Mystery UNK Roadside Fig. Caprifig or Common?

On the way into the office drove past a fruiting fig. THis fig has large Breba or Caprifigs on it. Took some cuttings and would like to know everyone's thoughts on whether or not it is a capri or other type of fig.

I think that is most likely a caprifig. By the way, there is a place in the USA that does leaf sample test on figs, which can determine if they are male or female. It is called FarmerFreeman EZ-XY test.

You see hundreds of fruit trees along roadsides here in the UK, mostly apples, I'd guess most likely a human threw a shop bought fig they'd been eating out of the window that had viable seeds in it, maybe even a dried fig ?

That is another possibility too, have you ever tried any of the roadside apples?

G'day mate, it's amazing how we treat figs at home will excellent drainage, warm environment and continuous water, yet you find this growing happy on the side of the express way.

I have one I am going to take cuttings from soon growing in the top of a palm tree! They are far tougher than you would ever think reasonable

I can not comment on what sort but would also consider a bird dropped a branch from a tree in aranda or some other means 🤷🏻‍♂️

Caprifig - the give-away is the male flowers around the Ostiole. No fig wasp either.
