Steve, I'm absolutely positive that every Government since the 1980's used Orwells 1984 as a bloody road map, instead of the warning it was meant to be. Keep up the great work Brother. 🇬🇧
Great peripheral awareness Steve, hearing something as small as that rod falling off, plus throughly investigating the source 👌. Great job and photography as per usual plus Great audio track.
Hell, even the ticket system is the same way if your rich enough. You can speed but it costs you x $ for the ticket, so if the ticket amount is pocket change, you can speed at will and , eh, pay it off with what you find hidden in the couch since your that rich. Want to throw something out the window of your Lambo? Eh, no biggie, if you get caught the ticket is just a slap on the wrist with a very limp noodle. >.
That sound was physics at work. That sharp right turn put torsional load on the trailer, which put stress on the binders, chains and load. When you completed the turn the torsional load transfered back through the chains and binders, causing one tie down point to pop under the stress. Those lowboys do a good job distributing the weight along the length of the trailer. Not so much on uneven roads or sharp turns. When you hear that pop? Check binders, chains and your neck connection points. Trailer is built for longitudinal load. Not lateral load. It'll twist.
Considering a live a few minutes from where you just pulled out I’m still blown away I haven’t seen you on the road lol. Seen some of the other trucks but not you or Orwell
I stop at that KT on my way to Milwaukee all the time. If you are ever looking for a good view head up the road about 7 miles or so to the Basilica at Holy Hill. Beautiful church and you can climb the stairs in the tower and on a clear day you can see for miles. It is a beautiful sight!
Don't take the truck there though!! Take a bike or a sports car!! The roads around Holy Hill are an absolute joy to drive!!!! I go there alot myself. Last time I went the tower was closed. 😞 You can see Downtown from up there. The roads around there are absolutely awesome though. Especially in Fall.
Hey Steve Enjoying seeing Orwell running up & down thoes roads! How about some FSC Hats!! That would be cool! I would sure buy one!! Be safe out there!!
That's exactly what I suggested last week! Lol J.W. Speaker is a local company here in Wisconsin and they make THE BEST LED replacement headlights! D.O.T Legal and a lifetime warranty!! I have some in my Datsun Z car and Wow is all I can say! Absolutely the best thing I've ever done for the car!!!! Had Hella's before them and 1 went out. Discovered J.W. Speaker and after installing, I will never use anything else. Absolutely hands down, amazing headlights!!!! I get alot of compliments about them too! They also make special motorcycle headlights that shine the light off to the side when the the bike leans in a turn kinda like my Mercedes AMG headlights do.
As much as I have tried, I always seem to miss all the fun and games of blitz weeks. As for little noises from the road, there's one I like to stop for: That distinctive sound that tool steel makes when you run it over. I've picked up a few gems over the years. It's good that you are in tune with the sounds of Orwell!
Great video Steve really enjoy all the different camera angles and your commentary and the music. Orwell sounds good pulling that load. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Steve.

Imagine if one of those Western Star plastic trucks tried hauling that kinda loads, they'd cry for their mama and turn the dash into a christmas tree XD
Dunno bout a plastic star but I DO know of a metal star that'd tote it and then some. Granted trk is only bout 16 yrs old with 575k on it with a series 60 and 15spd LL trans and bout a 80k winch on it she ain't purty and ain't fast but 90000 is a drop in the bucket considering the big iron it's hauled over the years😂😂
The plastic star car is a champ, we actually put a 90,000 pound machine on the deck not a 60k machine and click bait the audience, and pull it into the cascade mountains. 20%+ grades on dirt and gravel. My empty weight is 80k.
My 02 volvo can pull that no problem. Even hauled a couple triple digit loads. Plus the ol girl has over 2.1 million miles on it. Not the fastest truck on the road, but it's very reliable. 😊
Did it mention that "1984" was not published in 1941 as Steve states in this video?. I believe he has said that in the past in one of his older videos.
If you do the proper maintenance. You shouldn't have to worry about the DOT on their bltz week. This isn't Smokey and the Banidt. I think that you should not go, and throw rocks into glass windows. The rod could have gone into someone's windshield, and caused a accident.
I understand your concern about the chrome wheels. My dad came home from Sears Roebuck in his 1956 Olds sporting a brand new set of white sidewall tires, replacing the old black sidewall tires. My brother and I were so excited! That was a couple years ago. 😂
One day years ago I was driving my Ram and I heard a dink, ting! and them something dragging on the ground. Turned out to be the shift on the fly 4wd linkage had deteriorated and fell apart
It's about time someone started using hybrid technology in commercial vehicles instead of full electric. I've wondered why they don't use it on bucket trucks. I've driven over 2 million miles on my Toyota Priuses, plenty of torque and it's nice how the engine shuts off and powers the AC when parked in the Arizona heat. Linemen tend to go up in their bucket and once in work area don't have to move much. The engine has to stay on to power the hydraulic pump if needed. A hybrid could power the pump via the battery and reducing noise and the nasty emissions that our neighbors in California hate so much and only fire up the toxic engine if battery gets low charging them and shutting back off until needed. America is not set up for all electric yet and personally I don't trust lithium batteries like the Tesla uses.
Steve I know you run additives in winter months do you treat your fuel in the summer months to keep your injection pump and injectors lubed up from the shit fuel of today
Maybe your mechanic if he still there he can repair your trailers they look bad your lucky the DOT hasn't caught up to you son maybe focus on your equipment instead of pushing your merchandise from China !
