up.
Is the rolling crawl actually considered a true “crawling” style or is it just being able to roll both ways (not crawling yet)? My baby’s doctor considers it a gross motor delay as my 9 month child is also not yet pulling up to stand or going from lying on tummy/back to sitting. My baby does do the aeroplane/swimming, pushing to extended arms and pivoting though. Baby’s been rolling around from one side of the room to the other for ages (since about 7 months), but I’m concerned whether that’s considered crawling or not. Any help or resources would be appreciated!
My son just started crawling at 7.5 months. He has normal movements but he crawls in a swimming motion with his stomach on the floor and uses one arm to pull his body. He uses both feet as well but doesn't use his knees 😮
My little girl has been sitting unassisted since 5 months but is now 7 months and still not crawling she has been pivoting in a circle for about a month
My daughter skipped crawling at 9-10 months (she’s 16 now) My son is 7 months and I think he’s gonna do the bear crawl like I did when I was a baby but he doesn’t lift his head up and yells at the floor or bed wherever he is crawling. Is there a trick or tips to help him learn to lift use his arms? Or will he eventually pick up on it as he gets stronger
My baby is almost 7 months old. She now almost sits by herself and only crawl backwards, but she started to also lift on her knees and balance. I heard that it is not recommended to force your baby into sitting so soon, and it is more important to let the baby crawl instead, and only after that to teach her to sit. Is it right?
Babysat twins one summer. One little girl got “stuck” under chair because she only knew how to crawl backwards. Meanwhile, the other little girl was mid bottle. It was at this moment mom decided to call and check in. Since I’d left the phone on the counter, I had to put the bottle down to answer. Needless to say, it was hard to reassure mom that everything was fine with both girls crying. 🥰🥰
My 4.5 month old just started pushing backwards accross the room and I had to check, because I dont remember my oldest doing that, but the older one didnt start crawling until almost 7 months. Im guessing my younger child will be crawling much earlier.😅
My son is using his had to stand on all for or to go from all four to siting possition. Is that normal? I’m a little concerned he is 10 months old and is trying to crawl and is able to stand on his feet without support for a few seconds. This thing with the head has been driving me crazy lately. Please if you can respond I will aprichiate it.

My 7 month old baby is still rollong across the room and is still beginning to army crawl she's still slow on it. Is she on track or should i be worried?
If she army crawling that great! I would make sure she has no socks on her feet that way she can start propelling her self forward. Babies will usually naturally move on to the step when their ready. A lot of people don’t realize that’s emu crawling is just has important at hand and knee crawling both are important for brain development.

@@EmmaHubbard hi emma love ur vids my baby is 9 mo too she is now crawling perfectly but she often rubs her bum against the floor is that normal ?
@dakinelu my baby crawls same spider man crawl
Can you tell me when shen started walking , because she feels more comfort in crawling than walking and she is fast in crawling and does not get hurt while walking she gets hurt or she fell down so she is afraid.
Which crawling style does your bub use? Don't forget to get your free 0 - 12 months old developmental milestone chart here:

My bb is going 7months this 28 but she only know to roll not roll back yet... Is this normal? Thank u
My bub is 6.5 months and uses inchworm crawling technic
My baby is 6months plus and she does the army crawling....have learnt to expose her knees and feet from this video...thanks Emma 😊....
Thank you so much
You always post videos when I need them!
Glad this video was what you were looking for
Oh yes you do, thank youu
My baby started crawling backwards at 4months she just clocked 5 a few days ago and is beginning to turn round but has not been able to move forward. Thanks for clearing my worries.
I was told that when babies skip crawling they tend to have decreased F/GMC, bilateral integration, motor planing, and even cognitive issues. What do you think about that?
I wasn’t crawled but i m an athlete and accountant 😅
Its true… effects everything of life
My son walked first 😵💫
No that's not true.
I heard about a study where 75% of participants (who all had a learning disability / ADHD) didn’t crawl or crawled for a short period of time.
Am so relief ....thanks momma❤❤❤❤ my baby is 8 month + still army crawling
My older son was a bit delayed so I have no expectationnfor my typically developing daughter. She does the rolling and inch worm/low crawling. She's only 10 months, so I'm curious to see how her mobility continues to develop!
Thanks for this thorough and clear video!
My baby is using the step-crawl mix. It's the cutest! 🥰
Nice, my baby does the army comando crawl, tried to help him transition to the normal crawl but he seems to enjoy the army crawl
5.5 months and my little girl is at the inchworm/classic crawling stage right now. Also trying to pull up and balance on everything. Such a fun stage lol
@T.T such a fun age!
Hi Emma thanks for the video 🙂Can you also tell how to encourage a baby to crawl on the floor, who already does it on the bed?
What is a good way to address and correct the "Step-Scooting" crawl where one leg is dominantly up and stepping, while the other leg is down and dragging/scooting?
Thanks for your time
Hi my daughter is 13 month daughter of she was crawling normally but all of sudden she stayed dng step crawl mix is it normal some sites have suggested it may be autism
That is awesome!
Love your videos! Iv'e been a pediatric OT for 20 years now! Great content!
30 lb at 5 m is almost a Guinness world record.
@@zarowsky102over 30 😂
I was a cruiser as a bub. My first born is a cruiser too and my second born a scooter ✨
Thanks for the video. My son was was crawling with 1 leg , which you showed around 5 minutes stage of your video.
Please help!
.
Omg this definitely answers all my questions in mind. Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Hope step crawl mix is normal??..my baby does that ..
Loved your vedio..
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Hi. I have read so many things about army crawling as "atypical development". I wonder how true that it and what's ur thought on it? My baby is 11 months and been army crawling with occasional rocking on 4s. Thank you.
My little one isn't quite crawling but she moves forward like an inchworm but she uses more of her lower body. She's also almost 5 months next week.
Is step crawl mix normal? Anything to be concerned about? Pls advise
My baby crawls on one foot and one knee. 7 months old..how to get her to both knees?
Did you ever find out anything about this? This is exactly what my daughter does.
Hello Emma, have just seen this great video my baby was born prematurely and now 1 yr 1 month and not yet crawling
I really love your videos. Very educational and the examples are great 😊
Thank you! 😃
So that should hopefully be progress in the right direction
my baby is already 9 month and she's only in the first steps of crawling, but it's so cute!
continue making videos like these please !
I second that:)
That’s so nice!💕 glad they are helping.
Thanks so much 🙏
I know it’s something all babies do but honestly I’m in awe with my baby daughter’s progress! 😂
My baby’s 5.5 months and she does a weird combination of army and inch warm crawling whereby her tummy & legs stay almost completely in completely in contact with floor but she also bring the one knee slightly to the side of her body and use her legs to advance together with her arms (she looks kind of like she’s wiggling side to side when crawling).
Thanks a lot for sharing these❤️
Thank you so much for these videos!!!So much clarity now on many topics!! I will calk my son a mixer he has done most of those poses!!🥰🥰🥰
Glad it was helpful!
(Similar to cruising) but when im not in the room she uses the mixed cross crawl to find me
Super ma'am .can u please share a video how to resolve flat heads in baby of 6 months old
Will likely need to consult a doctor about plagiocephaly.
Hello, How to access milestones charts? Because I didn't get any email thankyou before 😊
My little one experiments with different forms of mobility:
Bum shuffle, roll, army crawl, and crusing.
Perfect video ❤
Glad you think so!
My baby is 5month and 2weeks and currently crawling backwards. Good to know is normal.
@west_21 Totally normal! Impressive to be crawling already. Now the mischief begins!
My darling is now a pro in back crawl 😇😇.. Now I am just waiting for the actual crawl
😂
Our second son crawled after he walked for the sake of playing with some toys. He did get around, he sat and he’d scoot backwards or he’d roll.
My daughter skipped crawling at 9-10 months (she’s 16 now)
My son is 7 months and I think he’s gonna do the bear crawl like I did when I was a baby but he doesn’t lift his head up and yells at the floor or bed wherever he is crawling.
Is there a trick or tips to help him learn to lift use his arms? Or will he eventually pick up on it as he gets stronger
My son crawl with both arms but only on one knee , the other leg is usually slightly bent and in the air
Thanks never knew this I’ll look into this
Hi @Irina Andrievschi here in Australia our babies tend to sit first then crawl and there are no difficulties/concerns
Is step crawling normal? My 3 yr old who has some issues started doing this but he's definitely getting stronger. He doesn't walk without support yet.
When they scoot, do they start going backwards too??
Thank you Emma for very informative videos. Love the content!
You're so welcome!
Thank you for this ❤️
My 4.5 month old just started pushing backwards accross the room and I had to check, because I dont remember my oldest doing that, but the older one didnt start crawling until almost 7 months.
Mine army crawls but uses knees loads too - what’s that called?
Your videos are one of the main reasons my daughter can role at the age of less than 4 months
But thanks from the Amsterdam
Also love your earrings 😃
Hi. Is it okay if baby only army crawls until even 10 months? He hates being in all 4s position. Another OT has said it could be pathological. Please reply
My baby is 9 months and has just started crawling. Hope there is nothing to worry about .. can you suggest if it’s normal
Always has super great info. Thank you
So nice of you
Thank you❤️
You’re welcome 😊
My 7 month old baby is still rollong across the room and is still beginning to army crawl she's still slow on it. Is she on track or should i be worried?
If she army crawling that great! I would make sure she has no socks on her feet that way she can start propelling her self forward. Babies will usually naturally move on to the step when their ready. A lot of people don’t realize that’s emu crawling is just has important at hand and knee crawling both are important for brain development.
My baby is six month old and has been rolling and rolling when ever she want to get something or closer to someone.....will she switch or it's normal to continue this way? Thanks for the video
