@Bruh-bk6yo he's the least broken of em all, lowest overall damage output, some stupid moves like atomic. Not exactly sure how it's a skill issue, but sure bro.
Vergil is cracked in every game he's in. Even in Marvel Vs Capcom 3, he's basically in his own tier

I kinda prefer 3 Vergil’s trick system to his later incarnations. I get why DmC needed Sword Embed, but I kinda think 4&5 should have ditched it. Teleporting with him here always felt better.
Well, unfortunately, 4 also needed it considering they re-used the level design from Nero's levels. After that, it just kinda... stuck around. Considering it's an established thing he can do now, I don't think it's going anywhere.
I don't get why 5 thought it should stick around. I get that 4 was probably trying something new due to Nero's segments, but 5 had no need to have it in place

Every single other returning character in the roster had gotten stronger and a significant expansion in their kit. Had Vergil instead lost one of his most powerful tools, well, the outcry would have likely been larger than us lamenting that it's too damned powerful.

The way Vergil uses Yamato in 3 is way cooler then in 4 and 5. In those games it feels like weightless stick while in 3 it feels heavy, powerful, and precise but not quite slow either
in 5 is way more cooler

@@MrSnax1 You have watched too much anime. Katanas in real life are way heavier than most European swords and is the reason most Katanas in Japan had to be held 2 handed.

DMC3 Vergil is a Menace because he can actually take off his coat, something he can't do in any other game.
You did Vergil fantastically! And the Persona 3 OST used during Agni and Rudra's boss battle while you desecrate them with stunning gameplay? Splendid as ever, aside from the fact Vergil is such an OP character; Dante mains do have him just as stylish so I think the brothers' combos demonstrated by fans seemed fair enough in DMC3, 4, and 5's case. Takes time to master Dante unlike Vergil tho!

I just hate that dmc 5 vergil has more of Dantes kit than before. I liked how his Beowulf launch in 3 was the rising kicks, but replacing it with Dantes shitty charged uppercut was the worst idea. Like, it feels anti-vergil. Vergil Is all about efficiency:power output and on average our legs are about 3x stronger than our arms, so it makes a lot of sense that vergil would try to tap into that. But just waiting around for 3 fucking years to charge 1 punch is the exact opposite of how how beowulf used to represent his character.
Also, the mirage edge pissed me off. It was such a good opportunity to give him a new weapon, one that maybe incorporated his summoned swords in a melee context, but nope. The reused the same Dante moveset that's been around since dmc1/3 again. A moveset so overused at this point that they had to give Dantes version a major upgrade, by giving it vergils summoned swords in a melee context. Honestly, I think the characterization in 5 was just backwards sometimes. In terms of how their movesets reflect the characters personalities at least

Vergil in 5 has the issue of being based of the best Vergil we've ever gotten (4) and with 5 making stuff feel anemic at times, it shines the most.
In 4 you could excuse Vergil sharing animations with Dante (sometimes) because his specific keyframing and follow through were different, hell his hand to hand benefited more from perfect charging than Dante and made him feel very different since he went from "crushing" to "slicing" effects.
Force edge in 4 was also INSANELY fast yet felt weighty.
I do feel like 5's Vergil feels more like a regression with tacked on supers, I don't like having the genocide cutter locked behind his version of Kick13, at least in 4 it was kind of an Easter egg.

I felt like in 4, he kinda like violently and hastefully waved around his swords and shit as to kinda show off the fact that, in dmc4, he was supposed to much younger.
As he had not of gotten around to developing the composed and calculated fighting style in 3.
But then he had his dmc4 move set in dmc5. And it made no sense as to see dmc5 vergil, who is at his strongest and oldest, to still be aggressively waving around his swords and shit. Especially when in dmc3 he made no unnecessary move.

I can't git gud with DMC3 Vergil it feels like, I'm perpetually stuck at the goddamn chessboard. It's odd because it feels like DPS wise everything he does hits harder than DMC5 in a way.
His moves back then were centred around POWER now its just speed

I just spammed Stinger + Summoned Sword projectiles in a DPS race. It's so much better than Dante's guns since it can't be used together with Dante's swords.
I miss his combos with Force Edge, the way he uses both swords is way cooler to me

Something about dmc3 vergil makes you feel like the hits that you deal out hit harder compared to the other titles. Very satisfying, and i like his voice better in dmc3 than in dmc5 (yes i know the actor ages) im just saying i wish dmc5 implemented something that allows you to switch the voices from dmc5 to dmc3 without the use of mods.

Back when V3rgil's moves were about POWER, and not speed. Don't get me wrong, playing Vergil in 5 is fun, but just cuz yamato is a katana doesn't mean it shouldn't have some weight behind it
V3rgil feels like a methodical and precise Samurai, V4rgil feels more like an anime Samurai/Ninja
Nah, Vergil in 5 is leaned toward being precise (especially with doppelganger) And it make a lot of sense because swordsmanship is speed and precision, DEX AGI build rather than STR AGI build. Woori Nuri showed the potential of this and doppel really well.
4 is leaned toward speed. He's stupidly fast there.
And 3. I really like him in three a lot. I don't agree that his kit is not about speed, because he's fast once you get a hold of him (I don't dare use the word mastered in this franchise) It felt awesome once I figured out how to a speed boy.
For me Vergil is about Precision, Power, and most importantly, Elegance. Three things directly contribute each other. That's why I think 5 is the best version of him. A̶n̶d̶ I̶'m̶ s̶u̶p̶e̶r̶ g̶a̶y̶.
