This is one of the most incredible examples of the human spirit and the outcome for him will be even more rewarding. I challenge anyone who has a heart not to get emotional right along with this great human being. His honesty and drive should be used as an example of what our human spirit can do. I want him to get the Oscar. He deserves it.
There's deep wisdom in his vulnerability, and I can't help but be reminded of the character he plays in EEAAO "Please be kind. Especially when we don't know what's going on."
This is the greatest Oscar ever. Ke, Brendan, Michelle and Jamie Lee all got Oscars in the same year. I don't think any Oscar will ever beat this year.
Ke Huy Quan when he was young, was good looking got charisma, got great actor potential, and Hollywood didn't use him. He would have been great in sitcoms comedies too. 30 years wasted. Hollywood been sleeping on him. What a shame.
I have never rooted for an actor to win an Oscar as I have for Ke. We're the same age, and his success inspires me. It's like watching a damn good friend get to a great place in life.
Every time I watch Ke talk and get emotional I start getting choked up too. I really lost it when he said "I just wanted a job" because I know all too well what that feels like. He deserves all this and more after over two decades of missing out. Bravo Ke. I hope you win that Oscar.
Ke might one of the most purehearted people I've ever been blessed to see in my life. Would that we all could be so pure of heart in all our work and all our dreams. I'm thrilled for him.
i genuinely believe he has the best hollywood story. came from nothing (immigrant from vietnam), had some success as a kid, people forgot about him/couldn't find any roles, then he comes back with an academy award-nominated performance (hoping for a win!) 20 years later. doesn't take any of that for granted either. he deserves everything!
@@fredwerza3478 i think Culkin quit acting because his father Kit pushed him into the business and the amount of money Macaulay was making in the 90s led to lawsuits with Kit and Macaulay described Kit as Overbearing. That interviewer is hard as nails. I can not stop crying watching this interview. 😭 I am so happy for him and the whole cast. Love the movie. The best picture won best picture this year, finally.
Ke is probably the only Oscar frontrunner nominee who I will still be excited to win. And if a different name is called next month, then the Academy better pray I'm not in the vicinity.
This is also a story about a forgiving person. All those famous actors and producers he once knew could have given a hand up these past 20 years. Jokes on them! He deserved the Oscar for his sheer talent; not bc of his redemption story. But the story is awesome
Just rewatched EEAAO to understand ever little thing but mostly to watch him shine again! Can't wait to see what's next, love his emotion, honesty, humility & sweetness. Told m 28 yo son, proof that patience & perseverance pays off in time!

Ke is truly seems like one of the kindest, most genuine people to ever come out of Hollywood. I dont think the man has a mean bone in his body, seems extremely humble and grateful for the second chance at acting he's been given. And it's nice seeing a childhood star story that didn't end in complete disaster. I hope all of the good things continue to happen for him. Everything Everywhere All At Once was an incredible movie and his performance is completely deserving of all these accolades. Also it's kinda cool he ended up getting to live both a famous and a regular life, I'm sure there are days when huge stars wish no one knew who they were. That had to have contributed to how down to earth he is.

It was Jeff who let his dear friend Ke know about _Everything Everywhere All At Once_ and it was Jeff who negotiated the deal for him. In a world so full of superficiality and nonsense, it brings me so much joy, almost as much as Ke feels himself, to see him succeed; but also that he understands the ups and downs of life. We can all feel what he feels because of how geniune it is. It's nice to see him and Brendan Frasier being appreciated when the crap of hollywood turned them away.

YES EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine leaving acting for two decades and coming back winning an Oscar🤯
comeback of the century
SAG award, then an Oscar? That would be frickin' awesome
I believe he's been sweeping every single award that he was nominated.
Golden Globe, Critic’s Choice, Gotham, maybe 30 others…the only hiccup was the BAFTA’s who may have been giving a nod to a non-American actor.
Now that's a drama!
We missed out on having twenty years without this wonderful man on screen, what a crime
Ke stepped away from acting because there weren't roles for Asian men - so glad this is finally, slowly, starting to change.
