There's a great video of Codex Entry about that sort of thing, but it's DMC 4. Still applies of course. Dante really is a vessel for interpretive flamenco dance for people who've shotgunned 8 red bulls.
That's how I described DMC 5 to my friends, I felt the game was a perfect example of how a player's personality can make literal art through their own combos

@@Sugondeeze_Nuts I enjoy him for what he is in the canon therefore I enjoy him for his gameplay too, not because his gameplay is sick or cool but because it’s supposed to be trashy, he himself mentions how weak he is a lot of times, and it was all hinting to the fact that he will not stop to gain more power.

The thing is, I absolutely want to get this good at Dante, but his complexity makes him really daunting. I play him as much as I can because I think he’s fun and his complexity adds a lot to the gameplay. But it’s mainly just pulling off cool air combos like this that I really struggle with, especially when trying to time DSD Summoned Swords with other attacks that require Swordmaster.
It would be cool, but I’ve accepted (as a controller user) that in order to do this type of insane wacky woohoo nonsense consistently I’d have to break my fingers and burn out my retinas practicing, which is a sacrifice I’m simply unwilling to make

Something that helps me work out sequences is to use a mod/trainer on PC to adjust the game speed and slow everything down. It's something I've always done when I'm learning a song on the piano, and it works just as well for this game. Once you teach your fingers the order and relative time between presses you can start to speed it up bit by bit and the next thing you know, you are doing it on turbo mode no problem.

It is terrifying when you realize that Dante is not a single fighter though. Vergil has his speed and dimensional flair, and Nero has his "arm"aments.....but Dante has, at any moment, FOUR styles of combat.....for CQC Combat and Defense, Ranged Offense, and overall Evasion. AND he masters his weapons within seconds. AND he can freeform flow between styles and weapons on a dime. Which means, at any given second, Dante has Style X Melee X Ranged options. Dante is almost impossible to stop if he has options.
Dante is the Ace of all cards.
An absolutely great follow up to the 2K vid, well worth the wait. Great shit as always dude.
