Renault Florida, renovation in two versions. Corgi Sedan and Solido Cabriolet.

Die-cast models of the Renault Florida appeared in 1959 at the same time in the Corgi and Solido companies. The English company Corgi made the Sedan model, while the French company Solido made the convertible model. I show these very nice models in today's video as part of a comparison of cars made in the same scale. I had more work with the Solido model, because it did not have a dashboard, windshield or a figure of the lady who drove the car. I also had a lot of difficulty making the box for the Solido model, because it is a rather rare box in the form of photos on the Internet. Despite this, I managed to put together a template for this box in a graphics program. Thank you for your interest in my channel, I publish videos with car repairs on TH-cam on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The video has subtitles, subtitles can be turned on in the settings on your mobile phone, on a desktop computer and on your TV.

Ich kann mich daran erinnern, daß der "kleine Paul" dieses Auto auf der Straße sah und davon träumte, sowas mal selbst zu fahren...
Mittlerweile wurde aus dem "kleinen Paul" der "alte Sparky" und ich muss sagen, ich mag den Renault Florida immer noch 🤩
Exzellente Restaurierung beider Modelle; es fällt schwer einen Favoriten zu wählen, Solido oder Corgi. Würde sagen, BEIDE sind umwerfend 🤩🤩 Ganz klar, beide Daumen hoch dafür 👍🏼 👍🏼

As always, Paul, an utterly beautiful restoration. Now, as much as I like the work you do on the models, I think I like your boxes for them even more. Never seen this corgi model before; what year was it in production? They also dont look similar in any way? Which one actually resembles the real car?

thank you very much. both models are from 1959 and were produced until 1965. it is true that despite the manufacturers' assurances that the scale is 1 to 43, the solido model is still larger than the Corgi. In fact, if you look closely, you can see similarities to the original model.
