17:30 I always build the saw pit right next to the lumber camp, makes minimal distance for ox to drag the logs. Also hitching post next to lumber camp as well, as they are always going to the log pile first to get a log for whatever.
I go pretty crazy with the hitching posts. Each farm house gets one, any area where goods are made get 1-2, hunting/gathering camps each get one, errybody getting an ox in my town!
Only L0nzy sitting there Bob Ross’ing his map to make everything perfectly normal. Me frantically just throwing up houses and buildings anywhere just to avoid getting nuked by the Barron 😂
I am looking forward to this series!!! Loved how you started it, and the irregular shaped plots, and your road network. Could you do a walkthrough first person view of the area. I love seeing it from ground level. Thank you!
That is a ludicrous advantage given to crossbows over longbows. Remember that the French had crossbows at Agincourt, Poitiers and Crecy, and how much good did it do them? That is slap bang in the period that Manor Lords is set The ONLY advantage of the crossbow is the negligible training time, versus >10 years for longbow archers, who really need to learn it from childhood and be battle-ready in their late 20s. For many years the draw weight of war bows was very badly underestimated, as it was judged by what a modern adult male can easily achieve, but the skeletons of archers of the period show that they were almost grotesquely developed by modern standards, with heavily thickened attachments on the bones for all the muscles used to draw to the ear, and asymmetrically aligned for the different uses of left (pushing power) and right (drawing power) musculature. They would have been instantly recognisable, and any parent who allowed their child to develop in that way in the modern world would be charged with child abuse! The bows recovered from Marie Rose, although a little later than this period and a century after the period when longbows were truly dominant, set the matter to rest, as they were numerous enough to allow what had previously been unthinkable - a test to destruction to absolutely establish the draw weight, which although rather variable, was uniformly far in excess of all but one or two archers in the world today! Oh, and crossbows take many times as long to load, needing complex levers or a windlass to prepare the weapon for each bolt - meanwhile, the archer is halfway through his quiver, and sending a boy back for additional arrows from the baggage train! The archer can loose 5 or 6 arrows for each bolt the crossbowman can send downrange.
@@-jackel-2325 Its principal aim purports to be historical accuracy though, which they had until crossbows were introduced and they debuffed longbows to give crossbows a game advantage which is the reverse of real life.
Thanks for the new video! Too be honest, I got a little bit bored with Manor Lord in the end of the last series. It just seems much the same stuff over and over again. But with the new patch, hopefully it brings some more variables into play and it brings some more diversity into the playthrough. This is one of the strongpoints for example with Alien Dawn. No playthrough is really the same in my opinion.
What the hell. I’ve jumped into the game today, and i don’t have any update or anything. I’m basically playing the same game as before. I don’t have a fishing lake for example.
I just keep constantly having to micro manage food. Feels like something is broken. With collection not sure but I have at most 17 months of food in the first month which is really low comparatively
I still have yet to beat the game . How do I actually win. Got 3 territories right now at 90-%100 approval rating . All 500 Pop and up . When do I actually “beat” The game ? Thx
@ There is a difference between dirt roads and stone roads. The roads in the game are dirt roads, where most would have arisen by continues natural movement, whereas stone roads, inspired by the Romans, would have been planed out. Your town looks unnatural, inaccurate and just ugly. Just an opinion.
literally like 95% of the gaming channels on You Chewb are people from the UK. i am so tired of hearing that accent. as if there aren't real jobs in the UK anymore
well well, here we go. Do me the honours of a thumbs up and a little hello in the comment as it helps me reach wider on TH-cam!
Much love

Yea, it's a good idea. I don't really play for max efficiency though, just try to make it look nice lol

Problem with Alien Dawn is I have played it to death and just really bored with it now. Desperately needs an update that we will probably never see!

you have to opt into the beta branch on Steam

Food spoilage is a thing now so food is much harder to manage.

All good Frank, 👍
Interested in how you handle the expansion of the AI player. Seems like he has 3-4 regions before I can get my hold built.

So, do you enjoy the endgame of this game?
