    Since I've got to put a few hundred break in miles on the 2018 Panigale V4S I figured I'd take you guys along for a ride and give you my first impressions on the bike. If you'd like to be entered to win this motorcycle and help support the series, check out the patreon page! www.patreon.com/campisicustoms

      Reason for not doing a Dyno break-in for this bike like you did with the Daytona?

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark Tomlin great question. I wanted to put some miles on this one and some heat cycles since it’s a much larger engine and a first generation. We will be finishing the break in on the Dyno next week. 👍

    This first ride review was great You talked about the bike & its amazing features in detail which is a huge plus for those of us interested in acquiring such a beast in the future . That Duc in stock format is amazing as it is adding an Akra full system will without any doubt give this Duc
    some power delivery like no other
    Your list of mods planned for the V4 is impressive on paper just imagining what the final looks & function will be of this build is making me drool already .

    The temp gauge actually sounds easy, you said three bars the first when it’s too cold the second when it’s ready or just right and the third when it’s too hot sounds even more simple and takes all the guess work out when waiting for the right temp to ride.

    I’m picking up my Speciale this weekend. I own an aprilia RSV4 also. Ducati HP numbers are all over the place. Need to see what the dyno says. At any rate Ducati has big shoes to fill if it wants to make a bike better than the RSV4 and the sound of the aprilia makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm really curious to see what you think compared to the RSV4. I've ridden both but it was 2 years since I had ridden the Aprilia so it was tough to remember...keep me posted and congrats on the Speciale...gorgeous bike.

    • @taxi615
      @taxi615 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll probably love the V4 since the RSV4 is one of the worst bikes to ride comfort wise.( didn't say the bike was bad before you roast me...lol ) As for numbers well we all know how the internet works and how much people love to say whatever makes their favourite bikes look good but to have done close to 900 kms on a V4 I can say its a solid 200 hp bike wouldn't be surprised it would dyno 188-192 depending where and when during the year it's dynoed. But in the end it's not about HP it's about how it feels under the rider you can have the best bike in the world if you can't be on it more then 30mins or can't drive it with ease then it's not what you need hope this makes sense for you ?

    Hi Jaret, big fan here, I've been watching your channel for a couple of years now, from fitness to motovlog, and I enjoy the work you do with Dado on these bikes for the Patreon. Just a thought here- I understand that the guys who are supporting the Patreon pretty much choose which bike you upgrade(it's logical I get that), why don't you and dado upgrade some of the older bikes and therefore make it unique? Since I'm ducati fan just from the top of my head, fully packed 999R superbike, now that would be AWSOME..
    Much love and greetings from Croatia.
    P.S sry for bad grammar(second language)

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much man I'm glad you are enjoying the videos! And we actually did think about that but its pretty hard to come by parts for the older ducati super bikes so it could make the series a bit tough to do in a timely manor. Definitely not ruling it out but for now we will continue to do newer bikes.

    I love the design with the aluminum frame member. It is essentially integrating the structural and dynamic design of the bike into the esthetic design. To see this I think it helps to study how the structural dynamics work with in the engineering of the bike compared to the older 'air box frame' design of the 1199/1299. With this design they are essentially showcasing the new superior engineering and integrating it into the esthetics. I think it is the most beautiful panigale ever made. I'm a little disappointed in the design of the new v4r. I think Ducati has compromised the new design with the v4r and listened a little too closely to the negative comments many have made about the new design of the v4/v4s. I really think over time the v4,v4s as it was released in 2017 will go down as one of the most beautiful Ducati's ever made. Love the bike build series btw. Keep up the good work.

  • @taxi615
    @taxi615 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very nice bike very happy for you guys :) one thing the self cancelling turn signals isn't new tech bmw has that on their bikes since 2010 but it is really nice to have only thing I hate about the system is if you lean it when stopped :say to look at something on the ground they cancel out maybe the new models only cancel them if the bike is rolling but its only a minor gripe.
    If your riding in full leather gear you dont feel the heat on this bike the 1299 ALWAYS felt like you had a fire pit under your ass it was terrible even with the carbon shields they gave you it was just brutal.
    I actually cancelled the DDC on my s1000rr's race bikes I can better adjust everything with aftermarket set ups. The electronic kits on the bikes are great for Mr. and Miss street drivers and weekend racers as they don't need to do anything, no more sag adjusting and worrying about tires waring out from bad suspension set ups because of drivers weights and driving styles.
    This bike is one bad MF but this is far from a beginner bike or even for a casual rider. I got the chance to get one last weekend for some testing from my dealer to see if I wanted to change stables next season I was very impressed with how far Ducati got from last years bike to this bike light years apart so I'll have some thinking to do since bmws been a sponsor for a while now. First world problems I guess lol

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha I think you are spot on with your assessments. And I would say this and the BMW/Aprilia are all tough choices for a track guy. It would really just come down to personal preference. I think the 2019 S1000RR is going to be pretty insane as well so you might just want to hold off :)

    • @taxi615
      @taxi615 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah I would definitely never own/track an RSV4 really don't like the bike and it's brutal uncomfortable to ride but it's not a bad bike just not for me. As for 2019 well I would assume that I will get some info on the new S1K soon since I ride for them from what I heard it will be something outta this world so I can't wait to see if the hype will be better then their transition in 2016 which was just update and nothing really new. One things for sure bikes today are brutal and they are all very fast and the turn ins are fast it all comes down to how you feel on it. but I hate all the electronics on bike today as they interfere in your riding on the track the bike drives more then the rider does now. For the street it's perfect people need those things because many riders buy more then they can actually drive, kids these days all they think about is HP's and top speeds and they almost always forget to turn and brake lol

    Don't let teens ride it and as per previous comment on the carbon Duc, use full beans on break in...
    Also, the bike has a built-in cutoff when stopped in first gear/neutral with the clutch pulled in, it cuts out the rear two cylinders from firing.

    Wanted to know how much difference is there between v4 and v4s performance and are they exact same in look
    And will u use wrap on this v4s to get exact look of Speciale ... bcz Speciale paint is just wow isint it??

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They look exactly the same. They have exactly the same engine as well. The main difference is the electronic ohlins suspension and the light weight forged wheels. 99% of the riding population wouldn't notice a difference between the two if I'm honest. And no we are doing a full carbon build on the V4 with red glossy accents :)

    I've never gotten a chance to ride a V4 (at least not yet :P) so could you tell me how it compares in a sense of smoothness to the CBR1000RR? From what I hear it is the smoothest V4 on the market, but do you think it is smoother than a inline 4?

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Its not quite as smooth as an inline 4 but its pretty damn close to be honest...the V4 still has a bit more character and in my opinion, that character makes it much more fun to live with for a longer period of time.

    • @2WheelPursuit
      @2WheelPursuit 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, I've always felt like a lot of the inline 4's lack character, and with this new V4 I think you get the character of a Ducati Twin and the smoothness of a Inline 4, Its the best of both worlds. Ducati did really good :)

    How is the engine heat after riding a few hours. I have an S1000RR and the heat is unbearable on the left leg on a moderate hot day. What would you say about the V4's engine heat?

    First ride yes, review not quite. That’s like reviewing a fine scotch by only smelling it. Still a great video, I’ve got a deposit on the V4 base model and I’m hyped, but also scared because it’s not my first Ducati and I know they have issues first year of production on all of their top end Panigale’s

      haha yeah I've only got a few hundred miles but it doesn't take me long to get the idea since I've ridden so many bikes and spent a lot of time on the Ducati's. Also, so far this V4 has only had a few small recalls here and there so I think you'll be ok. Congrats on the bike man you will love it!

    All right guys, please give me some feedback. I just drove off the lot with my brand new Ducati V4S. However, they put 13 miles on it stating that the technicians were test riding it to make sure everything was working properly. They put a really small rock chip on my left ohlins fork.I am having really bad OCD considering what I paid for it. The dealer told me that they can warranty it out. However, they sent a team of staff to make me feel like a douchebag if I were to warranty it. What should I do? Thanks!

    Hey Jaret, been following your TH-cam videos on the past few builds you had done. I am also a bike enthusiast. I had a 2007 Maroon/black R1 that was stolen and damaged by the thieves. Unfortunately I had to declare it as a total loss because it cost as much a a brand new one to repair. I eventually ended up getting another bike, a HD 2013 VRod Muscle. I still miss my R1 and still would like to eventually get another super sport bike. The Ducati V4 is on that wish list. Anyway, I am currently residing on Guam and was just wondering if I would be able to enter the V4 build you have coming up. Thanks and keep those bike videos coming.

    i don't know, i could be wrong, but from what i can tell it seems the v4s is a rsv4rf with the only real difference being the $12K or so added to the price of the Aprilia for pretty much the same bike, give or take a little, but only a little.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are completely different bikes to be honest. I've ridden both on the street and I find the Panigale to be more comfortable, easier to ride, better looking, more power and better handling. It's literally better in every way. Also the RSV4 RF model is $20k. The Panigale V4 base model is $21k. So its not that much more.

    • @jupiter22177
      @jupiter22177 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      i know the base model is 21k but i can't find a review of that back to save my life. NO ONE it seems reviews anything but the s. i was wondering how much real world difference does one feel betwix the two. i think the difference is alloy wheels, lithium battery, ion electronic suspension and some carbon fiber here and there. would love to hear a comparison from someone who has rode both and relates to real world riding where 90% is the street and maybe 10%, if that, is at the track.

    Hey buddy, I wrote a comment on your last vlog, which was about to get a r6 or panigale. I just went down to the local Ducati dealer checked out the 959 and V4. I just in love with V4, it's freaking awesome bike!! Also I found out that riding a V4 even more comfy than a 959. However, could u tell if I'm not going to track a lot, do I really need to get the v4s? I just felt the v4 is enough, but I'm not sure the s model, is that worth the extra? Thank you!!

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly if it was my personal bike I would just buy the base model. The S model just gives you electronic ohlins suspension which 99% of riders won't use to their maximum potential anyway. The S also comes with lightweight wheels but I'd buy carbon wheels anyway. And finally a lithium ion batter which you can replace yourself in about 20 min for $150.
