Im consistently impressed by how you acheive such high end results through such low tech processes. Just gors to show that technique and patience trumps everything else.
Beautiful work! I was skeptical at first about replacing the scales with brass, but I love the result. Anyone would be proud to carry that knife. I don’t see how it could be better. 10 of 10
That is a Russian made knife according to research . Probably from the 1980s or 1990s. Possible made in a prison work camp. It is a very good restoration.

loved watching you do the restoration. I liked how you made the brass scales and the look of them. I did hammer finish on Aluminium at Metal Work in school so I was familiar with that process. I think you could has resurrected the original aluminium scales it you wanted to, only one of them was bent!!

He has been saving that brass since WWl, why not use it here.
Great restoration. I give it a 9 out of 10, just because I'm not completely sure the original saddles were not recoverable. But I wasn't there so I could be wrong. :)
Exactly. You aren't there. And giving it a rating the way you did, you have a more successful channel or platform? I'll guess no. No one cares aboutvyour opinion
Great restoration. We all have our own ways of doing things and people will always have an opinion on how you complete something. Whilst some restorers like to use machines throughout the process, there’s nothing quite like doing manual work and getting a sweat on. That beaten finish on the brass looks really good and the original plates had served their purpose so it was time for change. I too have boxes of bits passed down, even if you use just 1 out of the hundreds, they’ve served their purpose and can continue to be passed on. 9.˙9 (Persian flaw (because nothing is perfect).😉) Nicely done. 👍. (Subscribed BTW)
My Dad left me a big collection of nuts, bolts, screws, and nails (staples, eye bolts, hooks and other unidentifiable things) when he passed away. I took a large, broad plastic bottle (it was a bottle for bulk tomato sauce) and cut the side out below the handle. Now I pour the objects into it and search for what I want and, when finished, I open the cap and pour them easily into a container. Saves a lot of trouble.
Mükemmel çalışma, tebrik ederim. Yalnız videonun sonunda bıçağı sehpaya koyup 360 derece yakın çekim yapmanı tavsiye ederim, son durumun iyi görülebilmesi için.
9.6 out of 10 - would recommend! I love those pliers at 8:51 - I've never seen a pair like that (not that I know much about pliers). Awesome restoration as always. And I like the part where you neutralize the acid the acid (with sodium bicarb?). 👍 EDIT: now that was a surprise! At first I thought you'd restore an old WW1 shell casing 😂 - but what you did with that was awesome - I huge improvement (IMO) and what I would call a nice family heirloom piece you could give to a younger relative. Very cool result!
This is what I like. No music, no "Show Biz" antics, just the sound of a Pro at work. Great job.
thanks)
9.8 only because nothing is perfect.
This is as close to perfect as a master restorer can get.
Excellent with a chef’s kiss for emphasis 👍🏼👍🏼
I would feel incredibly proud to carry that knife. It is sso clean, looks phenomenal. 11/10
Absolutely beautiful work. Love the color contrast with the brass grips. 10
As a restorer of antiques I can appreciate high quality workmanship ..!! Great restoration..!! Look forward to the next.!
thanks!
Beautiful, like your brass work 10/10

Excellent work as always!

так, схоже на те - в мене колись був ніж зоновської роботи то дуже схожий по типажу на цей

Actually it is Belarusian , late 70s possibly made in a shed behind a timber mill, the maker was wearing a green hat, and polyester underpants.
Это наверное зоновский нож. Металл ржавый и алюминиевая ложка. Жаль потерялся рисунок с алюминиевых вставок.

Yes. He has to use it sometime, before he dies!!
10/10. Lovely work. I am a knife fan and nice to see you bring this one back from the scrap it was.
Great restoration. I give it a 9 out of 10, just because I'm not completely sure the original saddles were not recoverable. But I wasn't there so I could be wrong. :)
I suspect hammering them straight would have damaged the engraving.

Espetáculo! Parabéns pela recuperação do objeto que ficou sofisticado com essa nova roupagem!
Beautiful job! A 10 no doubt.
