I felt that! I just saw it tonight. It was a warm fuzzy "AWWW" feeling for me. Just a wonderful version of an iconic storybook character and Timothee IS the new Wonka for this generation!
Watched Wonka last night. Most enjoyable! Hugh deserves an academy award for hus performance. Love Hugh! All actors were phenomenal. Timothee is adorable!
An Academy Award for his 2 minutes onscreen as a motion captured oompa loompa? is every one in this comment section a bot or what? these are the most insanely positive reviews for the most average movie lmao
I’ve seen Wonka twice now and I just love it! It’s so wholesome and whimsical!!! I hope there will be a sequel because I’m very excited to see more of Timothée Chalamet’s darling Wonka!
One of my top favorites hands down. Almost cried several times during the movie. When I have children, I look forward to showing them movies like this. The older you grow, the greater you appreciate what you saw growing up. As a child it’s fun and new, when you’re an adult it reaches a whole new level. I’m glad I was exposed to the film and TV I saw as a child, because those are the movies and shows I turn to when life gets hard. This movie touched my soul, just like Gene Wilder when I saw the original as a kid.
This is the most perfect comment regarding this movie. I grew up with Gene Wilder’s version, and it’s still one of my favorite movies. This new movie recaptured that magic the original movie had, and made me feel like a kid all over again. It’s such a brilliant beautiful movie.
Loved the movie. I took my children to see the first Willy Wonka movie when they were little and we really liked it. Went with my daughter (now 50) to see this version, we both loved it. (Neither of us really like the second with Johnny Depp.) Hope we get so see a sequel to this one.
@@flipoutnh He played a perfect drunk. By the way the new version that just came out a few month ago, it the one closest to the book. I suggest you read again.
@@flipoutnh Actually, since I am not a guy man, I do have children who used to be little and like stories, so did Roald Dahl who wrote the book. The laugh is on you. lol
Loved the movie, far more than I thought I would. Hilarious script, great songs, charming characters. And the chocolate wasn't bad either. btw did anyone else notice that the (very lovely ) song near the end sounds very much like it was copied off Burt Bacharach and Hal Davids "What the World Needs Now"?
As someone who grew up with the dapper and suave, version of Hugh Grant, I never EVER imagined I'd ever see him as an Oompa Loompa. Poorer I would've felt never giving it a chance. And I'm so glad I did because this movie was just fantastic.
I loved this movie over the other ones, even the beloved Gene Wilder original. Wonka was so whimsical and warm and I love the songs! I can’t wait to be able to own this one so I can watch it again! 💜
Went my family.had such a good time.far far better than those brainless superhero blitz.hope Hollywood makes more Dahl stories which can be enjoyed with the entire family.
I just saw it last night!!! I loved it!!!! It was whimsical, funny and just beautiful!!! The dancing was so great!!!!! Hugh was excellent!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐..... ❤❤❤❤❤.....
I saw this movie twice and looking forward to watching again. I took my daughter and granddaughters, then took my youngest daughter, 25 and everyone loved this film.
I'll watch anything Paul King makes at this point. Paddington 1&2 were stupendous, and Wonka was incredible. I didn't even plan on seeing it, feeling like it would contaminate my memories of the Gene Wilder movie I watched when I was 11 or 12. Silly me. Two Everlasting Gobstoppers Up!
I just watched it in italian. All the actors were great. Beautiful movie, very deep message. By the way, the songs in the original language should be better, but I can tell you that even in Italian, they sound very good.
The Italian adaptation is fantastic, the songs lyrics sound straight out of the books and all the voice actors did an amazing job. I really hope they release the Italian soundtrack soon!
I really do see the Wonka cast as a family. Hugh being the father. Timothee and Calah being the children and everyone else being aunts and uncles. However Keenan is the fun uncle.
I think this movie would have flopped if it had been the same character as previous Wilder and Depp had done. Wonka is a great interpretation of his life before he made it big in the chocolate industry. The music was catchy, a throwback to older musical styles, something different. Such a great cast, well done! My fave characters were Bleacher and Mrs Scrubbit. The "scrub scrub" song & sequence was well put together. So catchy!
This movie felt like it fit the Gene Wilder vibe. The Tim Burton version was horrible. Everything felt off. But this prequel felt like it would lead to the original.
Hugh Grant as an Oompa Loompa is everything I didn't know I needed.
Wonka had start somewhere
😊😊😊😊😊
Love him ❤
He was so sassy! 😂
he said he did not like doing it, but it did not stop him from delivering an top-notch performance.
this movie felt like a big, warm hug :’)

I don’t think it could be better said than that.
Absolutely agree! I’ve watched the whole movie with a smile on my face 🥰
that is so real 😭😭
Perfect description!
Watched it last night with my wife. We were both smiling the whole way through! Such a wonderful movie!❤
I cried a lot too. It was beautiful and emotional ❤❤ Loved it!
Me too!! Smiling constantly!!!😂❤
Same! I seriously almost couldn’t stop smiling 10 or 20 minutes. Minus the moments that made me tear up a little 😅
I was skeptical when I sat down in the theater. But Mr. Chalamat, you did a fantastic job!! Thank you.

all of his moves been retouch by animators, he didn't dance you know just play with his face, and like the other comment said he just has 3 scenes lol
@@studentfilmedcry more and troll better
I literally watched the movie yesterday and I cried while watching.
Crying with laughter?
I’ve seen Wonka twice now and I just love it! It’s so wholesome and whimsical!!! I hope there will be a sequel because I’m very excited to see more of Timothée Chalamet’s darling Wonka!
i love Hugh's voice so much!
I love that Hugh Grant really did the Oompa Loompa dance & it wasn't computer generated.
now with motion tracking, the actors are much more of the performance in animated characters. It looks a lot more natural too.
Wonka looks at Noodle and pauses.
"Come... with... me."
I cry hysterically.
"Every good thing in this world started with a dream. You hold onto yours."

We need heartwarming movies like this these days - loved it!
This movie made me so happy.
Timothee is absolutely committed and charming.
One of the most amazing movies I’ve ever seen. My wife and I have watched it four times now.
I absolutely loved this movie. It did feel like a warm hug and had lots of laughs. Loved, Loved this movie.

The Depp version was a closer adaptation to the book. Wonka is supposed to be eccentric, and Depp played that perfectly.
@@flipoutnh He played a perfect drunk. By the way the new version that just came out a few month ago, it the one closest to the book. I suggest you read again.
@@carmenortiz5294clearly, you did not read the book. lol

Johnny Depp Wonka is goated
Saw it 2 days ago and I LOVED IT!!!
웡카 영화 정말 재미있고 감동적 이에요~~~ 나오시는 배우님들 모두모두 연기도 잘하시고 노래도 정말 최고였어요 ❤

Wouldn't be surprising as Neil Hannon is a huge admirer of Burt Bacharach. :-)
fr this movie better than the movie wish
Saw it today, an absolutely warm, wondrous movie

Literally just come back from watching it with my wife and boys, we all absolutely loved it, what a fabulous film!
Saw it! Well impressed and interesting story! Pleasantly surprised! Its gonna be a Classic!
the dress is so pretty on her ❤
I loved this movie over the other ones, even the beloved Gene Wilder original. Wonka was so whimsical and warm and I love the songs! I can’t wait to be able to own this one so I can watch it again! 💜
I adored it for the reason it combined the whimsical fantasy land with the more dark theme of the Tim Burton one while maintaining the comedy aspects
The movie was so fun and wholesome!! Highly recommend.
Went my family.had such a good time.far far better than those brainless superhero blitz.hope Hollywood makes more Dahl stories which can be enjoyed with the entire family.
Yeah The Boy would be amazing
I just saw it last night!!! I loved it!!!! It was whimsical, funny and just beautiful!!! The dancing was so great!!!!! Hugh was excellent!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐..... ❤❤❤❤❤.....
I watched the movie because of the oompa loompa song😂😂It's very catchu and just don't leave my mind. I love Hugh Grant
One of the best movies I watched lately! It was very well crafted, beautiful, full of fantasy, and I had a really fun time.
I love this Movie
I saw this movie twice and looking forward to watching again. I took my daughter and granddaughters, then took my youngest daughter, 25 and everyone loved this film.
I can't wait to see it it looks marvelous!!!!

Great movie and great cast, seen it twice loved it even more the second time
También me gustó mucho que mister been está de regreso en la televisión 📺.
Se extrañaba también el actor míster been en la televisión 📺.
Loved this, roll on wonker 2!
Wonka should of won way more awards. I can't playing this soundtrack. Amazing and by far my fav. From Hugh and Olivia was amazing.
Amazing movie ! I loved every minute
love their dinamics!
Hugh Grant was a fantastic oompa loompah. He can sing too! ❤
This movie was an absolute joy!
I truly hope there is a sequel
love hugh grant!
Iamso looking forward to this the cast looks amazing real actirs not just box ticking by Hollywood
I was literally crying this movie is so good 😊

Rowan, Atkinson was funny and Wonka. I would love for him to get his own spin off.
Well done. Cast was amazing. Awesome film!
Watched the film 3 times already! 😂😂😂
The movie is like a beautiful Santa Claus's gift.. Lovved it!!!👍🙏♥♥♥♥
Loved that she wore her hair natural the whole movie
I just watched it in italian. All the actors were great. Beautiful movie, very deep message. By the way, the songs in the original language should be better, but I can tell you that even in Italian, they sound very good.
Dubbing movies in other languages is a crime and insults original content.
The Italian adaptation is fantastic, the songs lyrics sound straight out of the books and all the voice actors did an amazing job. I really hope they release the Italian soundtrack soon!
Guys, I cried my eyes out at the end of this movie....
Honestly timmothy being wonka was like a giant calm cuddly bear giving me a hug
U got it !!! Absolutely 💯 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
We parents seemed to adore the movie more than our kids!
Wonderful movie
Bloody brilliant
Loved this movie ❤❤
I love Timotee's shirt.
Super movie. Watched it twice
Strange I clicked on a video about Johnny D and ended up here. I'm so glad, this one was ten times better.
Keegan told Hugh Grant he was fantastic in the film and that’s true. He was fantastic.
Today, I watched the movie and enjoyed its distinctiveness, finding it quite original compared to the preceding two films.
I really do see the Wonka cast as a family. Hugh being the father. Timothee and Calah being the children and everyone else being aunts and uncles. However Keenan is the fun uncle.
I think fatherhood is taking a toll on Grant. His self-control of his sarcasm and tolerence of others no longer exists.
Never seen him before but Paul King has natural comic timing.
Wonderful movie!! A real treat. ❤
Fabulous movie.
Wonka is the 11th highest grossing film for 2023 😊❤😊❤😊❤❤
I just want Keegan to call Chalamet as TiMOWthee!! 😂😂😂
HUGH GRANT IS MY SPIRIT ANIMAL.
this movie did the original justice brilliant movie
Hugh Grant is officially the grumpy old guy😭
I saw him on the news I screamed WONKA!
amazing movie
I just love live this movie! Make me laugh hard and feel warm❤
Can't wait to watch, will make it a hubby date night
Best movie I ever watch
Lovely movie ❤️😊
Peter Dinklage grits his teeth as he sees this 4:00
Calah lost it at the end 😅

I saw Wonka two days ago Good Job everybody 😊
When I saw the preview, I thought the guy from House was playing the Oompah Loompah.
❤❤❤❤ moi le wonkakiss démoniaque sooo fun and cute
This movie felt like it fit the Gene Wilder vibe. The Tim Burton version was horrible. Everything felt off. But this prequel felt like it would lead to the original.
Exactly. It had that same magical feeling the original Gene Wilder version had. The Burton version needs to be removed from history.
Un niño en la mesa dé adultos -:D ❤❤❤❤
Would you call that a Hugh-mpa Loompa?
