I have a Golden Wonder Killifish and he is so awesome! They are like little dogs! Mine will swim up to me and when he is hungry, he'll splash around at the top of the tank lol. I definitely believe that every fish keeper should have one! I am actually going to breed more of them soon! Awesome video!
Perfect timing! Someone in my area listed some Golden Wonder Killifish on Craig's List that they are giving away for free. It's not a species I'm super familiar with so I really appreciate this video. Thanks!
Yea they will eat small fish and shrimp. I don't think they are really a community fish either, after a while mine seemed to get really stressed inside my community tank. Seems happier in my smaller spare one.
@@HeyItsCharlie You don't want more than 1 male, unless the tank is big enough and there are hiding spaces, but for the most part you can keep a male and females together
@@myaquariuminfo mine ate all my other fish:( the guy at the fish store said they were all compatible so I had no clue. I want to get my male a friend though
I m from kerala India ! We can see this fish each and everywhere in my area, like small streams, river, paddy fields.... no one will use here this fish as an aquarium fish ! I feel wow, when i see other peoples consider this fish as an aquarium variety
Hello! And thanks for watching! I can see them leaving each other alone if kept in a big enough tank...although cichlids can be quite aggressive 😬.. I think you might be okay though .. would just keep an eye out. Good luck and keep me updated!
I seen these today at a really nice petco they’re badass. They had a BRIGHT green one and two basically white-green ones that I assume were female. Really cool fish and crazy face lol.
Omg I have been looking to find this fish for a week now.. I just recently started a hobby of breeding my mollies. To see all my little babies..... Made the mistake of telling that to the petco dude.. so he slipped one of these bastards into the fish bag when I bought more colored mollies to add to the mix....... Now... I rarely find one or 2 Mollie fry hiding in my yarn nest in the corner of the tank... B4 THIS ONE SHOWED UP.. I WOULD GET BATCHES OF 20 AT A TIME... THANKS MR. PETCO EMPLOYEE.. ... I can't believe he slipped this dude into my fish bag just because I told him I have a small hobby of breeding mollies... WHAT A DICK...
Hey dude awesome video! i have 2 GW killifish in a 20 tall and theyre pretty awesome fish but i have a couple questions. So these fish have been in my tank for about 4 months now, and its been better in some areas than others in terms of tanks mates and aggression, i have a couple guppies, bristlenose pleco and a female betta (also rasboras that didnt work out). Ive seen minor aggression only towards the guppies once or twice but thats definitly non existent now, the "issue" ig is towards each other. Theres a clear defined alpha and it keeps my other killi fish in hiding most of the time (no injuries thankfully) and chases it. Can i prevent this by adding more killis? *Side note* im having trouble sexing them (theyre definitly the same gender) theyre not completly dull like the females ive seen and theyre not bright yellow like the males, they have a greenish glint to them any ideas?
i enjoy my golden killi fish. personality comparible to a beta fish. mostly stays near surface so plenty of room for the other guys. massive appetite and will get agressive at feeding time. i hand feed her a freeze dried baby shrimp and while she's busy with that the other fish eat their flakes in piece
I had no idea they’d eat smaller fish!! I saw one of these at a Petco and almost got a couple (they only had two) but I wasn’t sure. Then I saw a single one at a different Petco and it was much larger than the previous two I’d seen.
Thank you I got a golden Wonder yesterday and heard horror stories about them, but killifish in general being one of my dream fish i decided to get it anyway since about a month before I did my research. I have a lid so they wont jump and I'll save up for a ten gallon and the setup for my guppies and tetras. by the way do you know if golden wonders eat full grown guppies?

Lol, yeah been busy with this past spring semester but now get to focus on fish for the summer! Yes! They're great to keep, and super easy😊 Well that's why I make the videos heh, so you guys can check out different types of fish even if you can't keep them(: Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any ideas for videos!

Its a cool looking fish, but ate 8 of my tetras over a weekend. Listed as a community fish at Petco. I should have researched more.

I love my killi fish I named him Pickle, he is the biggest in the tank but doesn’t eat anyone else, he’s also really friendly to people!
Aww, you should get him some friends! Mine ate some of my smaller fish 😮 even my big guppies!!
Myaquariuminfo are they okay with other golden wonder killis? I think the place I got it said they need to be the only one of their kind !!
Myaquariuminfo my killi is also very green compared to the ones in the video , I wonder why

Its basically a Betta fish with a giant mouth

Would this species work with corydoras?
