You don't need all that fuel if you have full astrodynamics perks (or have Sarah in your crew) and an outpost that produces He3. I use 2 Titan 160's for my large ships and I can jump from east to west extremes.
i'm proudly honored to be the owner of the Basilisk II from the Wizard Engineering Factory. This spaceship is the perfect product, you can find prettier in the market of course, but nothing is more functional than this one. The propulsion and engine part, superbly highlighted by the porthole, admirably serves the technical space which itself provides the two wings with the necessary energy (light, hot water, etc.) and perfectly supplies the front of the ship which is the combat, computer and tactical zone, piloting, as well as my personal space. I made a special request to the consumer service to personalize it a little more according to my needs. For example, at entry, I exchanged the workshop for brigs, because my new duties as a bounty hunter require me to transport dangerous people. Directly following, I asked to add the medical service. Indeed my team does not need armory, they do nothing else all day than check the shelves, sleep, eat and say hello, they do not need to fight, it is me who fights, and sometimes hard, that's why i found it more appropriate to have the infirmary directly on the ground floor! Because sometimes when returning from a mission I need urgent care and with a broken leg it is painful to have to climb the ladders and cross the entire ship to be healed. The medical part present in the basic model has therefore been replaced by a berth part, which balances my two wings. I also put my captain's space directly next to the cockpit, I am the one who pilots and sometimes I need a quick rest before taking the controls again. I have my workshop next to my personal space because sometimes at night I have creative ideas and I build things, and then I store it in my armory just above. This spaceship is the perfect balance between beauty, modernism and efficiency, I recommend it. 😘
I built your original and really loved it. Stopped playing after about 500 hours. Came back last week, went from NG+7 (almost done) to NG+10 (back-to-back alternate starts which are super quick) and I saw you updated this outstanding ship.
@High_Key I agree, especially based on the specific ship you’re flying. Something heavier that takes time to change direction needs to have that reach to try to play sniper, but for something light and quick the Hellfires add a level of challenge and tactics that you don’t have with the brainlessness of all PB’s.
I love this ship I build this on every play through it just flows so nice. Every other ship I get lost in with to many ladders that lead no where. Thank you
New Captain here..been soaring the stars for only 3 weeks, now. Been learning lots from YT Captains.... Looking forward to viewing your previous builds, and adventures among the stars, Captain.
You mad lad, you actually did it! - I love that you totally rejigged the interior. It's a very worthy upgrade. What you said about the engine layout is what attracted me to the Basilisk in the first place. It was, and remains a very beautiful design. Congrats on 5K!
I had to! I’ve wanted to build the ship again so bad since starting this playthrough, but I made myself wait for the right opportunity. 5k seemed like a perfect reason. Appreciate you!
I found the core window idea when I built the Citadel. I wasn’t the first to find that idea I’m sure, but that’s where I discovered it anyway. It’s such a cool feature, and I made it a requirement to implement it when I set out to overhaul the Basilisk. Thanks for watching!
I’ve built the Scythe and the Aetos II and you are by far one of the best content creators for Starfield and ship builds. Super easy to follow guides with a bit of humour in there as well. Keep up the great work Sir. Big fan from England 👍🏻
Very kind words, thank you sir! I have a feeling you will like the upcoming Omen if you’ve chosen those two from the archive already. It has been my preferred ship since I built it, as well as being the 10th ship in my original universe. Thanks for watching!
Great build and video! For those complaining about ladders, you can glitch portholes over the attachment points that you want to prevent a ladder from spawning.
Much appreciated! I have a hunch that those having issues with ladders are skipping key points/steps. These guides are never based on my first iteration of a ship, meaning I do what I can to make sure I can replicate the interior layout reliably.
A massive improvement, it keeps its awesome look, but the insides are divine. I'm going to make this as my main ship from now on. it looks so good, thank you for sharing this build.
You deserve all the subs. Your builds are absolutely outstanding. I look forward to seeing your videos and building your creations. Thank you for your contribution.
Thank you very much for the kind words! I’m going to continue with Becoming a God, and I still need to complete the automated Vytinium Fuel Rod operation. I also have two empty slots in my fleet that I need to fill before I can even think about NG+. Plenty to come!
I love this ship! I have been building ships since early access and never built one I saw on TH-cam before this one. I armed and customized mine a little different, but mostly the same. This one caught my eye and its amazing in combat! Most of my builds were original or upgrades to existing models (Revelation, Claymore, etc.). Now i need more ship slots as 10 just isn't enough! THANKS! P.S. I named mine Basilisk X
That’s great to hear man! Glad that I could inspire a fellow builder and I’m even more stoked that you enjoy the ship so much. Thanks for watching! I need more ship slots too, thankfully I’m on PC and can download that mod when it feels like the right time. Right now, I’m going to use my full fleet as one reason to enter the Unity.
Fuckin awesome man, I have my ninth ship built and just need to film it now, then I have one more open slot to fill once I get these three videos edited. Hopefully this upcoming ship will compel you to move to NG+ to keep building!
@pdexBigTeacher not a bad idea! I’m already on my second character and I don’t want to go back and work through everything again. I’ll just make a save in my original universe if I ever need to go back.
I built the original Basilisk using the Mantis ship, and I’ll use it again for this new version in my new play through. Bro thanks for showing the overall cost at the beginning 👍
Just finished building a version of the Basilisk II, some differences with structural bits and a couple extry flip/duplication glitches on it. GREAT build design and wonderful build video. Well done Wizard! 👍🏼
Thanks for this build video. Following along in the ship build was a little tedious as you chat about other stuff while building and placing pieces but i managed to pause the video to see exactly what items you were picking and from what tabs so that i was still able to get the same setup. I chose to take off the 175 auto turrets in favor of nullifiers which i enjoy using so i can raid the loot off higher level ship crews. I love how easy the ship is to navigate and having so much space it has which cuts down on getting trapped in hallways or door ways with other crew. Overall this is a fantastic ship which i throughly enjoy using.
I’ll keep this feedback in mind for the next one. In my mind, I’m thinking I’m boring everyone to death by just repeating the same things you can read on screen. But, this is good input that tells me I haven’t found the right balance yet. Glad you like the ship! One thing I’d like to make you aware of (if you weren’t already) is that the PBO-175’s are the last weapons you’d want to replace. They have the highest DPS for any particle beam, with the Vanguard Obliterators coming in a close second. If anything, I’d replace the Exterminators. I actually have turned to using Vanguard Hellfire cannons in place of the Exterminators, and it’s made combat SO much fun. Thanks for watching!
I love the layout on this version. I am building this tomorrow to fill ship slot 10. That means you are responsible for 6 of those. Keep up the great work you do as I always light up when I get a notification that your channel has an update. Love your content.
Awesome! I’ve got two new ones coming up as well as those I’ve already posted. Have a look at the Archive, there may be something else that catches your eye!
Wow… best ship build vids on TH-cam! Wizard is wise! The Basilisk is still my favorite. Followed by the citadel then Helion. Thanks Wizard! Congrats on 5k!
Congrats on 5k! That's awesome and well deserved. I stumbled on your channel only recently, but you've quickly become one of my favorite Starfield channels. 👍👍
100% of my ships are your builds. This is my next one. I love it, and I LOOOOVE the Scythe. I have no idea how you come up with these. GREAT $&@*ing WORK!!!
Damn man that’s awesome! They start with a small idea or the intent to use a specific part, like engine or bridge. Honestly I can’t wait for more parts to use because I seem to be running out of original ideas. I’m either gonna have to build other creators ships and/or just dive into mods. I have two new ones coming soon, the Vulcan and the Omen, thanks for staying tuned!
Love the vid. My favourate ship to start with on this build is the Razorleaf. Watching those Spacers/Pirates 💩 their pants and run brings tears of joy to my eyes 😂🥲
It is a great Razorleaf replacement, I totally agree. The original Basilisk was built for that purpose as well, but that was a previous character. For my latest playthrough I wanted to complete a more literal re-design of the Razorleaf, and I came up with the Scythe. For my vanilla builds, that ship is the highest performance that I’ve achieved, and it fits on a small landing pad.
I've built this craft about half dozen times now, I think it's still the best ship out there, it's just a beast! I did evolve few things with the design: The battle station and computer core I thought work better as Nova habs, externally they join to the back of the bridge better I think. I used a Hopetech bay that has a ladder straight up to the battle station, access to the lower floor is via the rear of the engineering bay. Between the wings and main fuselage I removed the bumpers and put forward facing windows on the 2x2 living habs. I had to add a hopetech spine connector on the upper floor behind bridge because of ladder issue, but the only actual ladder I have is at the back of engineering down to workshop. Great work on all your ship builds! PS, congrats on the 5k subs!
You’re welcome! It is massively gratifying for me to help and inspire. I hope you’ll be sticking around for more, I’ve got two upcoming builds that I think everyone will love. I teased them on my instagram, if you want to get a peek…
It’s still one of my favorites as well. Never had much time with it the first playthrough, so it was as much a reward for myself as it was a celebration for my viewers. Thanks for watching!
First time viewer, this video popped up on my recommended and within the first section of you going through the different levels/ship was incredible layout and organization of information and I immediately subscribed. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much! Very happy that you enjoyed the video and I hope you’ll watch more! Currently in the later phases of production for my Kronos build guide. Should be published this weekend.
Thanks a bunch man, I never anticipated this to grow as quickly as you guys have allowed it to. I feel like I’m lagging behind on the channel’s look and features! So many creators out there have put so much work into their channels and it really shows.
Now I have to build this. Must. Build. This. I have been in my Basilisk ever since you first put it out. Nothing else will do once you have one. This looks even better! Congratulations and many, many thanks! 😊👍
I love the ship design. I love the video. Uncut build and an how to get ervery thing. I am at lvl 14 xD but as soon i am lvled up i will build this. SUBSCRIBED !!!! Road to 10k
I recommend that you go to my playlists, find my Vanilla Starship Archive, and start your building journey with the Peregrine. It’s a level 14 ship build, and each subsequent build increases in level requirement at certain module unlock thresholds. Once you have the Peregrine, use that ship until you have the Star Eagle, and from that you can build the Aetos, then Aetos II, then Citadel, and so on.
I like it, Wizard. I built your original Basilisk, and I'll be building this version on my next playthrough. You're right about the brig module - the RP value is great, but being non-functional just kinda ruins it. Loving that you included the armillary window!
There are mods that make the brigs functional, but consoles still don’t have mod support. If Bethesda doesn’t add the function before mods on console I will be installing that one lickety-split. Thanks for watching!
I'd like to start off by saying this is an extraordinary build. Did everything but weapons last night. For those of you deciding to build this, you will have to pause every now and then to see what is actually being selected because its not always in alignment with the audio. But with a little patience its quite easy to put together. I know the brig doesn't offer any real value, but I couldn't call myself a "Bounty Hunter" without one, cheers #subbed
Thank you very much! I try to squeeze in some of the reasoning behind module choice and placement as I build, and it leads to some voiceover overlap. I’m making lots of mistakes still and learning along the way. Eventually I’ll be experienced enough with the editing and voiceover that I’ll be able to compensate for the time required to explain something without letting the footage outpace me. Your feedback has given me some ideas to solve this problem. Thank you for watching and providing me with valuable viewer insight!
@@WizeOldWizard Please turn off the function that prevents editing a comment. I had to delete mine and post again. [if this edit in brackets posts now, it means it's fixed]
@johnspartan98 I have not seen that as an option anywhere. In fact, as far as comments go, I have them set to be completely unrestricted. Are you familiar with where that setting is located?
@johnspartan98 well I checked my settings. Although I had comment moderation set to ‘None’ when I uploaded, it had somehow changed to ‘Basic’. I don’t know if that was preventing editing but that is the only setting that I have relating to comments. Maybe check to see if you have the option now, it would be valuable for me to know if that’s how it works or not. Thanks.
@@WizeOldWizard Whatever you did, it is now fixed. I did a test edit to my comment above. Placed the edit in backets. A lot of ship builders seem to be unaware that some of the class C engines can be duplicated into each other to form a taller engine while taking up less height and retaining the stats of the two engines. I do this all all the time when building ships with the SAL 6330's and the 6830's. The two engine stack fits into 3 snap points instead of needing 4 snap points one above the other. I place the bottom engine first, then use the duplicate function and the top engine interlocks into the bottom. If you haven't done so already, could you make a video showing this interlocking stacking method?
Been using this ship as my main for a while now totally redid the habs though with the new interior customisation. My only problem with the design is the neck part around the cockpit is awkwardly flat imo, I wish starfield had smaller structural pieces for detail and a higher peice count, but that's nothing mods can't fix eventually. Honestly such a great build would never have thought about a window to the grav drive and I love how great it looks from behind the shape is amazing!
I agree, it is impossible to make a smooth transition from the bridge with the current selection of parts. It’s one of those ‘is what it is’ kind of things. I think that the change from Stroud habs to Deimos habs connecting to the lower hatch creates a better transition, but I don’t really see how to make that any better. Who doesn’t love a good backside? Cheers man, thanks for the feedback!
Thank you sir! Huge milestone for me, a revisit and overhaul of the Basilisk seemed like a great way to give back considering it seems to be everyone’s favorite. I love it as a Razorleaf replacement, but for this one I wanted to show the build from scratch so everyone can choose which ship to build over and still be able to follow along with the steps. I also think that for RP, and based on the lore, the Scythe makes much more sense for a Razorleaf build. The Basilisk is WAY too big to fit in the Mantis Lair’s underground hangar pad. Not that you would be able to ever use it again but, IF you could, the Scythe would still fit. Cheers man, thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard I hear you regarding the Scythe. It would be cool if the Lair of the Mantis could be used as a player base of operations, but you'd need building capability there or a ship tech at the very least. Wasted opportunity, if you ask me. Fallout 4 had The Shroud with tons of available content, but Starfield is a measly space battle interaction that's the same every single time. You can literally dress as The Mantis and run around in The Key, and no one cares. Dumbfounding.
@mjohnson64064 I agree, like how could they miss those kind of things? Did they just disregard things like that or literally not think of them. Lots of deserved criticism, but the whole game isn’t trash like some would lead people to believe.
@@WizeOldWizard Agreed. I heard a lot of bad things about the game before I started playing, but I prefer to make up my own mind. I got the Xbox for Christmas, so I've only been playing for about two and a half months. I'm hooked!
The absolute killer machine!! Wha a nice work you did! Appreciate it! I build it exactly the way you described and i'm really surprised on the flight and fight abilities. Also the interior of the ship is really clear. I love it and will build it again and again in every upcoming ng+ 😅 Thanks for sharing this with us!
Thank you very much for your kind words, and for building this ship! If you like this one you may also appreciate my other builds, and I’ve got a new one that will be coming soon as well.
@GabiGirlization I agree, it’s a great game that does deserve some criticism but it gets over-hated. It will turn around just like so many previous BGS titles.
I'll just say it again... great build (redesign) of my fav ship, Aegis is a close second. Can't wait to see what's in the future with the expansion coming. The only bad thing is when I do a NG+ I lose all those beauties, oh well that's what the vyntium and tasine farms are for.
I concur, it will suck to have to build out a fleet from scratch again, but credits aren’t hard to come by. The biggest hindrance is the damn vendor limit which, by the way, apparently increases with each NG+.
Thank you dude! You’re one of the reasons that I’m here now, and why I’m going to keep pushing out content. As far as irl celebration, I need a new beer fridge in the garage so I might do that today hahahah.
@WizeOldWizard Dude I'm not sure how you did it bur you easily have one of the least toxic/most positive comment sections I've ever seen. Mad props to you for cultivating such a healthy (from what I've seen anyway) community. Hope you got that beer fridge 💪
@graysenm1320 I have no clue either but I am super thankful it is growing in that way. I do get the odd “too bad the game doesn’t have actual space travel, ships are pointless, the game is trash” comments but they have been real rare. DUDE! They were closed on Sunday so I gotta wait until this coming Saturday to go back hahaha damnit.
@WizeOldWizard Yeah man the hate for this game is crazy. I have my fair share of critiques for Starfield but it's still a great game to me. Hahaha the Sunday rule is such trash! It recently changed in my state to where you can buy alcohol after 12pm on Sunday but not before 😮💨
@graysenm1320 liquor stores here are open on Sundays, it’s the appliance store that I prefer to purchase from that was closed. A mistake on my part to not check until Sunday, but now I know!
Oh man you’ll enjoy the Citadel too, one of my favorite ships to fly in first-person. Fantastic visibility. Just a word of warning though, the original build was based on module availability at level 49. You can and should choose level 60 upgrades for the reactor and weapons.
@shanehall8447 use whatever you want, though if you want to reduce the build cost, use the biggest and highest-tier ship that you have available. Or just go and purchase the cheapest ship you can find. It seems there are still some bugs associated with captured ships, so if you go that route just be aware of that.
Hello, a few days ago I ran across one of your videos and I just want to say that I enjoy what I saw in your content and delivery of it. Keep up the good work!
I'll never get rid of my original basilsk. It's the first ship I built, and you showed me how to do it. I'll definitely build this one, too. If people use mods, I'd strongly recommend ship pieces unlocked and darkstar astrodynamics. It allows you to use all pieces (even quest locked) from your outpost ship builder. Darkstar also has "experimental" versions of the same parts that give extra benefits. I have every system maxxed out with three weapons systems. I can fully power them all and all other systems, with some left over. I appreciate your videos brother. I was totally confused and burnt out trying to build ships until I started watching your videos. I get to enjoy it now. Bravo sir!
Happy to help brother! If you’re curious about the mods that I’m starting to use, check out the Krakatoa, and I also featured the Bad Omen in my Ship Combat Basic Training guide. DarkStar is for sure one of them, and I will be using others in the near future as I get into ground-up modded builds.
you are definitly right, i'll never get rid of this beauty, my first crafted ship and still the best feeling to drive by. By the time, I made several modification on it to fit my desirer (darkstar and so on), so, by respect for the creator, i've change its name, by giving it a Street Fighter game like title, so now i'm the owner of "The Super Basilisk 2 Alpha" 😁
I really want to build this ship but it's jumping all over the place. I can't tell what you've taken off or moved or what. Nothing is lining up. I'm not trying to be rude, it could just be me but I'm having a hard time following. It seems like there is a piece missing from the time you got to Tayo to the time you're putting the engines on.
You’re saying the video is jumping around or doors/ladders are jumping around? I’ve had few, if any, report a difficulty in following the guide, and I sure don’t think I skipped anything but if you can give me a timestamp or a bit more detail as to what you think you’re missing, I’d be able to help you more effectively.
@@WizeOldWizard right at the beginning after you reached Tayo. It seemed like things were already moved when you started putting the engines on. I could very easily be missing something.
Love the new hab layout! I'm debating whether to modify my current Basilisk or wait to make changes on my next NG+ run (I'm about 75% complete on my current run). Love the content and love the shout outs to other content creators!
Thank you! Considering the brigs are useless without mods, I thought it made more sense to make it feel a bit more inviting and comfortable on the inside. If you’ve already got one in your original universe, save Basilisk II for NG+!
Another excellent build! I gotta say, your videos help make stuff like harvesting High-Tensile Spidiron on Linneus II a lot less tedious, let me tell you! I also like to have a ladder well in my ships, even with the Cabot bridge for similar reasons. One difference in our design philosophy for how we handle ladders probably comes down to the fact I have exensive experience with naval architecture (I served for 6 years, nearly all of it shipboard duty & I qualified for advanced damage control & fire fighting even though my primary job was missile fire control), so I design it so that ladders are always isolated to 1x1 habs, creating what we (former) sailors call an access trunk. This allows every compartment (hab module) to be sealed off in the event of a hypothetical hull breach (with the access trunk acting as its own tall, skinny compartment), much like modern warships are sectioned off into watertight compartments to contain flooding. Of course, I do realize that the game doesn't have hull breach mechanics or anything like that (although I wouldn't put it past enterprising modders to add such a mechanism), but I feel it adds a bit of realism, even if it does make me have to compromise on hab module placement at times. I do kinda wish that you could sound the general quarters alarm & have your crew set material condition zebra throughout the ship (close all the doors) on the way to their assigned crew stations, but that would probably be expecting too much from a Bethesda game, lol!
Thank you very much! Man, can you imagine that level of gameplay detail? That would be insane! I’m hopeful that with the continued development of the game that Bethesda will be adding some impressive mechanics, and one the CK is out, modders will be doing the same. So much potential! I also appreciate the knowledge you offered up about real-life ship architecture and procedures. Really interesting stuff!
@@WizeOldWizard TBH, the hypothetical mod I am most looking forward to would basically be a Starfield port for the OCDecorator mod from Fallout 4: Being able to place loose items as static decorations without having to only use display shelves would be a huge boon for both ship & outpost building. Not to mention I could finally not have random junk scattered all over the floor of my ship due to crew members knocking loose objects about (it also bothers me from my Navy experience: We call loose stuff like that "gear adrift" and NOT having that sort of stuff secured before setting sail would earn you a good ass chewing from your chief or division officer, at the very least!) I also greatly appreciate you taking time to reply to my comments.
@DJ_Bonebraker hm, I’m curious if you’re aware of the fact that when you drop a misc item, you can then use the builder to pick it ip as an item and place it wherever you want, manually. Using this method also makes that item static, meaning it can’t be knocked around by other objects or NPC’s. Miss O Plays has some great interior decorating content that you may find helpful. As for responding to you, I try to make it a point to respond to everyone. I care about my viewer’s experience and if I wasn’t responsive, I think people would get mixed feelings about my motivation for doing this. It’s because of folks like you enabling my channel to grow. The videos themselves can’t answer every question and in some cases may create more questions for some.
@@WizeOldWizard I remember trying that once, but it didn't work for some reason... I will give it a try again (maybe they fixed it recently?) & see if it works. Be nice if it would work with the random containers of explodey stuff in the engineering bay, because you'd THINK that if you were going to secure anything, it would be THAT! Finally will give me a way to place all those potted plants I've looted that can't be displayed on the normal display shelves...
@DJ_Bonebraker I know for a fact it works in outposts, but I don’t know about ship interiors. I have not touched the new interior mechanics yet. Too much editing to do first.
I haven't played in quite a while, because I have acchieved everything I wanted in the game as it currently is. But I loved fyling the Basilisk, and the first DLC is apparently coming soon-ish, so I might hop in game and rework the ship to a Basilisk II, so that I'm ready when the update with new content arrives.
I made some changes to the Aegis and turned it into a class C then I also made some cosmetic changes to the ship I will also build this one and try it out Glad to see your subscribers growing also glad to see you are still putting out Starfield content
Late to the post, but congrats on your 5k subs man. I have enjoyed your content since discovering the original Basilisk vid. Keep em going. Looking forward to the future and whatever game you decide to add next.
Thanks man! It’s a huge milestone for me, something I never thought I would experience. I am considering other games for sure, maybe not in the immediate future but at some point I do want to expand my coverage into other titles. Red Dead? Armored Core? Forza Horizon? Star Citizen? GTA VI is of course on the list but that’s a ways out still…
Thank you very much man! I may have what it takes but NASA still can’t make starships that can do this! Seriously though, you helped me get to that 5k, and I intend to return the favor when I feature one of your builds. Thank you for all the support you’ve given me!
@@WizeOldWizard dude your knowledge of ship parts, the way you explain how to build, and the jokes with vendors. You have the talent to do so much with this game! Thank you for the kind words! I now have over 2500 hours in the game and I cannot put it down! And then seeing what you do. Shit it makes me think and play even longer you are the best builder by far thank you so much for what you do for all of us!!!!!!!!!
@danceswithowls4000 holy shit man, that’s an impressive amount of playtime! I’m approaching 1000 but I just don’t have the time to devote that much to it unfortunately. You are way too kind and I really appreciate the continued support! I will get around to building at least one of your original ships, might be like a herd of turtles but it will happen!
Doin just fine, thanks for asking! Hope you are doing well too. Really appreciate ya’lls patience, I know it’s been over two months but I am working on the edit for the next one, followed closely by another ship build. That won’t be all in the near future either, I’ve got 5 planned with the footage I’ve capped over this upload break. Thank you for all the support!
Hahah idk about perfection but my audio should be much cleaner from now on. Half the reason for the delay was the temperamental cargo links. Now I am rushing lol.
Wizard you make some great ships no doubt about it. Myself I'm still using the Frontier base ship with better guns, engines and about 1000 cargo. And I call it the Hornets Nest. I like small ships that pack a punch. But, can back out of trouble quicker then I get into it. Like Han solo says it's the fastest hunk of junk in the Galaxy. My age works against me so playing the game on hard or very hard isn't going to happen. But, I do enjoy your video's all the same. And what ever you do don't stop what you are doing, Onwards and Upwards.
You ended up doing the same thing I did with your previous basilisk by removing the bigger fuel tank and creating a core observation area. Try putting a view port underneath the captains armory too!
I may just do that! The things I learned after building the original really led me to make these improvements. The original was my very first build, and so I never had the extra tinkering time to even consider things like I’ve done here. Thanks for watching!
That’s definitely the best choice for hull rating, I’d rather have the extra power so I can delete threats more easily before they deplete my shield completely. That said, I do want to build a heavy ship around this reactor for sure. ShipTechnician is great! I’ve learned a lot from his analyses. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!
@@WizeOldWizard I really enjoy your videos and builds, congrats on 5k. Particle beam weapons are so OP I don’t notice any significant loss in firepower losing one point in two weapons and two points in the third weapon. Keep making awesome content!
It took me all morning, but I was successful in copying your ship style in my game.. my only complaint was that you didn't mentioning picking up the Apollo GR while in Red Mile. BUT, other than that it was spot on. My ladders aren't perfect, but its def. still doable. 9 out of 10. Great Job. It also ended up costing me a bit more, but that might have been from buying the wrong thing and then having to sell it back.
@@WizeOldWizard They may have changed something in the game then, because it wasn't available at all. I had to buy something else to get back to Red Mile to buy it. Thanks for clarifying though.,
@vegassims7 it’s always possible but what would be the point of making that change? I just checked Starfield Inara and the Apollo drives have the outpost builder listed as available. Either way, the best way to eliminate this problem is to download a mod that makes all ship modules available at your outpost.
Awesome build better than anything I've made, you should give it to Sona when you ng+😀. I typically only run 3 designs. 1. a shipthief with 6 obltiorators, 6 hellfires and a suppressor. 2. a Borg cube with 9+ turrets inside as they shoot through the walls, a single 3015 engine for 180+ speed (as thrusting makes this broken!) 30k+ cargo. And 3. The frontier. Congrads on 5k!
@corrosiongod oh right! So you get the option to give her a ship at the end? I haven’t even finished a playthrough yet. She’ll FOR SURE get my baddest ship when I get there in this playthrough.
@@WizeOldWizard unfortunately no option to do that exists. I just meant it as role play head canon. There are many things I would change as far as the story in game, a last will... They only have 2 accredited writers so we got what they payed for. Thanks for the conversation! Rare on TH-cam for sure!
Ah ok, I was thinking how have I not heard of this? I also didn’t know that they only had two writers. That’s… A shitty decision but what do I know lol. Anytime man! I try to respond to everyone. Cheers!
Duuuuuuude! Congrats on the 5k!! That is a great milestone. Now, how do you make your 1hr videos feel so much shorter? That is craaazy! The redesign on the rear is great and the interior window looks awesome, i think you made a great choice on that! The basilisk made better... who woulda thought itd be possible with an already OP destroyer? Thank you for great content and videos always! Look forward to more builds!
Thank you sir! Very much appreciate the support you’ve offered me along the way. I’m gonna shoot for an episode of Becoming a God next, and then maybe automated Vytinium Fuel Rod operation?

What a fantastic build - thanks for this! If you ever feel like it’s worth it, I’m so there for a Basilisk III. Notifications on!
@ZeddyLives after the Omen is published, I will be using mods. There is a LOT on the horizon.
You don't need all that fuel if you have full astrodynamics perks (or have Sarah in your crew) and an outpost that produces He3. I use 2 Titan 160's for my large ships and I can jump from east to west extremes.
Nice, I used all three because they add a bit of hull compared to structural fillers.
@@WizeOldWizard Ok, I would rather save the mass for cargo, but I get it.
i'm proudly honored to be the owner of the Basilisk II from the Wizard Engineering Factory.
That’s an excellent endorsement, thank you sir!
Not Wizard taking us out of our 2023 Basilisk and putting us in the 2024 model! Well done 👍
Gotta keep you boys fresh out there!
I built your original and really loved it. Stopped playing after about 500 hours. Came back last week, went from NG+7 (almost done) to NG+10 (back-to-back alternate starts which are super quick) and I saw you updated this outstanding ship.
I think it’s a great update/improvement but on the outside it’s effectively the same.
Enjoy!
Any ship design video that has Vanguard Hellfires on it is one worth watching.
Agreed! I have come to absolutely love those guns.
Thanks for watching!
Going all particle beams became too easy, even on very hard. Ship combat became WAY more enjoyable once I started using the Hellfire Autocannons
@High_Key I agree, especially based on the specific ship you’re flying. Something heavier that takes time to change direction needs to have that reach to try to play sniper, but for something light and quick the Hellfires add a level of challenge and tactics that you don’t have with the brainlessness of all PB’s.
I especially like how they kind of look like hotdogs from the front
After following all your instructions and finishing the build It's now literally my favourite ship , what a cool design man, very impressive
Much appreciated, thanks for watching!
I love this ship I build this on every play through it just flows so nice. Every other ship I get lost in with to many ladders that lead no where. Thank you
Glad you dig it! What do you think of Basilisk II compared to the original?
Also, just out of curiosity, what other ships do you really enjoy?
New Captain here..been soaring the stars for only 3 weeks, now.
Been learning lots from YT Captains....
Looking forward to viewing your previous builds, and adventures among the stars, Captain.
Great to have you, thanks for watching! If you have any questions about anything, let me know!
@@WizeOldWizard I have a list of questions...
But I will ask them, as I watch your videos...(previous and future ) . Cheers
my favorite build, i do this one (with a few tweaks of my own) at EVERY playthrough! my son even made me build him one!
That’s awesome man, Happy Father’s Day!
Absolutely love this ship. I have tinkered with many, but I keep coming back to this one. With mods, it is amazing.
Oh man I can’t wait to freely install whatever mods that I want. Come on CK! Can’t leave out my console audience.
Thanks for posting this ship build…I absolutely love this ship…especially the core window.
I've built a few beasts and a few buckets.
This is impressive.
Much appreciated, thanks for watching!
You are most welcome! Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.
The Vulcan is coming soon, and I bet you’ll dig it too…
You deserve all the subs.
Just finished the build; awesome. Between my Aegis, Scythe, Citadel, and now Basilisk II (with a couple of other builds) my fleet is complete!
Fuckin awesome man, I have my ninth ship built and just need to film it now, then I have one more open slot to fill once I get these three videos edited.
Hopefully this upcoming ship will compel you to move to NG+ to keep building!
@@WizeOldWizard My plan is to start another character and take that one into the Unity. Refuse to give up these glorious builds!
@pdexBigTeacher not a bad idea! I’m already on my second character and I don’t want to go back and work through everything again. I’ll just make a save in my original universe if I ever need to go back.
Amazing video, it looks amazing the ship updated with everything done from zero.COngrats!
Thank you! Modded version coming soon to celebrate 10k!
i just finish the ship building on my game, the basilisk is truly amazing ! Thank you !!!
My pleasure! Keep an eye out for the upcoming Omen, and thanks for watching!
I built the original Basilisk using the Mantis ship, and I’ll use it again for this new version in my new play through. Bro thanks for showing the overall cost at the beginning 👍
Hopefully this one is much easier to follow, as I’ve learned a lot since the original build.
Thanks for watching!
Just finished building a version of the Basilisk II, some differences with structural bits and a couple extry flip/duplication glitches on it. GREAT build design and wonderful build video. Well done Wizard! 👍🏼
Really appreciate that feedback, thank you for watching!
The "Slab", love it! Building this today!
Hahah yes, the shameless brick! At least it’s a brick for a very good reason, it has a cargo capacity of 129,120!
One of the best looking symetrical ships , with a great name.
Very kind words, thanks for watching!
I love the layout on this version. I am building this tomorrow to fill ship slot 10. That means you are responsible for 6 of those. Keep up the great work you do as I always light up when I get a notification that your channel has an update. Love your content.
Damn! Batting .667 would get me into the major leagues hahaha.
Thank you for your continued support!
Wow. That ship looks awesome. I love the tiered look of it from the side.
Much appreciated good sir, thanks for watching!
Going to come back to Starfield to build and fly this. Thanks!
Awesome! I’ve got two new ones coming up as well as those I’ve already posted. Have a look at the Archive, there may be something else that catches your eye!
Hello, nice to meet you. I enjoyed your build. I'm going to add it to my fleet. Thank you.
Enjoy!
Heh - I just finished modifying my Razorleaf to the Basilisk I today. I have something new to shoot for! Another excellent build, Wize Old Wizard!!!
Thank you sir!
That’s a sexy looking ship. By far best looking ship I’ve seen in star field
Very kind words, thank you for watching!
Best looking ship I've seen
It can be yours, did you build it?
@WizeOldWizard No, but I probably will
Wow… best ship build vids on TH-cam! Wizard is wise! The Basilisk is still my favorite. Followed by the citadel then Helion. Thanks Wizard! Congrats on 5k!
Thank you very much! A huge milestone made possible by you and everyone else that has supported me.
Cheers! And thanks for watching again.
Congrats on 5k! That's awesome and well deserved. I stumbled on your channel only recently, but you've quickly become one of my favorite Starfield channels. 👍👍
Very much appreciate that man and thank you for helping me get to 5k!
Very cool, definitely taking some inspiration for my next build
Still rocking and loving your OG build. Might try these mods after I’m done the new add on missions.
Next ship is a modded Basilisk, I’m in the final stages of video production. If the original is still your favorite, I know you’ll like this one.
I've built this craft about half dozen times now, I think it's still the best ship out there, it's just a beast!
I did evolve few things with the design:
The battle station and computer core I thought work better as Nova habs, externally they join to the back of the bridge better I think.
The best thing about it is how flexible the platform is. You can really build it in so many different ways.
Thanks for watching again!
thanks for the build, i learned a great deal on ship building and design from this it was awesome, also love this ship, been enjoying it.
You’re welcome! It is massively gratifying for me to help and inspire.
I hope you’ll be sticking around for more, I’ve got two upcoming builds that I think everyone will love. I teased them on my instagram, if you want to get a peek…
My Sunday is now complete - a new Wizard ship design to...attempt...to copy!
I have to say that this is the easiest one to follow yet, but if you have any problems don’t hesitate to holler at me!
love this ship built it more than once. Great new touches to the redesign i did some to mine nothing like this, thanks for your content!!
It’s still one of my favorites as well. Never had much time with it the first playthrough, so it was as much a reward for myself as it was a celebration for my viewers.
Thanks for watching!
it is definitely the best frog ship
Ribbit, ribbit, I’ll give your hull a divot.
00:15 On the way to 10k 😄
I know, it’s nuts!
Oh.. my.. god..
That is quite the ship! Congrats on 5k subscribers wizard, you deserve it!!❤🎉🎉
Thanks a bunch man, I never anticipated this to grow as quickly as you guys have allowed it to. I feel like I’m lagging behind on the channel’s look and features! So many creators out there have put so much work into their channels and it really shows.
Built this last night and love the look. Keep up the great designs!
Thank you sir! Keep your eyes peeled for the Omen build guide, it’s a ripper.
Now I have to build this. Must. Build. This. I have been in my Basilisk ever since you first put it out. Nothing else will do once you have one. This looks even better! Congratulations and many, many thanks! 😊👍
My pleasure, my good man! Thank you for watching again and leaving a comment. Cheers!
Nicely done, built it myself.
Thank you for watching! Feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thank you! I made this then went into the Union and lost it! Couldn't find the video. I'm remaking it tonight.
My pleasure man, thanks for watching again!
I'm deffo building this beast. Thanks.
My pleasure, I have a range of builds that you may enjoy as well.
Thanks for watching!
i'm only lvl 34 so got a long way to go but this is one SMFS lol ... can't wait to build it..
Smooth Mothafuckin Ship?
Check out the Aetos, perfect build at your level!
Super Massive Fuckin Ship 😅
@Neognostic-pk5wu not as big as the next one. Praise the modders!
First time on your channel. Saw the ship for 1 sec. Instantly subbed. What an awesome ship desgin!

@@WizeOldWizard much obliged 🫡

Again an awesome build! I really like the changes you made. Well done sir!
Thank you kindly! Appreciate your continued support!
This is my ultimate favorite ship build and my main ship I use throughout the game. I built it over the Razorleaf. Congrats on hitting 5K!
I'm hooked!
Congratulations on 5k!!!
Thank YOU for helping get me there!
Looking forward for your new build! Keep up the good work and thx for supporting Starfield. It's a great game imho
Brother, keep on truckin'! Great videos and killer ships!
Bangin gears and slammin beers brother!
Congrats on the 5K man! Hope you have a celebration IRL
That thing is a beast
Excellent build. Made it last night.. easy to build.. fast.. deadly.. might build the Citadel next..
Oh man you’ll enjoy the Citadel too, one of my favorite ships to fly in first-person. Fantastic visibility.
Just a word of warning though, the original build was based on module availability at level 49. You can and should choose level 60 upgrades for the reactor and weapons.
@@WizeOldWizard I dont have a Kepler R to use as a platforn. Used it for something else. Do you have a suggestion what to use?
@shanehall8447 use whatever you want, though if you want to reduce the build cost, use the biggest and highest-tier ship that you have available. Or just go and purchase the cheapest ship you can find. It seems there are still some bugs associated with captured ships, so if you go that route just be aware of that.
@@WizeOldWizard thanks for the response. I was thinking about going to capture a ship
@shanehall8447 have you picked up the Dagger from Vulture’s Roost already?
Hello, a few days ago I ran across one of your videos and I just want to say that I enjoy what I saw in your content and delivery of it. Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much! New content on the way… Had a couple of wrestling matches with the game and my own ambition haha.
Hey Wizard this has turned out incredibly well, keep up the good work. I might just need to just copy this one instead of going from scratch
Thank you very much my friend, copy away!
Thanks!
Dude thank YOU!
Not to mention I could finally not have random junk scattered all over the floor of my ship due to crew members knocking loose objects about (it also bothers me from my Navy experience: We call loose stuff like that "gear adrift" and NOT having that sort of stuff secured before setting sail would earn you a good ass chewing from your chief or division officer, at the very least!)
I also greatly appreciate you taking time to reply to my comments.
Congrats man
Thank you!
Congrats on 5K!
Thank you!
I hope some DLC including ship parts is on the way. I need some new shapes to play with!
Thanks for the hard work
Thanks for all the support!
Impressive improvement
I made some changes to the Aegis and turned it into a class C then I also made some cosmetic changes to the ship
I will also build this one and try it out
Glad to see your subscribers growing also glad to see you are still putting out Starfield content
If you didn’t build the original, you’re in for a treat. Thanks for watching again! I’ll keep at it until the Starfield well runs dry.
@@WizeOldWizard
This new layout is fantastic
I am going to change my other one that I built on the Razorleaf to this layout
Well done 👍
Wow, nice build!
Appreciate it, thanks for watching!
GTA VI is of course on the list but that’s a ways out still…
This ship is something else...
This statement can be used when referring to something good or bad, I’m hoping it’s the former in this case…
Thanks for watching!
@@WizeOldWizard It was a compliment. Actually doing this 1 right now xDD.
I gave you the benefit of the doubt but I didn’t want to make any assumptions either.
I hope you enjoy it, thanks for watching!
Congratulations on the 5000🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. That ship looks soo good. You have what it takes to do this. NASA should hire you!!!
Or Starfield 😊
@@WizeOldWizard no worries my dude! I am still working on my fighter aircraft getting a couple of version but it is hard to keep them small lol
Great vid. I watched the original but didn't get around to building it 😂. You've also earned a new sub my good sir! Keep up the great work.
Happy to have you, thanks for watching!
Hope you're doing well man, still watching previous video's for inspiration and idea's.
@@WizeOldWizard Rock on man, can't rush perfection 😃
Hahah idk about perfection but my audio should be much cleaner from now on.
Half the reason for the delay was the temperamental cargo links. Now I am rushing lol.
ohhhh nice builds
I look forward to seeing slight variants of this on Reddit for a few months.
Me too! I love that my builds can inspire other players.
Grats fella 😊 will have to go make some cash and save up to do a few of these 😁
A FEW of them? Damn man! Thanks for watching again, enjoy!
@@WizeOldWizard the Basilisk was worth it though! Shouldn't rake to long...
I ❤ this.
Thank you very much! If you like small ships, the Scythe will give you the edge you need, if you haven’t already seen it…
Yes I have seen it. And it will be my next build thank you.@@WizeOldWizard
Awesome, I think you’ll enjoy the hell out of it!
Very cool build, I stole it gladly!!
No theft here! Thank you for watching, your support is essential and highly appreciated.
I started using the Pinch 8A due to ShipTechnician’s video. I don’t notice the loss of 4 power and gain a bunch of hull.
I didn’t mention it because it can be purchased at your outpost ship builder.
Thanks for watching, enjoy the ship!
Damn, who’s Sona?
Sona you meet if you do Sarah Morgan's companion quest. Spoiler alert there is bad writing in this quest.
@@WizeOldWizard dude whatever order you wanna take them out in its up to you entirely! But ill be ready for whatever you release next!
The problem with attaching the armory to the top rear of the HopeTech Captain's Quarters is the ladder removes the nav console.
Very true. I’m not bothered by it because the ship also has a large Battle Stations. Otherwise that would suck.
Well done 👍👍
Thank you!
