Most cosplayers I've seen are either fat and miss the point, or generically attractive and are just using that for attention and validation (while proclaiming how sexist gamers are in their spare time). Playing dress-up doesn't make you a nerd. I have more experience shaving my face than these girls have cosplaying, but you don't see me claiming to be a barber. Even without TH-cam it was easily foreseeable. They launched a TV channel in 2002 with the target audience being young, tech literate males. They're literally the first audience to leave TV and they were already doing it. My grandfather bought me a first generation home gaming system when it came out. Pong, Hockey, Another rectangle and square game, and amazingly, a gun that could do skeet and one other shooter. 5 in one. Kids wanted to come to my place to play it for hours on end. That was around 75 or 76.

I have only the faintest interest in the subject matter of this video -- or even most of them covered by "It'sAGundam!", but I eagerly watch them because of the high quality of the videos, the editing, , and frankly, the style of humor resonates with me. Also, it's pleasant when the narrator of a video seems good-natured, and passionate about the subject matter, but without being "angrily invested". It's really nice, and I click on the videos as soon as become aware of them.

My grandfather bought me a first generation home gaming system when it came out. Pong, Hockey, Another rectangle and square game, and amazingly, a gun that could do skeet and one other shooter. 5 in one. Kids wanted to come to my place to play it for hours on end. That was around 75 or 76.
That bit with the wine moms was painful. I mean, would it kill them to do a little bit of (real) fact checking to learn the Magnavox Odyssey was the first home console, not the Atari 2600? Geez, the fact that people with little to no budget like us can do so much better than multi-million dollar corporations like this is insane.
yup my gamer senses were seething at this fact since it was the Magnavox Odysseythat was released in 72 and not the 2600 which was in 77. I'm glad someone else knows this.

The probably high money demands from her might seem greedy, but a lowball offer says a lot about the likely quality of the end product. It's no coincidence that the current G4 is staffed by people who have nowhere else to go.
Well there is an argument that can be made that She was the one that got this G4 snowball rolling as she was apparently dating the vice president of Comcast (or his son, IDK) which is also tangled up in all this. But she left him some time before it all started but after it had started pre production.
Makes you wonder what they actually define as a "gamer". Seeing how they always try to push this everyone's a gamer blah blah 50% of gamers are women yada yada but also every gamer is a sexist manlet living in their mom's basement and the gaming communitiy is cancer to the point where the word is seen as a slur in a lot of places.
If you spend a considerable amount of your free time and maybe income on gaming then I'd probably see you as a gamer, you don't become a gamer just because you installed candy crush on your phone once much like I don't become a painter cuz I drew a bunch of stick figures in art class in 5th grade.
No you become an artist by buying a box of crayons and never opening them obviously.
That's where the 50% of gamers a women stat comes from, mobile gaming, and super casual games like The Sims and the like.

I have only the faintest interest in the subject matter of this video -- or even most of them covered by "It'sAGundam!", but I eagerly watch them because of the high quality of the videos, the editing, , and frankly, the style of humor resonates with me. Also, it's pleasant when the narrator of a video seems good-natured, and passionate about the subject matter, but without being "angrily invested". It's really nice, and I click on the videos as soon as become aware of them.
If a corporation is talking about making something feel holistic to appear "authentic" then they have already failed.
So glad i gave this channel a chance and subscribed after seeing only two random vids that popped up in my “because you watched…” category on the home page.
