Well done - figs so early in the year 🙌.
It will be interesting to compare the timing with next year outside of the grow tent. Might be worth investing in a ballroom sized grow tent 😁

Love your videos, keep them coming. I have recently got myself an Italian honey, but have you tried the peters honey. I only want a couple of honey figs or should I go for the Celeste instead. Cheers.

I think that technically Celeste is a sugar type fig, and Italian Honey is a very famous actual honey type, so maybe it wouldnt be the worst to have one of each. I dont actually have Italian honey, I had years ago but lost it before it fruited. I have not tried Peters Honey and havent seen it sold. I have a couple of famous honey figs which should be ready later in the year including Izbat An Naj, Mary Lane Seedless and Dottato, after they have been tried I will give you my favourite and maybe even send a cutting or two your way!

I have the exact same fig variety If I'm correct in assuming yours is from Daleys. When I ordered mine from Daley's, I thought it would be the particular celeste variety called 'Blue Celeste' which is a small blue skin fig with red interior. Yours looks very similar to Improved Celeste, which has a melon like interior as you described. It does seem like a great tasting fig though, judging off how you reacted to it. Daleys says in their description that it's also known as 'Blue celeste, Sugarfig, and Celestial' and this is why I'm confused haha. I've just repotted my Azore Dark figs (San Miguel Roxo) and the root systems are great. Won't be much longer before I have them listed on eBay. Btw me and my mate who are both into figs really like your content. Keep it up!

This is a Daleys variety yes, I saw as well that they had listed Blue Celeste as an alternate name, but I believe these are distinct varieties. It could be improved Celeste, I am not sure of the differences between improved and regular Celeste. It was a great fig, I usually favour the richer berry types but this tasted very much like a perfectly ripe rockmelon with extra sweetness, and a touch of fig, quite delicious. I havent seen Azore Dark anywhere else so I am very keen. Thanks for your kind words, appreciated :)

@@LiveLoveCanberra Hi Nathan, I saw your recent video on figs and how some aren't turning out to be the true to type. I can relate, as I have now been going through this, and I'm not sure if I can really trust eBay anymore. The only trustworthy seller so far seems to be trangck76, or kausik. I purchased a caprifig, and that ended up being an edible fig haha. I thought I'd post here and tell you that my Celeste from daleys looked exactly like yours, and the flavor you described it was also the same. It was really good. Its for certain not the regular celeste, because that one has a pink interior and is a smaller fig. I contacted daleys, but no answer yet. All the best Nathan.
