I think you should consult with your doctor first since online advice cannot be individualised. The fact they can't sit does seem a bit later than usual so it's always good to check for peace of mind! Depending on your country there's different services.
Hi emma, thanks for all your awesome videos. It help me a lot during my first baby journey. I like to ask you about crawl, does it effect baby sleep? It normal for baby to crawl when they still asleep. My baby look tired and have more sleep during noon.

My daughter is 13 months and is trying to walk with push walkers but still doesn't crawl. She will get into the 4 point position but then slides out. She uses her arms to turn and moves backwards on her belly. She also doesn't like being on the hardwood floor and just becomes upset even with toys or on a softer blanket. Hello. I can see your comment is 10 months old. When did your baby start crawling (if she did)? Our boy is 15 months already, just starts learning to stand up, but doesn't crawl
Thank you for the video. Instead of a floor, can we do these activities on a very firm bed instead? The mattress has almost no give when I, a 200lb adult move on it, let alone a baby.
my 8 month old baby crawls sideways army style and only uses his left side to move. he uses his right hand on other things but prefers his left. he used to prefer right hand when doing things and used to start crawling using both arms but dont know why he started using only his left side. i dont recall any injury, will have him looked at soon. how can i help him use both hands? i tried to help him but he would just roll on his back or get annoyed. hopefully he will start using both hands again. thanks emma, your other videos have been helpful to me. xx

If she is happy at every other time (just complaining when she is on her tummy) then it’s usually not something to worry about. But if you’re concerned raise it with your doctor.

Hi @Caitlynne Lucier is your daughter stiff when she is lying on the ground on her back as well? Or is it just when you are trying to get her into 4 point? If it's hard to move her arms or legs when she is relaxed lying on the ground on her back then I would recommend you take her the doctor who can review her muscle movements.
I wish I could find your channel earlier.... thanks for the tips... can you please make a separate video to help a baby to sit from lying down position...can you add some tips also
Hi @Blessy K thanks for the tip - I was thinking this would a be good video to do so glad to hear you would find it helpful. Basically there are two ways to help a baby go from sitting to lying down depending on what they can do. It is a bit complicated to explain without showing you ,so a video would be the better option. I will do this shortly.
Hi @shirley placing food in their mouth is difficult if they have not yet learnt how to drop/release items. It is also difficult if they are using a whole hand grip. So typically it is around 8/9 months that they can accurately place food in their mouth and drop it in their mouth. They are even better at it at 12 months when they are using their thumb and pointer finger to pick up food. How old is your little one?
@@EmmaHubbard hai again, thanks for Ur concerned reply. Mine is 7 months now. She kinda picks drops and even transfers her toys between her hands . But never does she take anythy near her mouth. Out there r so many mom's fighting it daily. It would be so helpful for us
I think it's harder for first borns and single babies to develop in a reasonable time because they don't have any older siblings to observe, mirror and then compete with crawling or walking. In short they're more motivated to keep up with their siblings.
My daughter has a first 6 month old and is exactly and even beyond stages bec we put a lot of consistent daily effort following all Emma's ideas plus Montessori
When you have pets your kids tend to want to go after them and I have a very determined daughter right now😅😅 she’s angry because she wants to go follow the animals. If she’s anything like her father she’ll be walking before she crawls💀💀
My baby can roll. But always rolls out of tummy time. She has pushed up with arms but won’t always do it and goes into her superman pose. How do I encourage to push up with arms?
Ever since my baby started rolling, he stopped trying to crawl, and would just roll wherever he wanted to go. When he was about 10 months old, he started trying again. He's almost 11 months now, and is army crawling, and is trying to crawl on his hands and knees.
@@jnsd3226 I'd give your baby a little more time, and if your baby still isn't crawling, maybe speak to a doctor about it. Every baby hits milestones at different paces. In the month since I posted this, my son now crawls on his knees proficiently, and is walking a bit.
Hi Emma can you please explain if it’s important for babies who learn how to first walk to get new and good quality/ supportive pair of shoes? Is Stride Rite a brand u would recommend? A mom told me it should never be secondhand as it could affect their gait and posture but wanted to double check with you!! Thanks again
@Pri USA from my understanding it is best for new walkers to not wear shoes - so be barefoot the majority of the time. If you do need a pair of shoes then what you are looking for are supportive shoes - so you don't want shoes that folds when you try to touch the top of the shoe to the back of the shoe. You also don't want a shoe where you can squeeze the sides of the heel together. I don't think it would be an issue buying second hand shoes - in fact physiotherapist that iI have worked with gave clients second hand shoes to use. Sorry if that is confusing.
Thank you for your videos. They've been super helpfull! My baby is 5 months old and he's recently learnt to do a slow army crawl to get around. He rolls onto his tummy, pushes himself up on his hands and then pulls himself forwards with his arms. I know it's still a bit early for him to start doing a proper crawl, but is this a regular first step for babies to get around? I noticed you didn't mention army crawling.

Thank you, I’ll start practicing with my baby
Thank you for your video Emma !
Just wanted to ask - I don’t put my child in a sitting position unless he will learn himself how to do it . What is the benefits to seat child ? I can see a lot of people placing kids in this position early and they just stop moving and trying. I feel it is too much load on their unprepared spines .
Which tip are you going to use? Don't forget to get your free 0 - 12 months old developmental milestone chart here:

Does this work for premie babies? My baby is preemie and he is 10 months now and not crawling. Does this apply?
My boy constantly hold his hand in his middle, sometimes holding his hands togetger- he doesn't have the urge to put put his arms... I don't know what to do about this
My 7 month old daughter has no issue reaching to grab stuff while in the sitting position but when in belly time she does not as much due to the fact that she wants to roll back onto her back. She doesn't like for some reason to be on her belly that much. Forgot to mentioned that she is teething just bringing it up because i don't know if by chance that might affect anything when it comes to belly time/ crawling

My daughter is 7 months and I tried something different today by doing all the things this lady said to do and when I tell u that my daughter is getting there she is getting there! 😂 she will be crawling soon
I'm so glad I found your channel, literally every video is exactly what I'm looking for!
Hi @Rachel Lamb glad to have you here and your finding the content helpful. Hoping parenting is a little easier knowing this information.
so am i.
Such helpful videos, thank you! Do you have any tips on how to help my baby transition from army crawling to four-point crawling?
Yesss please I'm in the same boat
Me too!
This was really helpful for me! Great vid for my 5 month old who is on the brink of the 4 point position now 😊 cheers!! 👍👍👍
Glad it was helpful!
This is exciting :) I am looking forward to seeing my LO progress to crawling. I feel like every stage is just so exciting and amazing.
Hi @td mr I agree - all the stages in the first year of a baby's life is very exciting. I love seeing their little faces when they learn a new skill!
My baby is seven months and she’s on her hands and knees, and she just started raising her hands. I think she’s going to be moving forward soon!
That’s so exciting.
Hi, I'm a First time mom. And I really love all your parenting tips. My baby is 10 months old but he can't sit on his own or even crawling. He hates tummy time. Is it possible or there's something wrong with my baby. I am really worried. Hope you can reply on my comment. Thanks🥰
I think you should consult with your doctor first since online advice cannot be individualised. The fact they can't sit does seem a bit later than usual so it's always good to check for peace of mind! Depending on your country there's different services.
Same issue here! My daughter yells when I put her on her belly
What ended up happening?
How is your child doing and at what month have they started sit and crawl...kindly reply
Hi emma, thanks for all your awesome videos. It help me a lot during my first baby journey. I like to ask you about crawl, does it effect baby sleep? It normal for baby to crawl when they still asleep. My baby look tired and have more sleep during noon.
This is so helpful my son is 9 months old and is not used to being on all fours and I had no clue how to get him on all 4s
Glad I could help!
I am in the same boat. My son is 9mo and he doesn’t crawl or want to sit up. But he rolls around everywhere lol
Hi Emma, my baby daughter is 9 mo old and does not like being on all four and cries and rolls over. Please suggest what I should do. She is able to get into and out of sitting. I am getting a bit worried.
My baby will be 9 months I a week and not crawling and im so worried 😢. I will try these things and I hope it works❤
For me the best baby information, really conscious ans well explained thanks for all the knowledge that you share
You are a wealth of information!! Thank you from the U.S.
So nice of you
Thank you for this amazing video ❤ My 7months old sits beautifully on her own but only if I put her in that position. Someone told me that she will not crawl and will bum shuffle :/ How can I avoid it? Will trying to teach her transition from lying down to sitting help? She always hated tummy time so she loves sitting
Same here
Amazing video thank you so much. Put my son over my leg and he instantly started to push up with his legs and arms reaching out
Wonderful!
Any advice or should we just focus on walking?
Hello. I can see your comment is 10 months old. When did your baby start crawling (if she did)? Our boy is 15 months already, just starts learning to stand up, but doesn't crawl
You are an absolute god-send 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🤩🤩🤩💗💗💗 thank you!!!
You’re welcome! So glad it was helpful 🙂
Please talk about feeding bottle aversion and how to solve it..
Thank you for the video my baby you know how to cross soon
Thank you for the video. Instead of a floor, can we do these activities on a very firm bed instead? The mattress has almost no give when I, a 200lb adult move on it, let alone a baby.
my 8 month old baby crawls sideways army style and only uses his left side to move. he uses his right hand on other things but prefers his left. he used to prefer right hand when doing things and used to start crawling using both arms but dont know why he started using only his left side. i dont recall any injury, will have him looked at soon. how can i help him use both hands? i tried to help him but he would just roll on his back or get annoyed. hopefully he will start using both hands again. thanks emma, your other videos have been helpful to me. xx
My baby won’t stay on her belly for more than 5-10 seconds before rolling to her back…I will keep putting her on her belly but she will just roll over again and again.. help!
My baby did this too and I just gave up! 😂 He is now 7 months and rolls both directions easily to move around. I think he just finally found the motivation to not just stay on his back! Don't stress, all babies figure things out when given enough love and freedom to explore 😁
@@aliesefitch1099 same here!
My baby was like this! But now I put him on his back and he rolls to his belly…so I let him stay there for a while because now he struggles to move back onto his back😅 just wait till they’re rolling the other way and keep doing what you’re doing 👍🏻
@@celine-jayne7423 that’s so funny you say this because just yesterday she starting rolling from back to belly!!! So I’m praying this is the start of something 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Same here. My baby hates being on her tummy. I actually thought something is wrong
Thanks a lot I’ll start doing it today my boy is 6 months old
No worries at all. Have fun!!!
Thanks for the video. My daughter is 6 months, and she hates going on her stomach. She starts crying and I’m not sure if that is something I need to be concerned with or just be patient with her?
If she is happy at every other time (just complaining when she is on her tummy) then it’s usually not something to worry about. But if you’re concerned raise it with your doctor.
My baby can get to 4 point position for 2 months now. Been rocking back and forth. Moves a leg forward but won’t move a hand forward. He lets both hands go and slides his face along the ground using his legs to go forward. How do you help use his arms?
Dear Emma. Love your videos. I rarely comment on videos but your videos are very informative. Thanks 😊 keep them coming
Glad you like them!
Would you please talk about baby carriers? 🙏 ☺️ Thank You for all the information ☺️☺️☺️
Hi @Isis thanks for the topic tip. Will try and make one soon.
My 7 month baby keeps crawling backwards but on carpet. How do I help her move forward instead?
Cant wait for my little girl to crawl shes 5months now and she seems like she wants to i just need to figure out the steps it takes to help her succeed. First time parent and this is the best thing ever
Thanks Ema for your help and dedication..
My pleasure!
Thank you so much for sharing, my baby is 5 months she reaches out on all objects in all directions as she turns using her tummy, then rolling on the tummy and back .... Is it a sign that she's about to crawl?
My baby is 8 months old and absolutely despises tummy time she would scream and go hysterical and cannot hold herself up
Same here.. hence my baby is behind with all milestones. How’s your baby now?
Haha our daughter was the same way, she just turned 8 months but seems a lot more comfortable with tummy time. She’s not crawling yet. Just give him/ her time and they’ll be more comfortable with it
@@alisaklimanska7480my baby is so advanced now I was worried as I’m a first time mum but now my baby is amazing she’s so smart and talks a lot and is walking running climbing everything
My daughter is 13 months old she hates tummy time in early months still she can’t do crawl
I requested the milestone pdf yesterday and I still have yet to receive it. I checked my spam as well and still haven’t received anything! I don’t know if your system is down but I’ve seen other comments having the same issue. Really love your videos and advice!
Hi @Ammie F I am sorry you haven't received the PDF. Can you please email me at emma@emmahubbard.com and I will email you the PDF directly. As I don't know your email I couldn't find out if there was an error on my side as it says that the PDF's are going to the emails. Sorry again
@@EmmaHubbard hi can i also get milestone pdf emailed to me please?
Hi Emma, I am a mom to a 9 month-old and your videos been my go to for all things baby. I am struggling with my baby stuck in the crawl position but doesn't really move and gets tired and lies on the tummy asking for help to get back up. She rocks back and forth but that's it. Any suggestions on how to get her moving, it's been like this for a month now...
my baby too! she is 9 months and she lays on her tummy and moves legs and arms and thats it. nothing else. She rolls over from tummy to back but not from back to tummy. She is very resistant to learn.
@@mariasaenz9912 How did things turn out? Our son is almost 7 months old and behaves similarly. While we still have a few months, he seems resistant to wanting to learn and just ends up getting upset during a tummy time after only a 5 to 10 minutes.
Hi @@mariasaenz9912 my 8months daughter is quite similar to yours... Would love to hear about the progress of your child
Love your videos. They are very educational and you explain things well.
Thanks so much! So glad you like them too!
Hello, our baby is almost 10 months (11th of august) and he's gets better everyday at that 4 point position and he even moves his knees forward but he has trouble moving his hands forward so he gets frustrated because he cant reach for his toy in his tempo. My partner keeps telling me i don't have to worry but i do worry a bit because he is almost 10 months and can't crawl.
Kind regards
Stanley
Thank you
Thanks Emma this video will help me lot ..my daughter is 7 month old still doesn't know how to bring up the butt hehe but she love to do a tummy time and shaking like cobra hehe
My 8 month old can roll over, sit, stand with support. She has tummy time every day and can push up from her arms but cries (not in pain) every time I try to help her onto her knees or put her on my thigh for support. She refuses to put her knees on the floor. Please could you give me any tips or support on how to help her ?
Same problem with our almost 10 mo old!
My baby girl is 4month... thanx fr th vid..
No worries!
Thank You, Happy New Year
Same to you!
Very useful video..
My daughter is super stiff. She won’t get into the 4 point position. We’ve tried everything. She’s 11 months old and won’t budge. :(
Hi @Caitlynne Lucier is your daughter stiff when she is lying on the ground on her back as well? Or is it just when you are trying to get her into 4 point? If it's hard to move her arms or legs when she is relaxed lying on the ground on her back then I would recommend you take her the doctor who can review her muscle movements.
Thank you so much for this video my baby is 5 month
You are so welcome!
@@EmmaHubbard sure....thank you
@@EmmaHubbard Hi ...I requested milestone pdf many times but I didn't get it yet in my mail
Thanks a lot Emma, would u please make a video on how to train babies put stuffs especially food in their mouth on their own. Cos mine never does it
Hi @shirley placing food in their mouth is difficult if they have not yet learnt how to drop/release items.
She's also having this feeding bottle aversion. It's so stressful to handle her feeding aversion. Please help me out with how to resolve feeding bottle aversion as well. Out there r so many mom's fighting it daily. It would be so helpful for us
Pls make video on therapy of downsyndrome babies
Such useful tips. Thank you so much for this video
Very informative, I I'll strt today, I have twins, one is crawling other one is not.i I'll try it 👍thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks
How long is sufficient for tummy time a day?
I think it's harder for first borns and single babies to develop in a reasonable time because they don't have any older siblings to observe, mirror and then compete with crawling or walking. In short they're more motivated to keep up with their siblings.
My nephew was the firstborn in my sister's little family and he was way ahead in developmental milestones compared to my firstborn 😊
I talked and walked earlier than all of my siblings
I haven’t had that issue with my firstborn, maybe it’s the neuropro enfamil. Kids going places.
Very helpful thanks
Love your accent
Very useful. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
My baby is not sitting yet, but she is almost crawling 😂
My baby can roll. But always rolls out of tummy time.
She has pushed up with arms but won’t always do it and goes into her superman pose.
How do I encourage to push up with arms?
Ever since my baby started rolling, he stopped trying to crawl, and would just roll wherever he wanted to go. When he was about 10 months old, he started trying again. He's almost 11 months now, and is army crawling, and is trying to crawl on his hands and knees.
Same here. My 10 month old baby didn’t even want to try any crawling position. I am worried about it.
@@jnsd3226 I'd give your baby a little more time, and if your baby still isn't crawling, maybe speak to a doctor about it. Every baby hits milestones at different paces. In the month since I posted this, my son now crawls on his knees proficiently, and is walking a bit.
My oldest never crawled! He rolled everywhere and then pulled himself up. Then started walking!
@@rainbowdragon9497 my little guy is 9 months and just rolls around too. I’m worried but your comment helped
what about your baby , did he crawl finaly?
My son just stays in the 4 point position and moves his arms but doesn’t seem to know how to move his legs
My baby is 7.5 months old, she cant sit up independently but is getting on her hands and knees, rocking back and forth.
My baby boy is at that stage right now 😁.
Thank you very much for all the tips ❤
No problem 😊
Another awesome video Emma. Thanks for posting as it is perfect timing for my little one.
Thanks @meghan Cooley
My baby is 6 months and HATES tummy time. I try to do it as much as possible but she despises it haha
Mam please upload videos about baby pelvic muscles strengthen activities ,my baby 12 month old can't stand only sitting not long time
Thank you for your videos.
My baby is doing the same thing he gets really frustrated too because his face is touching the floor lol. He’s 5 months turning 6 months on the 18th.
Thanks , i’ll try because my seven months old baby can’t crawl yet. I think it’s my fault.
Great video thank you!!
You are so welcome!
