What do you do with the rest of the body? I figure eventually we may get pigs and cows (which could also give milk/cheese). Food variety is what drives burgage upgrades not amount and in all my playthroughs meat and eggs are consistently scarce.
The way to think about food currently is to make burbage plots self-reliant, or dedicated food production for houses. If you build a simple plot with chicken coop, you have basically guaranteed 1 food source for that house. For that reason you can use this to spam workers because they are essentially self sufficient. Once you start upgrading the plots, that's when your food supplies hurt because the closest high level house is stealing all the food for half the town.

And soldiers also got payed with salt, that's where the word "salary" actualy comes from. Yeah, had to share some nerdy knowledge! 😅
I had an argument in my head last day about this. That's how upset I am. Roman soldiers were NOT payed in salt. "Salarium" is "something you can spend on salt", as it was recognised that salt was important. Soldiers went to town and bought their salt there, it was not distributed by the army.
why add those small ponds? A large lake would make much more sense (or a river running accross entire map). And shouldn't primary instrument for fishing be a fishing net instead of a rod?
That was my first thought too...a river runs threw the map almost every single time...and its got no fish in it...yet we gotta take a tiny little pond...

Sometimes I wished Manor Lords could be like Anno 1800, and the other Anno games, where you have your own lands, and you settle in a coast, you can have a dock, make ships, explore untouched lands or conquer someone's lands, but I think you as a Lord can't do it 🤔 I'm not too sure about it, but Manor Lords is the game I always wanted, the developer condensed it, made it smaller, you're not a king, so you won't conquer other kingdoms, you're a small lord village, you could claim other villages, other lords around you, but the fact it's AI, makes me less interested, I think, I truly believe, Manor Lords could work way better if it was COOP, I think we should be able to play with friends, not multiplayer tho, I think it would be for a sequel idk if the dev will do it...but if it was co-op and you could bring the OG AoE players together to play in Manor Lords, and grind to become a strong Village, and fight with a large army, imagine 2vs2 games, 2vs2 with AI, and a goal, Manor Lords is enjoyable, when you play a full week, get everything done and you realize you finished the game, you feel empty, like there's nothing much else to do, I wished Manor Lords didn't feel like stuck in time, that there could be some progression of time, Lord dying and you play with his son, you notice the old people, and next generation, the buildings looking more older, rusty and needing improvements, and even upgrades to the look of the buildings, some stuff are stuck in time, it could be interesting to see some of those medieval technology of the past in Manor Lords getting upgraded, like someone invented a new thing and the king bought and some villages will acquire it and use it, people needing to get knowledge of it, to be honest I think the game should have more interaction with the villagers, like you see their stats, traits, so you could use them to make the village better, also about military weaponry, medieval weapons, walls, fortified walls, it could be nice to be able to use it in the game with freedom, but weren't a King, it might be realistic we can't do a lot and make the king angry, and there's also something I could like to see, bigger maps with bigger regions, definitely more AI in it, but it could be cool if there's a map where our main village is close to the king's kingdom, maps with the sea, islands, and a mode to explore outside lands like Anno 1800, but if this is not getting added, it's alright, Manor Lords might be the game I always waited, but it may not be the game they didn't want to do to satisfy myself, I always thought Manor Lords could be that game, it's beautiful looking, I love the buildings getting built, the nature, all that feeling, but the game I always wanted had some time progression, ages pass, you follow the evolution of medieval times until the last kingdoms, the beginning of the new era, and stuff like that, but with a realistic look, I hope that in the future they make this game, Anno, Ostriv, Manor Lords, Ancient Cities, all those tried... I'm excited for the future, what's going to be the next Manor Lords like game 🤔

I'm excited for the future, what's going to be the next Manor Lords like game 🤔
that update is a joke,1 pond for the whole map, 1 salt resource on the whole map, Graphics now slow down my FPS + looks worse! Hopefully i play the Cracked Version! Spending money for this is a joke!
Still a boring game. Build everything and then what? Take over another empty blank territory and build everything again?
yes buddy this is the main reason which needs to be addressed.its like u starts a new game.start building from zero.there should be AI cities and armies castles u need to conquer.diplomacy alliance.
yes i know it is city building but what is the use of city building I was biggest fan of this game was waiting for this game since 2020 but i only played this game for 3 days only.i will play this game again when there will be something to do after building a town.i would love to conquer the AI town or burn it.there should be a competetion with AI .even thera is no cavalary.just economy economy building.i wonder why do people not get bored.
He's said there will be ai towns and castles in the future
It looks the same. I hoped for a real update
we would need multyplayer
this game needs an ai oponent creating another city in the same map
No it doesn't.
It's not Stronghold 2 or Age of Empires. I like the pacing of the game and I would hate to see the aberrations built by the AI.
I totally agree with you.
@@SpeartonMan It's not anything. It's basically Lords of the Realm 2 if they only finished 10% of that game before release.
@@SpeartonMan they could always leave a game mode as it is, and another more competitive
Will AI build anything on their land plots?
Regarding spoilage : if you're struggling with food, means you rather meet the need of your population, then spoilage won't affect you much. A berry that is consume cannot spoil. 😛
I bought this on epic games store no way to try betas 😞
Another reason to buy on Steam ;-)
@@igorthelight well when buying I was randomly scrolling through the epic store and bought never did search 🔍 on steam neither did I search about betas (that’s my fault ) entirely but lesson learnt before buying always research 🔬 🤣
as a UE developer I have to ask: Why tf do you buy games on epic store? xD
@@TheNapkuchen lol 😂 it’s cheaper 🤣
Dude I never really paid attention to this until today … as I did mention in one of the replies … lesson learnt ..
But yeah till now I would just stroll through both stores and see if I find any good games and compare price obviously 🙄
Found it , that’s it’s always cheaper on epic in my country ..
But again realised the pro / cons
Will keep in mind …
Im not from an english speaking country. But do you really say "newest" update and not "latest" update?
Who cares, the enemy doesn't build on the map, it's boring as. I had a bug where people just stopped working and half my town emptied. Even with a reload it was still broken, HOURS of my time wasted. I'd STRONGLY recommend giving this game a lot longer in the oven because it's only 1 guy.
How can it can be only 1 guy when in the credits of the game there are almost a hundred people? Does he made the music? Does he made every single 3D model and 2D texture? Does he wrote 100% of the code?
Exactly, game is so boring without the AI building against you. It's basically a sandbox that doesn't have many toys in it.
I crashed 10x in a day.. i stopped playing
sorry been playing a few months now and the game is a heap of junk
It's just so darn boring because you really have nothing to do.
its so dumb to use salt and not have it on the map. like just smoke it
I hope they will add city walls, ai citys and a way to attack the citys
may be in few years
@@Mendogology it aint gonna take That long, he already sayd hes gonna do them
@@Zifroxxx Still, I think is going to take up to 2 years. The AI at Manor Lord is almost zero and making a good one, that builds cities, interacts with them, etc. It takes time.
But if I am wrong, well, better, so we can play it sooner :)
@@Mendogology yeah, its hard to Make a good one, but i hope they Will add it. It would Make the game so much better
