If you start with the Bounty Hunter background you can capture one of the Crimson Fleet ships from the tutorial. No the greatest but it only costs around 5000 to register it so you'll have lots of money for upgrades and rebuilding.
There is actually an 11th ship. As you know you can run across derelict ships in space none of which you can take because they are damaged beyond repair. There is one however called a "Derelict Renegade" which I found. I'm not sure if the ship type is random or what , but is a huge multi story hauler type ship C -Class. Once you upgrade the weapons its basically a battleship.
I don't know if it was randomly generated, but in my playthrough, on Jemison, right outside the walls of New Atlantis behind where your ship is parked, there was a farm with a woman, her pet alien, and her ship called the Hulker. The ship was just sitting there with the door unlocked and the keys in the ignition, so I did the responsible thing and took it to teach her the importance of proper security measures. I was doing the quest where you have to save Barret and Heller and was at the part where you find Heller doped out on painkillers by the crashed ship. I noticed another ship nearby so I went to check it out. I boarded it and tried to interact with the cockpit just to see if it would let me. It did, but I felt guilty for messing with someone else's ship so I exited the ship and noticed an npc nearby with her lizard dog pet. She proceeded to tell me that her pet and her ship are all that she has to remember her dead mother. It was only when I returned and boarded the Frontier that the game told me I now own that ship. I almost shed a tear at the realization of what I had done. And the npc made no mention of it when I spoke with her afyer being on her ship. I expect a band of hired assassins to track me down any day now. TL; DR: I accidentally stole a random npc's memento of her dead mother
Oh shit… I’ve stolen 2 of her ship! She had like a lizard-dog thing, and I didn’t see her both times and I just went and stole it. Then I saw her walking around when the ship was taking off. She had a Transpo and a Kfir in my game.
You can get the Dumas in Sam Coe's personal quest line, but it is very buggy so save before you board. The quest will have going to get one item from the ship. You can blow the ship up and loot the item and everyone is happy. You can also board the ship, kill the crew and take it. The problem is Sam will sometimes "Hate" when someone is killed and then get "angry". He even did it once when he was the one that killed them lol. You can't dismiss him because it is his quest. The way I did it was to make him wait in the docking bay, stay crouched the while I killed the crew, and take the ship before looting the captain's safe because apparently he hates that too. On top of all that sometimes 2 or 3 of the crew will spawn above the ceiling. You can use sense star stuff to spot them and can shoot them in the bottom of the foot, but sometimes they get knocked back to where you can no longer hit them. That's where the saving before boarding comes in. Every thing on the ship rolls when you board including the enemies and their lvls. I ended up getting 2 low lvl enemies spawn above that I was able to one shot and clear the ship.
The Mantis Questline note will show up from random Spacers BEFORE the second quest. It just has to be dropped by a Spacer in general. I actually got it one time before I left the tutorial mission planet because I decided to just look around in the area near the abandoned science facility you fight the Crimson Fleet for the first mission at. But the area around that location is semi-random.
Yea, when I heard about the mantis quest being a super early quest I looked up where to get the item. Sure as shit I didn't loot any notes because I had no idea they could contain a quest, so I didn't get it. I flew back to the original quest location and got one off a spacer right away.
@@michaeldebidart Even if they weren't new to Bethesda games--which is even more likely as this is a new IP--sometimes people just miss some things. I don't know why you sound shocked by that.
I got the guardian ship sorta early. When they started coming around more often to attack me, I was able to catch one landing on a random planet, used stims to move real fast and board it before the starborn appeared.
Outside of Akila City, by the automated farm, is a UC Vanguard Raptor. Not sure if you have to join the UC. I ran into early wandering around outside the city walls. Came back later and took off in it, but at that time, I had joined.
Don’t forget there’s an Old Earth F-35, it’s located somewhere in what used to be South Carolina in North America. It’s crashed in a swamp but is still flyable.
First thing I did with the Star Eagle was to strip out the wings. and a lot of the fairings to reduce the things mass, then I put a bigger reactor and shield system on it with 3 twin autocannon turrets. That thing became a beast at that point, it was way faster than before and had a lot more firepower. I used it all the way to the end of the game before I got into new game+.
I don't know about the Keplar mission ships, but to me the Star Eagle is OP for it's class. I'm actually surprised it's considered an A class ship for all the stuff it has/can do. The mantis is the weakest ship in my fleet, it's a real fixer-upper. It's got good weapons which is about all I can give it.
@Harrison11106 yup I only really needed to upgrade the star eagle near the end of the game when I needed a 28ly jump drive. It really made space battles only 5% as hard than using the base ship.
I randomly found a open UC Narcissus on Luna at the fracking station in the beginning of the game. It's one of the best ships I've found so far. I upgraded it and now it's a beast
Of the ships listed I have 3 of them in my current (first) playthrough. The Star Eagle is so far the best ship by far. I'd argue that it's actually OP for it's ship class (it's considered Class A). I was underwhelmed by the Mantis' ship (the Razorleaf). The best thing about that quest was the Mantis uniform itself, the Razorleaf needed more upgrades then the Frontier, which is saying something (at the risk of bragging, my Frontier would run rings around the Razorleaf). What I will give the Razorleaf is the weapons.
Agreed, the Razorleaf is trash. I've completely rebuilt and renamed mine, doesn't share a single part with the original, but I still get the random Mantis interactions.
The best thing about the Razorleaf is the intimidation factor. People run screaming "Mantis" when it shows up. HINT: If you keep the hab, you keep the intimidation factor so you can change everything else.
@@jackflash6377 you don't even need the hab, it just has to have been that ship to begin with. There's not a single part of the Razorleaf left on my ship, but I still get the Mantis encounters.
I was able to persuade Malai for the reward and then just sat in the ship seat after our conversation. Landed at a starport and registered the ship with no issues.
Just strip the R down removing all the excess and streamline it. Doing that is cheap and allows you to customize something that comes with high end parts.
Too true. I built my ship off the sparrow and it’s *the* best Class A ship I’ve ever seen, could even rival and/or best some Class Bs Only downside is the mobility I’ve sacrificed to get a cargo of around 1600 (plus some extra shield cargo) (I got the skills to boost it to currently just under 1900) But then again. I also shut the engines off every space fight just to properly power the weapons, so mobility isn’t sooo extremely important (although trying to find the target to aim at can be a pain) Honestly, I usually suck at building everything and it all just ends up looking like a cube usually (or whatever abomination comes out usually looks ugly AF anyways) but I really built an honest to good star cruiser for once, something I could see being flown in Star Trek even (not the giant ships, mind you, but still, I proud 😁) Oh, and to the first reply, absolutely this! My ship’s cannibalized the default Sparrow’s engines and special cargo, something I’d need 1-2 points in the specific perk to unlock. Getting to the point of unlocking those soon so they may become moot, but my ship is possible thanks to those OP yet small powered Engines and far larger storage :D
agree, i sell all frontier part and replace with a new powerful parts. dont forget to lvl piloting skill to C class first. for me the first priority upgrade is SHIELD, ENGINE, and LASER. i dont recommended building huge storage cause mobility slowed.
Only nice thing about the free ones is if you know what you want on your new ship already, you can start with a ship that shares parts to save money. Especially on engines and reactors
On the Freestar ranger quest line when you're going to the mech factory and being attacked by few waves of ships, you can take all ships. just take down a ship engine even if there's 2-3 attacking you. quickly dock. the space battle outside will stop. take over the ship. make it home and register, then use it to fight the rest of the ships. and take out the engines of the next one. then dock and repeat. once wave will clear make sure you visiting the menu already to fix the newly captured ship. to be prepped for the next wave. you can in theory capture them all then use the last one to land on planet and visit the factory.
I sort of stumbled onto that trick just a few days ago. I thought all the ships had been taken out so I boarded the last one. As I was boarding I heard gunfire so I did what you did and took out one of the two that showed up and boarded the last one, basically two ships out of one fight. It was at that planet where you take out Paxton Hull in the Ranger's quest line.
I would consider ships you get as a quest line reward as a seperate category, the "Quest ships" if you want. You have to earn them. And the "free ships" as those you get without any investment or work on your half. But given that we´re talking about a mere 10 ships in total, you obviously threw them all together for simplicity. Good choice.
Hey Lunar, good vid but you can actually steal the starborn guardian if you are fast enough. When landing on a planet after the starborn get wise to you grabbing up the artifacts, you have a chance that the starborn will land on a planet close enough to your landing area that if you pop an amp and maybe personal atmosphere and make a beeline for the ship you can actually get there before the door says inaccessible and steal the ship. Now whether or not you have to spend money to register it is a different story as I've not actually done it (I'm always barely too slow to manage it) but I have seen videos of it being done.
I spent waaay too much time taking the Kepler apart and rearranging the pieces into something remotely aesthetically pleasing. The end result...was the Leviathan.
I found a Crimson Fleet Ghost ship sitting in the field somewhere, don't remember where anymore but somewhere close to the level 1 stars. When I boarded it I was told ship was mine if I killed the crew. They were all sitting in their seats in the cockpit so it wasn't very hard lol
I stole a nice UC cargo ship right after they landed on another planet but the downside is if you steal a ship you have to register it if you decide to sell it which also costs money but just have fun with it everyone because this game has something for everyone and I love it way more than I had ever anticipated.
If you can get to a Starborn ship as the Starborn are exiting, you can actually get into the ship and take it without ever going into NG+, sometimes its by chance they land near you, I had to use a trainer to increase my running speed to get to one in time, boarded it, and flew off whilst the Starborn were still on the wing.
@@kowalski202 Normally yeah but if you can get to one just as it lands and whilst the Starborn are exiting, then you can get in. I know this because I've done it and have a Guardian VI despite being on my first playthrough.
@@ModestlyAmazing The general technique I've seen for doing this is load up on accelerants - Auroa, Runner's Rush, etc - and dash as quickly a inhumanly possible to get to the Guardian ship as it lands.
@4:00 for me personally, I didn't have the ship space for the escort mission and when choosing the compromise dialogue option it heavily implied that I was about to get the lesser Kepler. Reloaded, still really didnt want to spend the credits on extra room on my fighter ship, Mantis, especially while in pursuit of my ideal larger ship. So I still disregarded the escort but chose the option for "team building" a few hilarious positive affirmations and a trip to Walter later I had the better Kepler. TL,DR: You dont have to do the escort for the Kepler R, just make sure you do the team building exercise instead of the compromise option. At least worked for me.
the fact that the guardian has so many little ledges and rooms inside of it yet it is not customizable at all makes me feel like bethesda was planning on letting the player build inside of it but didnt for some reason
Choice between Kepler S and R would depend on your piloting skill, or intended ceiling of piloting skill. If you aren't going for class C, then you can never pilot Kepler R. You could just sell though, of course. I will say, class C seems largely "not worth it". The actual best weapons are mostly A and B. I hope this changes in the future. I would have imagined some ultimate C class weapons to be these huge things that even require their own hard points to attach to. But they are just kind of similar to everything else, and weak. The biggest, or rather only, benefit of a class C, is that you get a shield reactor with like 100 more shield points than the best that B class has to offer. It's not even about hit points, as you can stack a huge hull point pool on any class of ship. Maybe the C modules will have larger system health pools, but that's just whatever.
@@Ah_Shit_Here_We_Go_Again Ok so turrets specifically? Kind of makes sense. Although I'm unsure what you are specifically referring to. Do you have everything unlocked, as in lvl60 character? In any case, why only turrets? Did you already notice how C engines are simply slower, but you can put an A engine there for your C ship to go 150-180? Also how everything but particle is trash in comparison. There's kind of a lot just glossed over in the balancing.
Getting rank 4 in piloting is super easy. just repeat the UC Vanguard simulator until you rack up enough kills to hit rank 4. Just remember to exit the simulator to buy the next rank as kills don't count towards your next level until you purchase the level before it. Kills don't stack.
I was able to get a Star Guardian earlier. After a certain point in the main quest- you are randomly attacked by Starborn, sometimes in orbit- but also sometimes they land on a planet. If you can get to the ship BEFORE the crew exits, the door will be accessible and you can fight for the ship.
0:29 Anything from the surface of the planet is random generated from the start of the game, also from the moment step outside the ship and whatever landing area point of interest as you've shown where to land to get the Dagger ship, I've also encounter on another planet. So, save the game inside the ship before exiting.
if you arm your spaceship with good emps you can, in battle, with a little patience get almost all the ships in the game, just damage them enough to board them, take out their crew and put yourself in the pilot's place and that's it. the ship with everything in it is yours! 🤩
I found a ship just parked outside a relay station or something on the planet that you go to before new Atlantis to deal with the Crimson fleet. It wasn't there dropping off enemies but I did have to kille the Eclipse mercs inside it.
Me, having spent something approaching a million credits completely rebuilding the Frontier from the ground up as an absolute beast of unfettered destruction…
I deconstructed the razorleaf completely and built a class c combat monster with 15000 cargo from scratch. Still getting that funny reaction by npcs though 😊I think the ships you build yourself can be a lot better than any of these.
Aye, once you have all the skills than you can essentially make better ships than anything on this list but for those that don’t or are barely starting a game these are definitely better than the starter frontier (not the UC Prison transport that thing is absolutely garbage)
Please can you do a video on EVERy recruitable companion and where to get them not just constellation and the named ones who hang out in lounge etc. but, from quests etc. such Amelia - would like to know I not missed any. Thanks
My first playthrough I did the Mantis questline. I never had to upgrade my armor through the entire game. I did upgrade parts to the ship before finishing the main quest.
My first play through I got the Kepler R. Very nice though I pared it down a bit because I didn’t really need that much cargo. Second time NG+ no matter what I did I ended up with a really bad version of the Kepler S. Low power, weak shield, no weapons. The only save I had was after initially talking to the group. The previous was just to far back. I think were I messed up was using the Starborn option instead of the persuasion check. 😅
There are comments here saying about The Datura coming after you later on if you spared Malai and only take her pistol. She came in saying like Simon has been dealt with now it's you turn or something. When I boarded the ship, she was no where to be found. Instead it was a few Security Personnel type of enemies. If you have opinionated companion with you e.g. Sarah, Sam, etc. They will be angry with you if you kill the Security Leader on The Datura in order to take over the ship, even if they themsleves are the one who land the killing shot. I think my game is bugged or something.
No, just poorly designed mechanics there. Had Sam get mad at me when HE threw a grenade at an alien and a random npc got too close and died. One of those random survivalist missions.
some of the ship u can easily get them when u go to another planet or moon Here is how u do it Step 1 see any ship trying to land near at running distance. Step 2 see if they are spacer or glatic something or varun bad people Step 3 if u like the ship design just sneak in the ship while its on ground and steal it Step 4 dont worry about any opponent on the ground only take care of the ones inside once they are attacked the ship will run away leaving them behind so easy target
I managed to get the ship from my Dad's poker game, but so far I'm really digging customizing my own ships. I've snagged a Varuun ship that I turned into my cargo transport and a Crimson ship that I'm trying to make into my fighter.
Me Stuck there and also trying to do Mantis - keep running into "unexplored path" warnings - having to just jump around to try and find a clear path and then getting attacked/distracted by side missions. Getting by, by trying to steal ships on random planets - but keep getting UC or colony ships and I'd feel bad killing them and taking off. (might do it on a "bad guy" run with a different character. Just managed to grab a couple of ships, so far, from Ecliptic and Spacer - and I'm also happy top steal from Crimson at the moment. Still trying to get the hang of boarding in space - think I need to swap ballistic weapons out for EMP/Lasers to reduce hull damage and avoid just blowing them up.
Don't listen to his advices for Kepler R! Give the "not bad, but ..." feedback to the engineers, so that the team building option will unlock, and choose the team building meditation. During that, use the first option always, and you'll get the Kepler R!
You have to be careful with the Datura though. I had it once despawn when I was on the eye, leaving me stranded there. Apparently this ship is bugged, sometimes it just goes back to the place where you got it. And unfortunatelly the game knows when you have no ship, meaning fast travel does not work. Only fast travel to your ship works, but the ship is when the bug strikes not there.. so you fast-travel in a white room and fall for eternity into nothingness. You can however go to a ship technician and switch to another home ship or if on another planet steal someones ship and fly away with that one. Wasn't possible for me though, because "lucky" 😫😫 I really like the Datura, but I will never set food on it ever again due to this bug.
you can get a starborn ship before ng+ if you rush it and get in seconds after it landed. you'll have to use several doses of aurora and amps. The first Starborn ship you'll get for ng+ is pretty weak tho
been trying to get ships from every faction. got galactic fleet and stiletto. though, the stiletto ship was big af. customs to firepower, shield strength, reactor type, engine power, fuel, grav drive...and gets increased to "holy shit, that's op".
I'm slightly perplexed that anyone would use a prebuilt ship when the most fun thing to do in this game is design your own - but to each their own I suppose. Haven't used a prebuilt ship since I landed on Jemison for the first time, earned enough credits to build my own through side quests and never looked back. Now I have a class-C 3500+ mass Deimos battlecruiser, and it's friggin awesome.
i don't know where to begin when it comes to building a ship the downside of building your own is the astronomical costs a reactor can cost up to 1 million i don't mind adding a few upgrades to a already existing ship probably gonna do that to my razorback or star eagle when i get it
@@deathhulk8860My whole ship cost less than 400k, and for my level it's as top of the line as I can make it - fully decked out with particle beams, missiles and rear facing turrets, the best shield, biggest reactor, best grav drive... and IMHO it looks awesome compared to most ships in game, which I find either ugly or boring.
So the first ship on Jaffa, I had to leave the ship to make it to Wolf to sell all the contraband. Went back to see if I could get it cause after sitting in the seat then leaving, didn't claim the ship. Well I end up having to run through the base again cause I had waited so many times at wolf from selling all the loot. The contraband in the chest are there again. I have the keys to the cells and rooms so that was easier. All the chest been refreshed. So double the XP and some extra contraband if you wanna run through it again.
Meh, the Dagger is a Deimos version of the Discovery by Nova Galactic, which is the mass production model of the Frontier. The Razorleaf is always worth grabbing though if you're interested in the fear effect; as it is tied to the ship slot and not any physical component you can remake any and all parts of the ship as you see fit and maintain the bonus. The Datura is a Raptor I. It is better at times to just land on planets and let RNG ships land until you find and take one you like.
I've been building the mantis out and it is more of a curse than a blessing to have ships constantly run. I also can't seem to get a reactor upgrade for it that looks like it fits soooooo. Slow, chunky ship with sad shields.
Missed one. Discovery can be found at a industrial outpost behind the lodge you can walk there and just walk on board and fly away no fighting required very basic ship weaker than frontier
You can claim the Datura without engaging in violence. As soon as you convince her to hand you Ember and stand down, the ship is free to take, even if she’s still alive.
Actually you can get the starborn guardian ship without new game plus as a random landing ship to steal by landing on Hawking IV A.....you can get many other random high teir ships to land here as well as its rng what lands however to garentee a ship lands when you do by going through the cut scene for traveling to the system and then again to the surface if you have it auto save enabled when you exit the ship you can watch it land and then reload to head towards its landing zone while its coming down to avoid it flying away.
You only need to do the combat mission to get the Kepler R. I got it just by doing only the combat mission. The rest of what you said about it is true though.
As a warning to all players seeking Mission-Specific ships like the Datura, Dagger and Dumas. They have a high rate of 'abandonment', trapping you on a planet unless you have a ship services tech. I do not believe that as of the time of this comment that this bug has been fixed.
You can actually attack (and disable the the engines) of the Kepler R in this encounter without getting a bounty or upsetting companions as well as kill the entire crew onboard without consequences, and then take the ship for yourself. Allowing you to get a second Kepler R at the cost of just having to register it.
same here brought sarah along and gave her a decent weapon she took most of the fire which helped used grenades and guns the robots but it was worth it for the armor and ship

I have had a chance to GTA a Var'uun and a UC Raptor, but I was too low level to take over the crew for that Var'uun and getting killed repeatedly and I have to give up, and I am not allowed to fly the Raptor because i was too low skilled.
Omg I didn’t know the Razorleaf had intimidation I would go into I blind fury taking down spacers and hear them chatter in the background before they Jump away
Interesting, I wasnt allowed to pilot Datura for some reason, however I was allowed to pilot Dumas, a ship from another mission of Ryujin (i think) which isn't on this list not sure about weapons on that one, but other base stats looked much better than that of Star Eagle.
All the ships are free if you’re good enough.
It's actually really easy getting these ships. You can just build them, and rename them to match.
I've stolen 4 or 5 ships. The railstar is the best so far. I lost out on 2x raptor because I didn't have the b license

Same happened to me, a random Spacer dropped a tablet and on it was the mission.
i got it 3 times from the same spot, helping into the UC/Rangers situation, don't want to spoiler, even if it's not big deal...
@garthvater have you never played a Bethesda rpg? Reading notes/books and listening to npc conversations have been staple quest sources since forever
Probably if you don't join the UC you are not able to stole their ship from random landing on a planet or moon.
Don’t forget there’s an Old Earth F-35, it’s located somewhere in what used to be South Carolina in North America. It’s crashed in a swamp but is still flyable.
For real?
@@DoctorSess Unfortunately, no; it's just topical humor brought on by the F-35 that went missing over the past week.
@@packtray6569😐😑😐
@packtray6569, isn't it right beside the chinese air balloon?
I was just looking for a video like this and couldn’t find any outside of The Mantis and Star Eagle, thank you!
Really the razor leaf sucked. I sold it and don't feel bad about it at all
The Star Eagle is awesome. Just put some Vanguard obliterators on it and it'll wreck anything.
For the Vulture's Roost you can pick a locked safe in the bar which will give you keys to all the contraband rooms.
So glad I never talked myself into buying a $300 ship in SC lol
I was able to persuade Malai for the reward and then just sat in the ship seat after our conversation. Landed at a starport and registered the ship with no issues.
The Kelper S is beautiful, and can be upgraded to be a good C class ship without seriously compromising it's styling.
kepler r better
@@randysmith68 better stats, sure, but I hate how it looks.
looks arent always important@@andrewolson5471
@@andrewolson5471what? You don't like shipping crates all over your space ship?!
Just strip the R down removing all the excess and streamline it. Doing that is cheap and allows you to customize something that comes with high end parts.
I highly recommend just making your own ship. Nothing you can buy or get for free can compare to something you can make yourself.
Always check the parts on stuff your going to sell sometimes beter off building off a captured ship especially c class gets expensive
Too true. I built my ship off the sparrow and it’s *the* best Class A ship I’ve ever seen, could even rival and/or best some Class Bs
Only downside is the mobility I’ve sacrificed to get a cargo of around
1600 (plus some extra shield cargo) (I got the skills to boost it to currently just under 1900)
But then again. I also shut the engines off every space fight just to properly power the weapons, so mobility isn’t sooo extremely important (although trying to find the target to aim at can be a pain)
Honestly, I usually suck at building everything and it all just ends up looking like a cube usually (or whatever abomination comes out usually looks ugly AF anyways) but I really built an honest to good star cruiser for once, something I could see being flown in Star Trek even (not the giant ships, mind you, but still, I proud 😁)
Oh, and to the first reply, absolutely this!
I did that with my Mantis in Very Hard, with 3 Plasma 3300A + 6 Vanguard Obliterators.
You can do the Walter quest before high price to pay. You can get it after the Neon quest with Walter
NG+ and Starborn screwed this game up. What a bad idea.
Guardian ship is inaccessible till you start NG+
@@kowalski202 Normally yeah but if you can get to one just as it lands and whilst the Starborn are exiting, then you can get in. I know this because I've done it and have a Guardian VI despite being on my first playthrough.
@@ModestlyAmazing The general technique I've seen for doing this is load up on accelerants - Auroa, Runner's Rush, etc - and dash as quickly a inhumanly possible to get to the Guardian ship as it lands.
Also note: if your ship inventory is full, any ship you get from a quest is added to the ship total, pushing you above the limit.
Welp you can now
Choice between Kepler S and R would depend on your piloting skill, or intended ceiling of piloting skill.
This is false, the best guns in the game are the Class C particle turrets. They out range and out dps every other ship weapon in the game.
Casually yoink a Eldritch beings foams
Same energy as pickpocketing vampires in Skyrim lol
I've tried this four times to test and can confirm its absolute bullshit 🤣 why lie ?
0:29 Anything from the surface of the planet is random generated from the start of the game, also from the moment step outside the ship and whatever landing area point of interest as you've shown where to land to get the Dagger ship, I've also encounter on another planet. So, save the game inside the ship before exiting.
That's not quite right. It's randomly generated from the first time you land on a given planet, not from the very start of the game itself.
if you arm your spaceship with good emps you can, in battle, with a little patience get almost all the ships in the game, just damage them enough to board them, take out their crew and put yourself in the pilot's place and that's it. the ship with everything in it is yours! 🤩
If you have a level on targeting systems skill you can just target the engine with emp once the shield goes down, makes it fast.
@senzanome7302 not a horrible base to start tho free ship is free ship and you can build the shuttle nice mine is built into a class b freighter
Thanks for making this !
One of those random survivalist missions.
the mantis is the best ship you can get early in my opinion and can be upgraded really well fairly cheap
use the mantis to capture a Wight and then use the Wight to make a much better ship.
U mean Razorleaf?
@@robinekhoodekful yes that is the ship you get during the Mantis quest.
There is the "damaged ship" as well. It's a very good B class you can get for free and all you have to do is kill 4 spacers
Lunar!!! It's so good to hear your voice again!!!
With the right attitude all ships are free.
I had a guardian VI in my first universe. Never had to join unity. Now I'm 4 universes deep and i miss the characters from the first universe.
I used the UC prison shuttle as a base to build a custom ship
some of the ship u can easily get them when u go to another planet or moon
Here is how u do it
Step 1 see any ship trying to land near at running distance.
Step 2 see if they are spacer or glatic something or varun bad people
Step 3 if u like the ship design just sneak in the ship while its on ground and steal it
Step 4 dont worry about any opponent on the ground only take care of the ones inside once they are attacked the ship will run away leaving them behind so easy target
I managed to get the ship from my Dad's poker game, but so far I'm really digging customizing my own ships. I've snagged a Varuun ship that I turned into my cargo transport and a Crimson ship that I'm trying to make into my fighter.
Isn’t there 11? The ranger dude companions special quest gives you the Dumas the best acquirable smuggling ship.
Thanks for this! Didn't know about the Dagger, gonna go get it now :D
I stumbled on the starborn guardian by accident lol, i cant wait till i can go back and take it 😂

Stuck there and also trying to do Mantis - keep running into "unexplored path" warnings - having to just jump around to try and find a clear path and then getting attacked/distracted by side missions.
Enjoying myself on this title. I understand why they didn't let us land on planets from the atmosphere. Would have been really cool though.
Any ship is free if you're good enough *Jazz hands*
Don't listen to his advices for Kepler R! Give the "not bad, but ..." feedback to the engineers, so that the team building option will unlock, and choose the team building meditation. During that, use the first option always, and you'll get the Kepler R!
There's actually a free ship in Aquila if it wasn't just a random thing I ran in to, that looks like a military base with a spaceship.
I prefer the Kepler S over the Kepler R
The stolen ship also are free ship! The main gypsy secret is that a stolen horse is cheaper than a purchased one.
you can get a starborn ship before ng+ if you rush it and get in seconds after it landed. you'll have to use several doses of aurora and amps.
The first Starborn ship you'll get for ng+ is pretty weak tho
You forgot to mention The First Pterosaur from First To Fight, First To Die quest which you can get by hijacking it.
Its quite decent for a Class-B.
I just destroyed that shit RIP didn’t even know you could get other ships
You forgot one. You can get a Derelict Ship (that's it's name) as your ship. Got one and sold it to Cydonia with no issue.
you can hear the fear in that spacers voice at 1:47
been trying to get ships from every faction. got galactic fleet and stiletto. though, the stiletto ship was big af. customs to firepower, shield strength, reactor type, engine power, fuel, grav drive...and gets increased to "holy shit, that's op".
Would it be safe to say the freestar one would be great to keep until overdesigned?
So the first ship on Jaffa, I had to leave the ship to make it to Wolf to sell all the contraband. Went back to see if I could get it cause after sitting in the seat then leaving, didn't claim the ship. Well I end up having to run through the base again cause I had waited so many times at wolf from selling all the loot. The contraband in the chest are there again. I have the keys to the cells and rooms so that was easier. All the chest been refreshed. So double the XP and some extra contraband if you wanna run through it again.
I found a random ship sitting at an abandoned scientific outpost. It was free to take, but I left it.
I found some derelict ships you can get when you find some goto pilot chair then you see if you can take them or not.
Thank you so much I didnt get the dagger leaf yet, but I got the razor leaf
I renamed the Datura to Malai’s Choice. Her sister is a vendor on the Key too.
The UC prison ships my main one, after loads of modifications, obviously
Meh, the Dagger is a Deimos version of the Discovery by Nova Galactic, which is the mass production model of the Frontier. The Razorleaf is always worth grabbing though if you're interested in the fear effect; as it is tied to the ship slot and not any physical component you can remake any and all parts of the ship as you see fit and maintain the bonus. The Datura is a Raptor I. It is better at times to just land on planets and let RNG ships land until you find and take one you like.
The Kepler S is better than the R. Stats are a little worse but it's so much better looking and that's a win.
Great video, some awesome looking ships.
I use the prison shuttle to smuggle contraband
You can also take the ship, Dumas, during the relationship questline with Sam Coe for free.
How I hate floating around a room of stars to a Custer of stars
As a warning to all players seeking Mission-Specific ships like the Datura, Dagger and Dumas. They have a high rate of 'abandonment', trapping you on a planet unless you have a ship services tech. I do not believe that as of the time of this comment that this bug has been fixed.
I ran into a random NPC with a Kepler R and she was complaining about how ugly it is and how huge it is. She had serious buyer's remorse lol.
You can actually attack (and disable the the engines) of the Kepler R in this encounter without getting a bounty or upsetting companions as well as kill the entire crew onboard without consequences, and then take the ship for yourself. Allowing you to get a second Kepler R at the cost of just having to register it.
Probably the best ship you can get your hands on is the Ecliptic Claymore III
Its nice to fly A class ships. But i prefer C class. Economy is good, but flying private is better! Expensive but worth it...
I managed to get the razorleaf while being only level 10. I died quite a bit
same here brought sarah along and gave her a decent weapon she took most of the fire which helped used grenades and guns the robots but it was worth it for the armor and ship
You don't even have to kill Malai to take the Datura. I convinced her to go into hiding and then just sat down in her chair and registered the ship.
I've so far Grand Theft Starship 2 pirate ships in my game, one class A (Ecliptic Stiletto) and one class B (Spacer Jackal) . I have had a chance to GTA a Var'uun and a UC Raptor, but I was too low level to take over the crew for that Var'uun and getting killed repeatedly and I have to give up, and I am not allowed to fly the Raptor because i was too low skilled.
I got a ship from a civilian outpost on a planet, i forget what it was called, i renamed it the Defiant.
I kept using the Prison Shuttle until I had to fight the pirates lol
Damn, I guess I wont be getting the Kepler R then.
Omg I didn’t know the Razorleaf had intimidation I would go into I blind fury taking down spacers and hear them chatter in the background before they Jump away
Can you add weapons to the Keplar?
It's always "I picked up something interesting for you, I hope you like it" and it's 5 rounds of 50 MI ammo. Like...... What am I gonna do with that
i get free ships all the time simply by exploring planets fairly often a ship lands and i simply walk in and take it
Interesting, I wasnt allowed to pilot Datura for some reason, however I was allowed to pilot Dumas, a ship from another mission of Ryujin (i think) which isn't on this list
not sure about weapons on that one, but other base stats looked much better than that of Star Eagle.
